Incident at ST. JOHN'S INTL NL (CYYT)

LAL8316, DHC 8 102, enroute from Deer Lake (CYDF) to St. John?s (CYYT), on an ILS approach to Runway 11, reported a ground proximity warning and executed a missed approach. Air Traffic Control (ATC) observed an altitude of 2,200 ft. The flight made a second ILS approach on Runway 29 and landed without problems. Nil TSB.

LAL8316, DHC 8 102, enroute from Deer Lake (CYDF) to St. John?s (CYYT) missed the approach to Runway 11 due to weather. The aircraft landed on the second attempt at 01:16Z. WX 1/4 mile -DZ FG VV001. RVR 1800 ft. Nil TSB.

A short 1-second ELT burst was heard at 18:34Z. The flight crew of LAL8316, DH8A on the ramp at Wabush, advised that their ELT was accidentally set-off during checks. ULACC was advised. Nil TSB.

LAL8316, DHC 8 102, enroute from Deer Lake (CYDF) to St. John?s (CYYT), at 00:43Z, rejected takeoff on Runway 07 due to a Roll Spoiler warning light. At 01:09Z, the pilot advised that the problem appeared to be corrected and departed without further incident at 01:27Z. Nil TSB.

LAL8316, DHC 8, enroute from Deer Lake (CYDF) to St. John?s (CYYT), aborted take off at 00:32Z due to an oil pressure warning light. After taxiing to the main terminal to rectify the problem, the aircraft departed on Runway 07 at 00:48Z without further incident. TSB Evaluating.

UPDATE Maintenance & Manufacturing: Two quarts of oil were added and aircraft departed with no further problems.
LAL8316, DH8A, enroute from Deer Lake (CYDF) to St. John?s (CYYT) aborted take off at 01:14Z due to a low pressure oil indication light. Aircraft departed at 01:37Z without incident. Nil TSB.

LAL8316, a Labrador Airways Dash 8, was conducting an instrument flight rules (IFR) flight between Qu├ębec (CYQB) and Baie-Comeau (CYBC). The pilot reported having struck several birds upon landing at Baie-Comeau. The aircraft was not damaged.

Incident at ST. JOHN'S INTL NL (CYYT) (ATM - other)

After landing on Runway 16, LAL8316 a Dash8 advised St. John's Tower that the flight had a GPWS alert during vectoring for Runway 16. Vectoring was at the MRVA of 2100 feet and details of when or where the alert occurred are not available. The aircraft was inbound from Deer Lake.

Incident at DEER LAKE NL (CYDF)

At 0137Z LAL8316 a DHC 8-100 departed Runway 07 at Deer Lake enroute to St. John's. When the aircraft was leaving 6300 ft the aircraft advised Gander ACC of an engine problem (#2 engine surged0 and requested to return to Deer Lake for an ILS Runway 25 approach. When the aircraft was in contact with the Deer Lake FSS they requested AFF on standby. AT 0153Z the aircraft landed safely. No assistance was required. TSB - Case Closed - More to Follow
Update - Maintenance and Manufacturing : the crew experienced an engine and prop RPM fluctuation on climb out from Deer Lake. There was no engine Failure. AMEs were dispatched from St. John's with a replacement Electronic Engine Control (EEC) unit as it was felt this unit was the cause of the problem. Upon removal of the cannon plug from the EEC the AME noticed oil on the connector. When the oil was cleaned from both ends of the connector everything checked out OK and the aircraft was returned to service.
