Incident at FREDERICTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

GGN7475, Beech 1900D, enroute from Halifax (CYHZ) to Fredericton (CYFC), reported a possible bird strike during the landing on Runway 33. An injured bird was recovered at the threshold.

Incident at HALIFAX / STANFIELD INTL NS (CYHZ)

GGN7475, Beech 1900D, enroute from Halifax (CYHZ) to Fredericton (CYFC) reported a suspected blown tire on departure. There was no debris found on the runway. The aircraft returned and landed safely with Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) on stand-by. TSB Case Closed.
UPDATE TSB: A09A0090: The Air Georgian Beechcraft 1900, C-GORC, airplane was taking off from Halifax airport when the flight crew suspected they had blown a tire on the right landing gear. The aircraft returned to the airport where it landed without incident with AARF on stand-by. Company maintenance personnel inspected the tire, wheel and brake assembly and found no discrepancies. The aircraft was returned to service and departed without further incident.
UPDATE Maintenance & Manufacturing: The pilot reported a right hand pull with a shimmy just as they were taking off. The pilot called the tower and asked if there could be an inspection of the runway for tire debris. There was no debris found but the pilot returned to Halifax. The aircraft landed safely and on inspection no fault was found with the aircraft. The aircraft was dispatched with no further faults.

Incident at HALIFAX / STANFIELD INTL NS (CYHZ)

GGN7475, Beech 1900 departed Halifax (CYHZ) for Saint John (CYSJ), could not retract landing gear and returned to the airport. The aircraft landed safely.
UPDATE Maintenance & Manufacturing: The main landing gear relay was replaced and gear swings were carried out . The aircraft checked serviceable.

Incident at FREDERICTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Air Georgian aircraft B190 executed a missed approach on final for Runway 27 due to a TCAS resolution advisory. Other aircraft in the vicinity were several DV20 in the left hand circuit for Runway 27 and a P28A eastbound north of the arrival path of Runway 27 near the VOR.

Incident at FREDERICTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (ELT)

An ELT signal was heard on frequency 121.5 for approximately three to five seconds. The source was unknown. GGN7475, inbound approximately 15 miles southeast at 4,000 ft, indicated hearing the same signal. There were no other aircraft in the area. The Rescue Coordination Centre (RCC) was advised. Nil TSB.

Incident at HALIFAX / STANFIELD INTL NS (CYHZ)

GGN7475, Beech 1900D, enroute from Halifax (CYHZ) to Fredericton (CYFC), departed at 14:09Z. When the flight was 25 miles north of the airport, they advised the Terminal Sector that they were returning to Halifax. There were no problems identified and no assistance was required. The aircraft landed at 14:28Z.

Incident at FREDERICTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (Bird strike)

After landing on Runway 27 at 20:14z, GGN7475, Beech 1900D, reported birds halfway down runway and reported scaring them away upon landing. RED5 inspected the runway and found the partial remains of a gull. RED5 contacted the pilots of GGN7475 on the apron. JZA7668 was informed of the discovered remains. The pilot of JZA7668 reported nothing unusual in the walk around. GGN7475 did not report striking a bird.

Incident at FREDERICTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

GGN7475, Beech 1900D, enroute from Halifax (CYHZ) to Fredericton, on final approach for Runway 33, overshot at 17:44Z due to TKR10 being on RWY 33 and slow to taxi to Taxiway D. GGN7475 landed on Runway 09 at 17:46Z. The aircraft was conducting a visual approach. Nil TSB.

Incident at FREDERICTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

GGN7475, Beech 1900, enroute from Halifax (CYHZ) to Fredericton (CYFC), reported an unsafe gear indication. The flight conducted several orbits north of the airport while discussing the issue with company maintenance personnel. The flight did not declare an emergency and landed safely at 20:20Z. Nil TSB.

Incident at FREDERICTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

GGN7475, Beech 1900, enroute from Halifax (CYHZ) to Fredericton (CYFC) was cleared for a VOR approach to Runway 27, circling to land on Runway 15. ST38 was on Runway 15/33 on the Runway 33 end near the threshold holding short for Runway 09/27. On initial contact GGN7475 advised FSS that he would be circling for Runway 15. ST38 was not told of the traffic and when GGN7475 started turning final for runway 15, ST38 exited to the side of Runway 15/33 closer to the Runway 33 end. Nil TSB.

Incident at FREDERICTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (Overshoot/missed approach, Incursion - runway - aircraft, Diversion)

Cessna 172-M C-GEBS was conducting circuits RWY15. GGN7475 C-GORC Beech 1900D enroute from Halifax (CYHZ) to Fredericton (CYFC) was IFR inbound and cleared for a VOR RWY27 circling runway 15 ETA 1750Z. GGN7475 was advised of active runway and traffic and requested by FSS to report traffic in sight. C-GEBS was advised of B190 traffic inbound. C-GEBS was requested to keep circuit in tight for traffic following. C-GEBS advised they would keep the circuit tight. GGN7475 reported seeing traffic (C172) on final RWY15. C-GEBS conducted stop and go RWY15. GGN7475 reported final RWY15, FSS advised GGN7475 that C172 was stopped on RWY15 and suggested GGN7475 pull up. GGN7475 conducted missed approach at 1753Z. GGN7475 cancelled IFR at 1754Z. GGN7475 arrived RWY15 at 1756z. C-GEBS C172 remained in the circuit RWY15. Nil TSB.

Incident at FREDERICTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Red5 while performing an AVOP test at 1740Z encroached within 150 feet of runway 09/27 on runway 33 while GGN7475 B1900 was on final runway 27 in Fredericton from Halifax. The vehicle had been instructed to hold short. GGN7475 queried if the vehicle was holding short. Nil TSB
Update # 1 Aerodromes and Air Navigation: During an AOVP test the vehicle approached within 200 feet of a runway. The training process has been revisited and changes have been incorporated which include: 1. More orientation with Instructor required before testing. 2. Introduced mandatory quarterly testing for anyone who is not a regular airside operator.

Incident at FREDERICTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (Alleged Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) infraction, ATS operating irregularity)

Date of occurrence changed to 2004/09/13
GGN 7475 was cleared to 2300ft and was observed on radar to continue to 1700ft. The controller then cleared the aircraft to 2300ft again. Other traffic was CFCEO, conducting a left hand visual approach for Runway 33. ATC did not effect the communication transfer on the GGN7475 prior to the aircraft entering the MF. ATC is conduction preliminary investigation regarding ATC compliance with communication and coordination procedures. Nil TSB
