The previous arrival reported foreign object debris (FOD) on Runway 24L. The Tower initiated a go around to an Air Canada Airbus A321-211 (ACA122) from Calgary, AB (CYYC) to Toronto/Lester B. Pearson, ON (CYYZ).

Pearson, ON (CYYZ) reported a traffic alert and collision avoidance system (TCAS) resolution advisory (RA) climbing to FL350 beneath a WestJet Boeing 737-800 (WJA1681) from New York/John F. Kennedy, NY (KJFK) to Calgary, AB (CYYC) level at FL360. ACA122 elected to level at FL346. No other operational impact

Less than the required separation existed between an Air Canada Airbus A321-211 (ACA122) from Calgary, AB (CYYC) to Toronto, ON (CYYZ) and a WestJet Boeing 737 700 (WJA17) from St. John's, NL (CYYT) to CYYZ while both were being sequenced for Runway 23.

An Air Canada Airbus A321-211 (ACA122) from Calgary, AB (CYYC) to Toronto, ON (CYYZ) declared a medical emergency, advised they had made their own arrangements through company. Aircraft landed runway 24R at 1742Z. No operational impact.

An Air Canada Airbus A321-211 (ACA122) from Calgary, AB (CYYC) to Toronto, ON (CYYZ) departed Runway 35R and reported a possible bird strike. The aircraft continued on and a runway inspection discovered no remains.

A WestJet Boeing 737 800 (WJA431) from Toronto, ON (CYYZ) to Edmonton, AB (CYEG) in descent to FL340 from FL380 reported a traffic alert and collision avoidance system (TCAS) resolution advisory (RA) and did a slight climb. At the time of the TCAS RA an Air Canada Airbus A321-211 (ACA122) from Calgary, AB (CYYC) to Toronto, ON (CYYZ) was level at FL330 in the opposite direction on the same track. No operational impact.

TOW502 (vehicle) was given authorization to proceed onto Taxiway F and to hold short of Taxiway G. TOW502 was holding on Taxiway F when an Air Canada Airbus A320 (ACA122) from Calgary, AB (CYYC) to Toronto / Lester B. Pearson, ON (CYYZ) was subsequently given taxi authorization via G, F, R, B to Runway 35R. ACA122 taxied via G and passed by Taxiway F where TOW502 was located.

An Air Canada Airbus A320 (ACA122), from Calgary, AB (CYYC) to Toronto, On (CYYZ), was given taxi authorization via Taxiways G,F,R, and B to Runway 35R. ACA122 continued on Taxiway GOLF and taxied across Runway 29 without a clearance.

An Air Canada Airbus A321-211 (ACA122) from Calgary, AB (CYYC) to Toronto, ON (CYYZ) departing Runway 35R was asked to report the standard instrument departure (SID) turn to Tower. Tower observed ACA122 in the turn but ACA122 had already switched to departure frequency. No impact on operations.

An Air Canada Airbus A320-211 (C-FFWI/ACA122) from Calgary, AB (CYYC) to Winnipeg, MB (CYWG) reported a gear door indication and declared a PAN PAN and requested Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) on arrival. The aircraft landed safely at 1606Z.
UPDATE: TSB#A15C0143: The Air Canada Airbus A320-211 (C-FFWI), operating as flight ACA122, was en route from Calgary, AB (CYYC) to Toronto, ON (CYYZ). During the climb an "L/G SHOCK ABSORBER FAULT" ECAM caution was generated. There was buffeting associated with an amber nose landing gear (NLG) door indication on the ECAM display. The crew elected to divert to Winnipeg, MB (CYWG) while at FL270. An emergency was declared with ATC as a precaution. The subsequent landing was uneventful with ARFF responding. Maintenance personnel adjusted the target gap on two proximity sensors and tightened the NLG target support. The NLG door left and right spring-cartridge control rods were replaced. The NLG door up-lock was replaced.

An Air Canada Embraer E190 (ACA122) fro Calgary, AB (CYYC) to Toronto, ON (CYYZ) departing Runway 35L reported that a coyote crossed in front of the aircraft when on the take-off roll. No impact to operations.

A WestJet Encore de Havilland DHC 8 402 (C-FIWE/ WEN3112) from Thunder Bay, ON (CYQT) to Toronto, ON (CYYZ) reported a possible bird strike upon landing Runway 05. The intact remains of one bird were recovered; pilot informed accordingly. An Air Canada Embraer E190 (ACA122) from Calgary, AB (CYYC) to Toronto, ON (CYYZ) instructed to overshoot during inspection.

