At 2319Z, a Jet Airways Airbus A330-300 (JAI229) from Toronto, ON (CYYZ) to Brussels (EBBR) was observed turning right direct Mirabel, QC very high frequency omnidirectional range (VOR)/ Distance measuring equipment (DME) (YMX) without authorization. JAI229 had been cleared SEDOG2 YXI MOFAT and read back the clearance correctly. The Killaloe, ON VOR/ DME (YXI) controller noticed the error and instructed JAI229 to proceed direct MOFAT. No operational impact.

NAV CANADA staff at Toronto ACC reported that after departure off of runway 06L, the flight crew was cleared to (and read back) 7,000 feet. When the JAI229 flight crew checked in with the next sector controller, they reported climbing to 8,000 feet. The Controller re-cleared them to 7,000 feet (which they had not yet reached). The Jet Airways (India) Limited Airbus A-330-202 aircraft (VT-JWM, operating as flight JAI229) was on a scheduled IFR flight from Toronto (LBPIA) (CYYZ) to Brussels (National) International Airport, Zaventem Diegem, Machelen (Belgium) (EBBR). NAV CANADA staff at Toronto ACC advised that ACA856 was seven (7)NM south of Toronto (Oshawa) Municipal Airport (CYOO), climbing through 15,000 feet, when the flight crew reported encountering wake turbulence when their aircraft was 12 miles behind JAI229, also eastbound, climbing through 19,000 feet. ACA856 was offset on track one (1) mile and continued on course. Ops. impact -- unknown.

The Jet Airways (India) Airbus A330-200 aircraft (operating as JAI229) was departing on a scheduled IFR flight from Toronto (CYYZ) (LBPIA) to Brussels, Belgium (EBBR). The American Eagle Airlines Embraer E135 aircraft (operating as EGF4487) was concluding a scheduled IFR flight from New York (US) (KLGA) to Toronto. The flight crew of JAI229 received instructions to line up and wait on runway 24R but overshot the centreline before turning and were then unable to line up on 24R The flight was held on the threshold of runway 24R for approximately 5 minutes while the flight crew confirmed that the aircraft would be able to take-off on runway 24L and was subsequently cleared for takeoff on this runway. Ops. impact -- EGF4487 was inside the final approach fix when the flight crew were asked to switch their landing runway from 24L to 24R.

The Jet Airways Airbus A-330-200 series aircraft (operating as flight JAI229) had recently departed on a scheduled IFR flight from Toronto (LBPIA) (CYYZ) to Brussels National (International) Airport (Belgium) (EBBR). NAV CANADA staff at Toronto ACC advised that at 2156Z, JAI229 received their clearance to Brussels via their flight planned route. When instructed to proceed direct a fix on the controller's flight strips, the flight crew advised that the fix was not on their route. Further investigation determined that the flight planned routing differed from the routing received and distributed by CAATS. After co-ordination, JAI229 was re-cleared via an approved routing. Ops. impact -- none.

The Jet Airways Limited (India) Airbus A330-200 aircraft (operating as JAI229) was taxiing for departure from Toronto (LBPIA) (CYYZ) for a scheduled IFR flight to Brussels (BE) (EBBR). While on the taxi, the flight crew of an aircraft following JAI229 reported that smoke appeared to be coming from an engine cowling. The flight crew of JAI229 requested assistance and CFR vehicles arrived to inspect the aircraft. The CFR crews found nothing usual so the flight crew elected to continue and departed on runway 06L. JAI229 was cleared for take-off in Toronto and reacted slowly to this clearance. ACA695 was on approach to the same runway when ATC instructed the flight crew to carry out a missed approach as a result of the slow JAI229.
