On departure, the pilot of a Coastal Pacific Aviation Cessna 172P (C-GSPY) from Abbotsford, BC (CYXX) to Abbotsford, BC (CYXX) reported that the engine was not developing full rotations per minute (RPM). The pilot returned to land with the Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) unit on standby. No operational impact.

Accidental emergency locator transmitter (ELT) signal activation from a Coastal Pacific Aviation Cessna 172P (C-GSPY) while being transported by truck between Pemberton and Whistler. Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) Victoria advised. No operational impact.

The Pemberton, BC (CYPS) airport manager called the Kamloops Flight information Centre (FIC) and reported that a Coastal Pacific Aviation Ltd. Cessna 172P (C-GSPY) from Abbotsford, BC (CYXX) to Pemberton, BC (CYPS) attempted to land on a snow covered runway. The aircraft sustained damage to the propeller and the port wing tip. There were no injuries to the persons on board.
Update TSB Report #A20P0026: The Coastal Pacific Aviation, Cessna 172P, C-GSPY, was conducting flight training departing from Abbotsford Airport (CYXX), BC and making a short stop at Pemberton Airport (CYPS), BC with 2 crew and 1 passenger on board. During landing at CYPS the aircraft veered to the edge of the snow covered runway and struck the left wingtip and propeller in a snowbank damaging them both. There were no injuries.

Vehicle (RED2) was given permission to enter Runway 01 from Taxiway C with a Coastal Pacific Aviation Ltd. Cessna 172P (C-GSPY) from Abbotsford, BC (CYXX) to Abbotsford, BC (CYXX) on short final. Permission was rescinded just as the aircraft was touching down. Vehicle had not crossed the hold short line yet and was told several times to stop before coming to a stop past the hold short line. Aircraft came to a full stop, vehicle exited the runway back on Taxiway C.

A Coastal Pacific Aviation Cessna 172P (C-GSPY) from Abbotsford, BC (CYXX) to Abbotsford, BC (CYXX) opted to reject its take-off due to rotations per minute (RPM) not increasing to Full Power. Aircraft was able to exit Runway 01 without any problems. No operational impact.
UPDATE from Airworthiness: A Civil Aviation Safety Inspector (CASI) looked into this occurrence. Student pilot reported that they could not get more than 2100 rotations per minute (RPM) on the takeoff roll, so they aborted the take-off (T/O). Defect was recorded in the Journey Logbook. RPM ground tested and got 2300 RPM static and suspected carburator ice, first flight of the day for this aircraft. Aircraft returned to service. No further faults found.

A Coastal Pacific Aviation Cessna 172P (C-GSPY) from Abbotsford, BC (CYXX) to Abbotsford, BC (CYXX) aborted their takeoff on Runway 01 due to a control issue. A Coastal Pacific Aviation Cessna 172M C-GUKI from CYXX to CYXX was the next departure, and was instructed to abort their takeoff by air traffic control (ATC).

After landing on Runway 01, the pilot of a Coastal Pacific Aviation Ltd. Cessna 172P (C-GSPY) from Abbotsford, BC (CYXX) to Abbotsford, BC (CYXX) taxied off the runway into the grass located between Runway 01 and Taxiway Alpha, near the end of Runway 01. Minor evidence of a propeller strike was discovered, both on the propeller and in the snow on the grass. Two flight school Cessna 172 aircraft in the training circuit were told to "pull up and go around" as a result.

A loss of alerting occurred for C-GSPQ when CYCG FSS sent an arrival message to the CYKA FIC incorrectly indicating an arrival of C-GSPQ when the correct arrival should have been for C-GSPY.

N6176V LA04 was on a VFR flight plan to Trail. Aircraft landed at Castlegar NORDO, causing C-GSPY, C172 to overshoot.

The pilot of C-GSPI reported gear collapsed while attempting to land at Delta Air Park. No reported injuries to pilot, extent of damage to aircraft unknown.
