Incident at GREATER MONCTON ROMEO LEBLANC INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (Laser interference)

Shortly after departing, the pilot of a Great Hobbies Piper PA-28-140 (C-FVLA) from Moncton, NB (CYQM) to Charlottetown, PE (CYYG) reported green light beam. Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) notified. No other impact on operations.

Incident at WINGHAM / RICHARD W. LeVAN ON (CPR7)

The pilot of a Great Hobbies Piper PA-28-140 (C-FVLA) from Oshkosh, WI (KOSH) to Wingham, ON (CPR7) called to close a VFR transborder flight plan. No active plan on file. A call to United States (U.S.) flight service station (FSS) revealed he had filed but failed to call them on the radio to activate.

An ELT signal heard and the resulting search determined that the source of the weak signal was C-FVLA, Piper PA28 140 on Apron 2 in Charlottetown (CYYG). The owner was contacted and the ELT was reset.

Incident at CHARLOTTETOWN AIRPORT

C-FVLA, Piper PA28 140, enroute from Summerside (CYSU) to Charlottetown (CYYG), experienced a communication failure while inbound to Charlottetown. The pilot followed NORDO (no radio) procedures and landed without incident. One flight school training aircraft remained outside the zone during this time.
