A 9736140 Canada British Aerospace Jetstream Model 3212 (C-FFPA/PSC584) from Quebec/Jean Lesage, QC (CYQB) to Montreal/Saint-Hubert, QC (CYHU), which was on final for Runway 06L, conducted a go-around following a traffic alert and collision avoidance system (TCAS) resolution advisory (RA) involving the presence of another aircraft on right base Runway 06R. PSC584 conducted a left-hand circuit before landing.

Incident at MONT-JOLI QC (CYYY)

An emergency locator transmitter (ELT) signal was heard several times on frequency 121.5. A Pascan British Aerospace Jetstream Model 3212 (C-FFPA/PSC835), from Quebec/Jean Lesage, QC (CYQB) to Mont-Joli, QC (CYYY) and in the circuit, reported that it had probably caused the signal. The aircraft landed at 1302Z and called maintenance. The signal stopped at around 1315Z. No impact on operations.

At 2137Z, a 9736140 Canada Inc. British Aerospace Jetstream Model 3212 (C-FFPA/PSC882) from Wabush, NL (CYWK) to Sept-Iles, QC (CYZV) advised it was 8NM South, altitude 060, and would return to CYWK due to a faulty landing gear (unable to retract). The aircraft cancelled IFR and landed Runway 36 at 2145Z without issue. No emergency declared. No assistance required. No impact to operations.

Incident at BONAVENTURE QC (CYVB)

Incident report n° 14548: a British Aerospace Jetstream 3212 operated by Pascan (PSC481), from Bonaventure (CYVB), QC, to the Magdalen Islands (CYGR), QC, was struck by a group of at least four birds on taking off from Runway 31. The aircraft returned and landed at CYVB without incident. A bird (a Wilson?s Snipe (Gallinago delicata)) had gone through an engine, and the aircraft remained grounded for a week for repairs.
UPDATE: TSB#A16Q0171: a Pascan Aviation BAE Jetstream 32 (C-FFPA/PSC481) was flying IFR from Bonaventure, QC (CYVB) to Îles-de-la-Madeleine, QC (CYGR). Immediately after takeoff from Runway 31, the aircraft reported a bird strike. The right engine (Garrett TPE-331-12UHR-702H) began to make an unusual noise and its temperature rose higher than the left engine. The flight crew made a decision to return and landed without incident at CYVB. No injuries were sustained. A post-flight inspection by the crew revealed damages to the blades on the right engine compressor. The engine was replaced and the aircraft was returned to service.

Incident at 30 NM W MONT-JOLI QC (CYYY)

UPDATE: TSB#A15Q0139: Pascan Aviation Jetstream 32, registered C-FFPA, flight number PSC701, was approximately 30 miles west of Mont-Joli, QC (CYYY), at FL210, en route to Matane, QC (CYME) when the crew noticed a strong odour of burned plastic after having tried to turn up the heat in the aircraft and noting that the air outlets were extremely hot. Some light smoke was observed in the cockpit, while heavy bluish smoke was observed in the rear of the cabin. The QRH cabin smoke procedure was carried out even though no warning displayed on the display panel . An emergency was declared and a rapid descent was conducted. At approximately 2,000 feet, a significant reduction in the amount of smoke was observed. The aircraft diverted to CYYY, where it landed without incident. Once the aircraft had landed, the cockpit windows were opened to evacuate the smoke. Firefighters arrived a few minutes later and confirmed that there was no trace of fire. The maintenance crew discovered that the left-hand temperature control valve was stuck open. The valve was replaced and the aircraft returned to service.
A British Aerospace Jetstream Model 3212 (C-FFPA/ PSC701) on a flight from St-Hubert (CYHU), QC, to Mont-Joli (CYYY), QC, declared an emergency as a result of the presence of smoke in the crew compartment. The aircraft landed safely at 1607Z. No operational impact.

Incident at MONTRÉAL / ST-HUBERT QC (CYHU)

A Pascan Aviation British Aerospace Jetstream Model 3212 (C-FFPA/ PSC999), from Montréal/St-Hubert (CYHU), QC, to Bagotville (CYBG), QC, reported to the tower, after takeoff, that it thought it had a landing gear problem. It asked to conduct a VFR circuit so that the tower could check if the gear was properly retracted. After the passage, PSC999 reported that everything was in order and that it was continuing its IFR flight. No impact on operations.

Incident at 10 NM E MONTRÉAL / ST-HUBERT QC (CYHU)

A Pascan Aviation British Aerospace BAE Jetstream 31 (PSC822), from St-Hubert, QC (CYHU), to Val-d'Or, QC (CYVO), declared an emergency on departure from CYHU due to an engine failure. PSC822 returned to land without incident at CYHU at 1000Z.
UPDATE A14Q0157: A Pascan Aviation Jetstream 3212 (C-FFPA/PSC822) was on an IFR flight from Montréal/St-Hubert (CYHU) to Val-d?Or, Que. During the initial climb after takeoff from Runway 06L, the TORQUE indications and the right engine exhaust gas temperature (EGT) started to fluctuate. The TORQUE was at 40% and the EGT fluctuated greatly. The crew declared an emergency and asked to return for a Runway 24R instrument landing system (ILS) landing. Near the final approach fix (FAF), the right engine (Garrett, TP331-12UHR-702H) stopped. The crew conducted the applicable check list from memory and the aircraft landed without incident on Runway 24R and taxied to the company?s facilities. The maintenance personnel were able to reproduce the outage during verifications on the ground. The torque turbine limiter (TTL) appeared to be the source of the problem.
