UPDATE: TSB#A16C0046: C-GUKO, a privately registered Piper PA31 aircraft, was landing on Runway 33 at Igloolik, NU (CYGT) on a flight from Grise Fiord, NU (CYGZ). The aircraft touched down hard on the runway, and the right main landing gear collapsed. The aircraft veered to the right and departed the runway surface, coming to rest approximately 300 feet south of the runway centerline. The pilot and the two passengers sustained minor injuries. When the aircraft was recovered from its location, it was discovered that the right landing gear oleo had broken.
A Les Entreprises SIFEC Nord Inc. Piper PA-31 (C-GUKO) from Grise Fiord, NU (CYGZ) to Igloolik, NU (CYGT) attempted a landing at CYGT. Upon touchdown, their right main gear collapsed. At approximately 1810Z, C-GBLT, a Piper Navajo operated by l'École de Parachutisme Gatineau-Ottawa, was conducting a parachutist-dropping flight at 13 000 ft at Gatineau (CYND). The specialist at the Gatineau flight service station (FSS) asked the air traffic controller at the Montréal area control centre (ACC) to inform the pilot that the weather conditions at Gatineau were overcast at 3 000 ft. (d/b/a Continental Express/Air Mike Express (Houston, TX)) Embraer EMB-145 aircraft (operating as Continental Express flight BTA2595) was concluding a scheduled IFR flight from Newark (Liberty) International Airport, NJ (U.S.A.) (KEWR) to Ottawa (M-CIA) (CYOW). The flight crew elected to execute a missed approach to runway 25 due to a temporary obscuring of the final approach area caused by blown snow near the threshold of runway 25 being picked up by jet blast from a departing Boeing 767 aircraft. NAV CANADA staff at Kenora F.S.S. reported that the aircraft was on a VOR/DME26 approach to Red Lake Airport when the flight crew executed a missed approach at 2343Z and 2353Z due to weather. The pilot of the QWest Helicopters Aerospatiale AS350B, VFR Fort Nelson to destination unknown, requested to exit via the North Special VFR (SVFR) corridor. The Specialist observed the helicopter did not follow the specified route and did not report at the required reporting points, JUNCTION and SYD BRIDGE. The flight crew of SPR922, DHC 8 102, which was enroute from Goose Bay (CYYR) to Deer Lake (CYDF), reported the following incident to the Deer Lake Flight Service Station (FSS). CME602, Beech 200, enroute from Deer Lake (CYDF) to Halifax (CYHZ), requested a VFR departure from Runway 25. CME was advised of the IFR traffic inbound from Goose Bay. The FSS received a position on SPR922 from the Gander Area Control Centre (ACC) and passed the information to CME602. CME602 departed VFR from Runway 25 at 21:30Z. CME602 was handed off to the Centre for traffic. SPR922 pilot advised that CME602 passed "2 nautical miles from SPR922". Both aircraft were communicating with Gander ACC at time of the alleged incident. METAR CYDF 2100Z 05015G20KT 12SM OVC018 M03/M07 A3041 SC8.

UPDATE ANS and Airspace reported that Nav Canada has taken internal corrective/disciplinary actions concerning this incident.
The pilot of C-FMAO, a Bell 206, was departing VFR from the company helicopter pad 2 miles southwest of La Ronge and had called FSS for an advisory. Due to an oversight, the FSS Specialist did not provide the pilot with the weather, which was below VFR minima at the time. The pilot took off and subsequently called clear of the zone.
