Incident at 150 miles S SASKATOON / JOHN G. DIEFENBAKER INTL SK (CYXE)

A Skywest Airlines Bombardier CL 600 2B19 (N941SW/ SKW6306) from Saskatoon, SK (CYXE) to Denver, CO (KDEN) reported an unspecified maintenance issue and advised returning to Saskatoon, SK. No assistance required. SKW6306 arrived without incident at 2155Z. No impact to operations.

At 2125z, A Skywest Airlines Canadair CL-600-2B19 (N-988CA/ operating as SKW6306) on a IFR flight on approach runway 09 at CYXE advised a flap issue and executed a missed approach. Pilot requested vectors south of the field to troubleshoot the problem. At 2137z pilot requested diversion to CYEG. No assistance requested. No impact to operation. Aircraft transferred to EG ACC at 2159z.

Incident at SWIFT CURRENT SK (CYYN) (Conflict - potential, ATS operating irregularity)

UPDATE A09C0055: TSB reported that the Air Canada Airbus A321, registration C-GITY operating as ACA180, was eastbound at FL330 in the vicinity of Swift Current, SK. The SkyWest Canadair CL600, registration N980SW operating as SKW6306, was southbound on a crossing track at FL330 from Saskatoon, SK, to Denver, CO. The Winnipeg ACC controller did not observe the developing conflict until the aircraft were about 12 nm apart. The controller instructed both aircraft to turn left and the aircraft passed with 7.5 nm of separation. The instructions were issued before either TCAS or radar conflict alerts activated. The aircraft were in visual flight conditions and SKW6306 was acquired visually by ACA180.
ACA 180, an Air Canada A321, was eastbound en route Vancouver to Toronto level at FL 330. SKW 6306, a Skywest Airlines CRJ 200, was southbound en route Saskatoon to Denver level at FL 330. When the two aircraft were about 35 miles south of Swift Current, the Winnipeg Centre Controller failed to notice the crossing track confliction until the aircraft were 12 NM apart. Both aircraft were given left turns and passed with 7.5 NM separation. Both aircraft were subsequently re-cleared on to their respective flight plan routes.
