A Jazz de Havilland DHC-8-102 (C-GONY/JZA8284) from Timmins, ON (CYTS) to Toronto/Pearson, ON (CYYZ) reported a bird strike climbing through 3000 feet. JZA8284 reported that the bird hit the wing of the aircraft and elected to continue to its destination. No impact to operations.

An Air Canada Embraer ERJ 190-100 IGW (ACA707) from LaGuardia, NY (KLGA) to Toronto/Pearson, ON (CYYZ) was instructed to "go around" due to overtaking the previous arrival, a Jazz de Havilland DHC-8-402 (JZA8284) from Timmins, ON (CYTS) to Toronto/Pearson, ON (CYYZ), that was slower on approach.

Incident at 15NM S TIMMINS / VICTOR M. POWER ON (CYTS)

A Jazz de Havilland DHC-8-402 (JZA8284) from Timmins/Victor M. Power, ON (CYTS) to Toronto/Lester B. Pearson Int'l, ON (CYYZ) shutdown one engine and declared PAN PAN shortly after departure. The aircraft returned to CYTS where they landed without further incident at 1447Z. No operational impact.
UPDATE from Airworthiness: A Civil Aviation Safety Inspector (CASI) looked into this occurrence. Maintenance completed troubleshooting and replaced a torque sensor and the pitch control unit. The aircraft was returned to service following a technical review by the Maintenance Operational Controller (MOC). There were satisfactory engine runs and leak checks and there has been no recurrence.
UPDATE TSB Report #A18O0061: C-GJZR, a Bombardier DHC-8-402 aircraft operated by Jazz Aviation LP, was conducting flight JZA8284 from Timmins (Victor M. Power), ON (CYTS) to Toronto/Lester B. Pearson Intl, ON (CYYZ). During the climb out from CYTS through 6500 feet ASL, the number 1 propeller RPM decreased to 850, which was followed by a master caution light. The propeller RPM then increased to 1060, an over speed condition, and the flight crew followed QRH procedures. The engine (Pratt & Whitney Canada PW150A) was shut down, a PAN PAN was declared and the flight crew requested to return to CYTS where the aircraft landed uneventfully with ARFF standing by. The operator?s maintenance replaced the propeller PCU and, following operational checks, the aircraft was returned to service.

After departure, a Jazz Aviation de Havilland DHC-8-402 (JZA8284) on a flight from Timmins/Victor M. Power, ON (CYTS) to Toronto/Lester B. Pearson, ON (CYYZ) checked in with a landing gear malfunction. The aircraft returned to CYTS and landed without incident at 1612Z. No operational issues.

A Jazz de Havilland DHC-8-102 (JZA8284) from Timmins, ON (CYTS) to Toronto, ON (CYYZ) reported a traffic alert and collision avoidance system (TCAS) resolution advisory (RA) with a Four Seasons Aviation Aerospatiale AS 355F1 (C-FHNB) on a flight from Brampton, ON (CNC3) and landing at Brampton, ON (CNC3). The RA resulted in a go around for JZA8284. JZA8284 landed without incident at 1614Z. No operational impact.
