Incident at 5636N / 07438W (ATM - inaccurate aeronautical information)

Direct controller-pilot communications (DCPC) with an Icelandair Boeing 757-200 (ICE670) on a flight from Denver, CO (KDEN) to Reykjavik, Iceland (BIKF)and an Icelandair Boeing 757-200 (ICE656) from Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN (KMSP) to Reykjavik, Iceland (BIKF) were temporarily interrupted due to the frequency range. No loss of separation. No impact on operations.

Incident at 5308N / 08149W

Deviation of the route of an Icelandair Boeing 737-8 (TFICU/ICE656) from Minneapolis-St. Paul International, MN (KMSP) to Keflavík International, Iceland (BIKF) was detected by the automatic dependent surveillance – contract (ADS-C). The route of the aircraft was DCT GW VP PIDSO 62N050W. The flight plan route was DCT GW RODBO MIBNO MAXAR 63N050W. No impact on operations.

Incident at 62N 050W

An Icelandair Boeing 757 200 (ICE656) from Minneapolis/ St Paul, MN (KMSP) to Keflavik, Iceland (BIKF) progressed 50W indicating an incorrect north coordinate at 30W. Flight was queried, confirmed the incorrect position and was subsequently recleared. No other traffic involved. Flight indicated position was on their flight plan.

Incident at 104 miles northeast of Thunder Bay (ATS operating irregularity, ATM - other)

The Icelandair EHF Boeing 757-200 series aircraft (operating as flight ICE656) was on a scheduled IFR flight from Minneapolis-St. Paul (Wold-Chamberlain) International Airport, MN (U.S.A.) (KMSP) to Keflavík International Airport (Iceland) (BIKF). The Air Canada Embraer ERJ-190-100-IGW aircraft (operating as flight ACA178) was on a scheduled IFR flight from Edmonton International Airport (CYEG) to Toronto (LBPIA) (CYYZ). NAV CANADA staff at Winnipeg ACC reported that ICE656 was deviating for weather at FL370 and had crossing track traffic ACA178 at FL370. During the position hand-off between controllers, the new Sector Controller recognized the confliction and instructed ACA178 to descend to FL360. Separation was assured when the aircraft were 17 miles apart and ACA178 levelled off at FL360. No other aircraft were affected. Ops. impact -- none.

Incident at vicinity of CYQN (ATS operating irregularity)

The Icelandair Boeing 757-300 series aircraft (operating as ICE656) was on a scheduled IFR flight from Minneapolis-St. Paul (Wold Chamberlain) International Airport, MN (U.S.A.) (KMSP) to Keflavik (Iceland) (BIKF). ICE656 was flight planned KMSP YQT YMO J481 YFM....BIKF. After YQT, the flight proceeded over YQN. The Winnipeg controller attempted a hand-off to Edmonton, who replied that they had no information on the flight. It was then realized that the aircraft was not on the route as given on the strip. A Gross Navigation Error report has been filed. Ops. impact -- unknown.
