Incident
at BAIE-COMEAU QC (CYBC)
(FOD (foreign object debris))
UPDATE: TSB Report No. A18Q0108: N525QS, a Cessna Citation 680A Sovereign-type aircraft operated by Netjets Aviation, on flight EJA525 was following Instrument Flight Rules from Quebec City/Jean Lesage Intl (CYQB), QC, to Baie-Comeau (CYBC), QC. The crew had planned a landing on Runway 28, whose southern portion covering its full length was closed owing to repair work. Temporary runway edge lights were placed in the usual runway centreline, and a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) had been published to this effect. One of the tires of the aircraft blew out upon landing when it collided with the temporary runway edge lights. There were no injuries. The aircraft also suffered minor damage to its left and right leading edge flaps.
A Hydro-Québec de Havilland DHC-8-311 (C-GJNL/HYD312) from Quebec/Jean Lesage Intl, QC (CYQB) to Baie-Comeau, QC (CYBC) landed on Runway 28 and had to come to a stop on the runway due to the presence of aerodrome lighting debris and a cable across the runway. The last aircraft to land before HYD312 was a Netjets Aviation Cessna 680 (N525QS/EJA525) from Quebec/Jean Lesage Intl, QC (CYQB) to Baie-Comeau, QC (CYBC), and airport staff confirmed that it was that aircraft that had damaged the lights and blown a tire. The runway was cleaned. A Propair Beech A100 (C-GJLP/PRO4600) from Maniwaki, QC (CYMW) to Baie-Comeau, QC (CYBC) had to fly a holding pattern before being able to land.
