A Mitchinson Flying Service Cessna 172N (C-GBGV) from Saskatoon/John G. Diefenbaker Intl, SK (CYXE) to Saskatoon/John G. Diefenbaker Intl, SK (CYXE) was unable to retract flaps after departing Runway 27 and requested immediate landing on Runway 15. A Transwest Air flight (TW01T) and a Mitchinson Flying Service Cessna 172S (C-FARC) were instructed to conduct an overshoot Runway 27.

Incident at 10NM SASKATOON SK VORTAC (YXE)

A Mitchinson Flying Service Cessna 172N (C-GBGV) from Saskatoon/John G. Diefenbaker Intl, SK (CYXE) to Saskatoon/John G. Diefenbaker Intl, SK (CYXE) used their cellphone to contact Saskatoon, SK (YXE) tower and advised that they had an electrical failure and were returning to CYXE. The aircraft landed at 1950Z without further incident.

C-GBGV, a Cessna 172, was on a VFR flight from Saskatoon to Prince Albert when the pilot contacted Prince Albert FSS and requested a DF steer. The aircraft arrived safely at 1803Z.

Incident at BRANDON MUNI MB (CYBR)

Brandon FSS staff observed C-GBGV, a Cessna 172, after landing on Runway 08 exiting via Taxiway Alpha. The pilot of C-GBGV had not contacted FSS, which had attempted to contact him with no reply. The pilot then called to advise he was clear of the runways. The pilot advised that he had attempted contact at 20 miles and 5 miles. He stated he may have a faulty headset.

Incident at SASKATOON / JOHN G. DIEFENBAKER INTL SK (CYXE)

Saskatoon FSS received a report that a parked aircraft had flipped on its back at the General Aviation Apron. Airport security responded and confirmed that C-GBGV, a Cessna 172 had received significant damage. AFF responded. An ELT had started to transmit earlier at 0639Z, co-incidental with wind gusts up to 40 knots at the field. The ELT was turned off at 0807Z.

Incident at Saskatoon, SK

The pilot of C-GBGV, a Cessna 172, was operating southwest of the Saskatoon Airport doing photo work, when he advised that he was returning due to alternator problems. The a/c landed safely on Runway 26 at 1634Z and no other a/c were inconvenienced. OPI - Maintenance and Manufacturing UPDATE M. & M. reported that the operator informed that the field wire was found broken off at the alternator field terminal. Wire has been repaired, alternator is alternating, and an SDR is being submitted.
