A weak emergency locator transmitter (ELT) signal was heard by a Jazz de Havilland DHC-8-400 (JZA8876), north of Natashquan, QC (CYNA), at FL230. Source unknown. Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) Halifax was notified.

Incident at 35NM CHARLOTTETOWN PE (CYYG)

A Jazz Aviation de Havilland DHC-8-402 (C-GJZR/JZA8876) was on a flight from Halifax/Stanfield, NS (CYHZ) to Goose Bay, NL (CYYR). At 2337Z, the aircraft reported a maintenance issue and requested clearance back to CYHZ. No emergency and no assistance required at destination. No details on issue. The aircraft landed at 0010Z. No impact to operations.

Incident at HALIFAX / STANFIELD INTL NS (CYHZ)

AT 2000Z, Jazz (JZA) station operation centre (STOC) called the Tower to advise that a Jazz de Havilland DHC-8-402 (C-GGOK/JZA8876) on a flight from Halifax/Stanfield, NS (CYHZ) to Goose Bay, NL (CYYR) was leaking oil while taxiing for departure. The aircraft was advised and returned to the apron.

An Air Canada Embraer ERJ 190-100 IGW (ACA1116) from Regina, SK (CYQR) to Toronto, ON (CYYZ) was instructed to overshoot Runway 05 due to the previous arrival, a Jazz de Havilland DHC-8-102 (JZA8876) from Windsor, ON (CYQG) to CYYZ still exiting the runway. No operational impact.

A WestJet Boeing 737 700 (WJA490) from Winnipeg, MB (CYWG) to Toronto, ON (CYYZ) was overshot for Runway 05 due to a Jazz de Havilland DHC-8-102 (JZA8876) from Windsor, ON (CYQG) to CYYZ slowed on approach to 100kt, and missing the exit assigned by air traffic control (ATC).

Incident at BROMONT QC (CZBM)

A 0055Z, le pilote du vol JZA8876, parti de Montréal (CYUL) à destination de Frédéricton (CYFC), en montée au Nord de Bromont (YZT), a demandé de revenir atterrir à CYUL à cause d`un problème avec l`équipement de dégivrage. Il n`a pas déclaré d`urgence et n`a pas demandé de priorité. Il s`est posé sans encombre sur la piste 06 gauche de Dorval à 0115Z. At 0055Z, the pilot of flight JZA8876, departing from Montreal (CYUL) and arriving at Fredericton (CYFC), in a climb north of Bromont (YZT), asked to return to CYUL, due to a problem with the de-icing equipment. He did not declare an emergency and did not request priority. At 0115Z, he landed safely on rwy 06L at Dorval.

Incident at FREDERICTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

JZA8876 a Dash8-300 en-route from Montreal to Fredericton struck a bird on final approach to Runway 09 in Fredericton. The aircraft was inspected upon arrival at the gate, no damage was found, but evidence of blood and feathers was discovered on the left side of the Radome and the left main gear door beneath the engine intake bypass door, as well as a few places on the main gear struts. Maintenance was contacted, logbook part II entry completed, dispatch was advised and bird strike report was filed with Transport Canada upon arrival in Bathurst. Maintenance inspected the aircraft and no damage was found.

Incident at FREDERICTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (Overshoot/missed approach, ATM - NAVAIDS/radar, ATM - ILS irregularity)

The ILS transmitter for Runway 15 in Fredericton failed at 0132Z. This occurred, just prior to JZA 8604 (a Regional Jet) commencing the approach. The flight flew the VOR 27 approach and landed safely. Later JZA8876 (a Dash8) missed the VOR 09 approach and landed successfully following a VOR 27 approach.
