A Mount Royal University Piper PA-34-220T (C-FIXL) from Calgary/Springbank, AB (CYBW) to Calgary/Springbank, AB (CYBW) was instructed to climb to 7 000 feet in the missed approach at Old-Didsbury, AB (CEA3). C-FIXL read back "8000 feet". Read back was acknowledged. No impact on operations.

Incident at CALGARY / SPRINGBANK AB (CYBW)

A Mount Royal University Piper PA-34-220T (C-FIXL) from Calgary/Springbank, AB (CYBW) to Calgary/Springbank, AB (CYBW) declared an emergency due to an indication of a landing gear malfunction. A fly-by showed that the landing gear was down, but the gear was not confirmed to be locked. The aircraft requested emergency services to be on standby, and 911 was called. The aircraft landed without incident at 2250Z.

A Mount Royal University Piper PA-34-220T (C-FEKL) from Calgary/Springbank, AB (CYBW) to Calgary/Springbank, AB (CYBW) called ready for departure. Tower instructed a Mount Royal University Piper PA-34-220T (C-FIXL) to make a left turn and climb to 5500. C-FEKL was then observed taxiing onto the runway with a Calgary Flying Club Champion 7ECA (C-GIBD) from Calgary/Springbank, AB (CYBW) to Calgary/Springbank, AB (CYBW) at 1/4 mile final, cleared for a touch and go. C-GIBD was pulled up by the tower.

A Mount Royal University Piper PA-34-220T (C-FIXL) from Calgary/Springbank, AB (CYBW) to Calgary/Springbank, AB (CYBW) landed on Runway 17, blew a tire and became disabled on the runway. Traffic was re-routed to Runway 26.

There was a slight delay for a Mount Royal Univeristy Piper PA-34-220T (C-FIXL) from Calgary/Springbank, AB (CYBW) to Calgary/Springbank, AB (CYBW) waiting for IFR clearance.

A Calgary Flying Club Cessna 172N (C-GKMH) on a flight from Calgary/Springbank, AB (CYBW) and landing at Calgary/Springbank, AB (CYBW) in the circuit for Runway 26 was cleared for touch and go and instructed to maintain runway heading on the go. The pilot turned crosswind and had to be corrected due to a Mount Royal University Piper PA-34-220T (C-FIXL) on a flight from Calgary/Springbank, AB (CYBW) and landing at Calgary/Springbank, AB (CYBW) on the overshoot Runway 35.

A Mount Royal University Piper PA-34-220T (C-FIXL) on a flight departing Calgary/Springbank, AB (CYBW) and landing at Calgary/Springbankl (CYBW) was conducting practice ILS35 and was instructed to remain south of the threshold of Runway 35 while in the missed to a heading of 200 deg. C-FIXL started the turn, but was north of the threshold of 35, approaching Runway 26 (active). No impact.

A Mount Royal University Piper PA-34-220T (C-FIXL) from Calgary/Springbank, AB (CYBW) to Calgary/Springbank, AB (CYBW) reported possible gear trouble, and did a low approach over A. The aircraft gear appeared to be down. The aircraft was offered emergency equipment on standby, but the aircraft refused and landed safely at 2305Z.

The aircraft departed without a clearance. The aircraft was issued instructions to overtake traffic ahead. No impact to operations.

A PCTM Process Controls & Technology Management Inc. Piper PA-34-220T (C-FIXL) from Springbank, AB (CYBW) to Grande Prairie, AB (CYQU) touched down Runway 25 at 2323Z and was unable to stabilize the aircraft on the runway. C-FIXL powered up and joined a left hand circuit for Runway 25. C-FIXL landed at 2328Z. No operational impact.

Incident at SLAVE LAKE AB (CYZH)

A PCTM Process Controls & Technology Management Inc. Piper PA-34-220T (C-FIXL) from Grande Prairie, AB (CYQU) to Slave Lake, AB (CYZH) filed a flight plan arriving CYZH at 1544Z. At 1644Z aircraft entered the information request (INREQ) stage of a communications search. At 1710Z, the pilot called to close the flight plan which got forgotten. Unnecessary communications search performed as pilot did not update or close their flight plan prior to overdue time.

Incident at MUSKOKA ON (CYQA) (Aerodrome, runway or taxiway shutdown)

The privately-operated Alliston Heights Development Corporation Piper PA-34-220T aircraft (C-FIXL) had just landed after a VFR flight from Toronto (Buttonville) Municipal Airport (CYKZ) to Muskoka Airport (CYQA). NAV CANADA staff at Timmins F.S.S. reported that the aircraft landed on runway 36 at 1557Z and blew the right main landing gear tire. One (1) aircraft was required to complete a missed approach and a second aircraft was re-routed to runway 09. C-FIXL was able to exit the runway at taxiway BRAVO. A subsequent runway inspection at 1603Z found no debris.
