Incident at CYAW

At 1600Z Moncton ACC controllers observed a VFR target which was later identified as CTG 300 a DHC 8 on patrol. CTG 300 was observed to penetrate CYR 734 and CYR 735 at 1500 ft. CYR 734,735,736 and 737 were activated from surface to FL200 from 1315Z to 2359Z. NOTAM #020034 was issued at 1318Z following a short notice activation from MARCOM. A second aircraft SPR301 who was unaware of the active restricted areas was on a VFR fisheries patrol departed Halifax at1219Z. On return to Halifax the aircraft established early communications with Moncton ACC who vectored SPR301 was around the restricted airspaces. Nil TSB

February 28, 2000

Incident at West of Halifax

SPR301 PA31 25 miles West of Halifax requested clearance back to Halifax due to an electrical problem which he suspected could evolve into a communications failure. Landed without further incident. TSB EVALUATING Update; Maintenace discovered that the left Alternator had shorted internally. The Alternator was replaced and the aircraft returned to service. The company is submitting a Service Difficulty Report to Transport Canada. TSB file # A00A0037

Incident at Halifax Intl

SPR301 PA31 while taxiing for departure exited the ramp and became stuck in the infield. Aircraft was towed back to the ramp. No damage. Flight later departed with a different crew and aircraft. NIL TSB Update: Pilot became dis-orientated while taxiing in a heavy rain shower. Lost sight of taxi line and taxied off ramp. Shut down engines when he realized he had taxied between two taxi lights.

Incident at Saint John NB

SPR301 PA31 reported a landing gear indication problem. Eventually a safe gear indication was obtained and the flight landed without incident.

Incident at CHARLOTTETOWN

PA31 NAVAJO SPR301 C-GMHZ - AT 1116Z, A/C EXPERIENCED ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS AFTER DEPARTING CHAROLTTETOWN FOR SYDNEY. PILOT DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND SUBSEQUENTLY BECAME NORDO. CFR. ECC ACTIVATED. A/C LANDED SAFELY AT 1143Z. ARN840 DELAYED ON DEPARTURE APPROX 5 MIN. TIME = 1120Z. ACTION = MAH.
