ARN898 BA46 final for Runway 33 reported unsafe gear indication. Aircraft overshot and did left hand circuit. Reported gear ok and no assist required. Landed Runway 33 at 1330Z. Nil TSB

Incident at GANDER INTL NL (CYQX)

ARN898 BA146 landing Gander reported small bird strike at 800 ft AGL over approach lights while on final approach for runway 13. Aircraft landed without further incident. Pilot inspected aircraft and reported no damage. Nil TSB

November 11, 1997

Incident at St. John's NFLD

ACA860 B767 reported over the "S" NDB for landing runway 29 at 0246z. Aircraft executed a missed approach at 0247z when advised ARN898 was backtracking runway 29 to exit on runway 16. Nil TSB

June 7, 1997

Incident at HALIFAX / STANFIELD INTL NS (CYHZ)

When the landing gear was retracted after take-off the unsafe gear indication light illuminated. The aircraft returned to Halifax and landed without incident. No assistance required. Maintenance found that the pin that connects the right hand main gear door to the drag link had been installed incorrectly during maintenance and that this prevented the door from closing fully. The pin was reinstalled correctly and the aircraft was returned to service.

June 6, 1997

Incident at 50 nm east of Halifax.

The BAe 146, callsign ARN898 was Halifax enroute St. John's when the crew advised that they had an unsafe gear indication. The aircraft returned to Halifax and held for a short period of time. The pilot then requested a clearance to St. John's at a lower TAS and Flight Level. TSB evaluating.

May 17, 1997

Incident at HALIFAX / STANFIELD INTL NS (CYHZ)

ARN898 BA146 departing Halifax received a flap fault warning when selecting flaps to the retract position. Aircraft burned off fuel for 15 minutes and returned to Halilfax, landing without further incident at 0134z. The tight outboard flap torque limiter was observed locked. Maintenance adjusted the right outboard flap screwjack chains, lubricated the flap ball nuts and returned the aircraft to service.

Incident at HALIFAX / STANFIELD INTL NS (CYHZ)

ARN898 departed Halifax at 0109z. Pilot advised of flap problem at 0115. Aircraft circled the airport for 15 minutes to burn fuel and determine cause. Landed safely at 0134. TSB investigating.

April 26, 1997

Incident at St. John's NFLD (Aerodrome - runway or taxiway surface condition)

ACA880, ATL488 and ARN898 were all arriving at St John's and due to the freezing drizzle and snow on the runway there were delays up to one hour and seven minutes.

April 19, 1997

Incident at Gander NFLD

ARN 898 was on the take-off run at Gander when the #2 engine low oil pressure light came on just prior to rotation. The pilot rejected the take-off and returned to the ramp. Maintenance added three litres of oil to the engine and returned the aircraft to service.

May 20, 1996

Incident at ST. JOHN'S INTL NL (CYYT)

The aircraft carried out a missed approach to RWY 11 at 0155z. During execution of the overshoot the #1 engine fire warning came on, went off for a few seconds, then remained on. The crew secured the engine and declared an emergency. During the second approach the crew stated they did not have any glideslope indication. The aircraft was vectored for approach to RWY 29 but elected to divert to Gander where they landed safely at 0300z. TSB evaluating.
