Incident at Moncton

C-GSJF PA38 experienced a loss of power shortly after departure in Moncton on runway 29. Pilot declared an emergency and turned around to land on runway 11 without further incident. Update From Maintenance and Manufacturing : On takeoff, the pilot of the PA38 C-GSJF heard a loud bang followed by a loss of power and immediately landed. Maintenance found the lower spark plug " blown away " from the #2 cylinder. Initial investigation revealed that the spark plug threaded insert was also damaged and necessitated the replacement of the cylinder. Nil TSB
