A Lufthansa Airbus A330-343 (DAIKH/DLH445) from Atlanta, GA (KATL) to Frankfurt, Germany (EDDF) declared a medical emergency, diverted to Gander, NL (CYQX), and landed safely at 0026Z. No impact on operations.

Incident at ST. JOHN'S INTL NL (CYYT)

DLH445, Airbus A330-300, enroute from Atlanta (KATL) to Frankfurt (EDDF), was eastbound on NAT "T" at 37,000 feet when the flight declared a medical emergency and requested clearance to divert to St. John's (CYYT). The aircraft was cleared as requested and landed at 03:32Z without further incident.

Incident at ST. JOHN'S INTL NL (CYYT)

An Air Bus 340 Lufthansa Airlines aircraft enroute from Hartsfield-Jackson Intl (KATL) to Frankfurt Int'l (EDDF / FRA) . At time 0305Z, DLH445 declared a medical emergency and requested direct to St John's (CYYT). The flight carried out contingency procedures to descend from FL360 to FL300. Upon reaching FL300, the flight was cleared as requested to CYYT.

Incident at North of Yarmouth (CYQI) (Weather balloon, meteor, rocket, CIRVIS/UFO)

Several aircraft reported a very bright light and or meteor disintegrating in the area of Yarmouth (CYQI). Flights included ACA110, Embraer E190 enroute from Ottawa (CYOW) to Halifax (CYHZ); DLH445, Airbus A340-300, enroute from Atlanta (KATL) to Frankfurt (EDDF) at 37,000 ft.; DAL12, Airbus A330-300 at 33,000 ft.; CLX659, Boeing 747-400 at 35,000 ft.; and AWE732, Airbus A330 at 37,000 ft.

Incident at Gander Oceanic

DLH445,A343 enroute Atlanta (KATL) to Frankfurt (EDDF) at time 0123Z approximate position 55N040W on Track X at 37,000 feet, aircraft requested to descend to 33,000 feet due technical problems(failure of auto fuel system). Flight did not declare an emergency. ATC was unable to issue clearance due traffic. Aircraft turned right of track 15NM to the south and descended to 31,000 feet. After reaching 31,000 feet, ATC cleared flight to resume routing on Track X. Nil TSB

Incident at ST. JOHN'S INTL NL (CYYT)

DLH445, Airbus A-340-300, enroute from Atlanta (KATL) to Frankfurt (EDDF), advised of a medical emergency and requested clearance to divert to St. John?s (CYYT) due to a 32 year-old female passenger with low blood pressure. The aircraft was cleared from its present position direct to St. John?s at 35,000 ft. and landed at 02:40Z without incident. An ambulance met the flight on arrival. Nil TSB.

While in Montréal high-level airspace, DLH466, a Lufthansa Boeing 747, declared a medical emergency and requested a diversion to Goose Bay. Medical personnel at the destination were notified.

Incident at Gander Domestic Airspace (ATS operating irregularity)

AMT8183 L101 and DLH445 A340 were on reciprocal tracks which diverged west of 50W. Both aircraft were at FL380 with an estimated passing time of 0019z. Vertical separation of 1000 feet required from 0004z until both aircraft radar identified. AMT8183 was not radar identified until 0012z. Lateral spacing between tracks at passing point was 18 NM.