An Air Canada Embraer E190 (ACA122) from Calgary, AB (CYYC) to Toronto, ON (CYYZ) declared PAN PAN PAN at 1625Z citing flight control issues. Non Emergency. The pilot requested Runway 23. ACA122 landed Runway 23 at 1751Z without incident. No operational impact.
Update TSB Report #A14O0146: A "SPOILER FAULT" Engine-indicating and crew-alerting system (EICAS) message was generated on Air Canada Flight 122 (ERJ 190-100, registration C-FNAI) while enroute to Toronto/LBPIA. The quick reference handbook (QRH) was actioned and a PAN PAN declared. The aircraft landed at Toronto/LBPA uneventfully. Maintenance replaced the pilot inboard control-yoke position sensor.

Clearance instructed an Air Canada Airbus A320 (ACA122) from Calgary, AB (CYYC) to Toronto, ON (CYYZ) to contact E Ground at spot 15. Pilot called E Ground at spot 15 but continued onto "J" without clearance from ground. The aircraft taxied in front of a United Airlines Airbus A319 (UAL356) from Calgary, AB (CYYC) to Denver, CO (KDEN) who was eastbound on "J" abeam "JV". Minimal impact to operation.

A WestJet, Boeing 737 700 (WJA735), from London, ON (CYXU) to Calgary, AB (CYYC), was overshot Runway 35L due to Tower frequency 118.4 failing. An Air Canada Airbus A320 200 (ACA122), from Calgary, AB (CYYC) to Toronto, ON (CYYZ), was in position Runway 35L awaiting takeoff clearance, and WJA735 was on final Runway 35L. Receive on 118.4 failed, transmit was serviceable. Tower could not hear any responses from aircraft that were exiting the runways, ACA122 in position or WJA735 on final. TIL was used to communicate with WJA735 and initiate the overshoot. Frequency 118.4 was serviceable after approximately a minute.

An Air Canada Embraer E190 (ACA122) departed Calgary, AB (CYYC) for Toronto, ON (CYYZ) and was approximately 60nm ESE of CYYC when the pilot reported an engine vibration and was returning to Calgary, AB. The aircraft landed safely runway 17R at 1613Z, no impact to operations.
UPDATE: TSB Report#A14W0035: An Air Canada Embraer E190 (C-FFYM) was operating as ACA122 on an IFR flight from Calgary, Alberta (CYYC) to Toronto, Ontario (CYYZ). At approximately 60 nm east southeast of CYYC, ACA122 experienced high vibrations on the number 1 engine (General Electric, CF34-10E5A1). The crew elected to return to CYYC. Air Canada maintenance staff performed an N1 balance integrated engine vibration monitor (IEVM) on the number 1 engine. The fan blades were removed, cleaned and lubricated but vibration values remained high. A blade shuffle, followed by a fan balancing was performed which resulted in a lowering of vibration levels. The aircraft was returned to service with no further reported issues.

An Air Canada Embraer E190 (ACA205) from Calgary, AB (CYYC) to Vancouver, BC (CYVR) departing runway 17R reported a possible bird strike. Air Canada (ACA122), United Air Lines (UAL283), Westjet (WJA313A), Westjet (WJA165) all delayed 10-15 minutes for inspection to be completed.

A Canjet Airlines Boeing 737-8AS (C-FTCZ/ CJA793) from Cancun (MMUN) to Toronto, ON (CYYZ) was instructed to commence an overshoot to runway 24R due to an Air Canada Airbus A320-211 (C-FDSU/ ACA122) from Toronto, ON (CYYZ) to St. John's, NL (CYYT) was slow initiate takeoff and depart runway 24R. No operational impact.

An Air Canada Airbus A320 (ACA122) from Calgary, AB (CYYC) to Toronto, ON (CYYZ) reported that he had an TCAS RA advisory to descend when he was short final runway 05. The crew reported they descended below the glide slope and did not see any other aircraft.

UPDATE: TSB REPORT#A13W0140: An Air Canada Airbus A319 (C-FYJE) was operating as ACA122 on a flight from Calgary, Alberta to Toronto, Ontario. After departing Calgary, ACA122 advised ATC of a nose gear unsecure warning and declared an emergency. ACA122 returned to Calgary with ARFF standing by. Maintenance replaced the nose landing gear uplock assembly.
An Air Canada Airbus A319 (ACA122) departed Calgary, AB (CYYC) for Toronto, ON (CYYZ) and was just leaving the circuit when the pilot reported a possible nose gear problem. The pilot then advised he was declaring an emergency and was returning to Calgary. Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) was standing by and the aircraft landed safely at 1507 UTC. Minor impact on operations as the runway was shut down for a few minutes to allow ACA122 to leave the runway and for Calgary Airport Authority to conduct a Foreign Object Debris (FOD) check.

An Air Canada Airbus A319 (ACA122) from Calgary, AB (CYYC) to Toronto, ON (CYYZ) reported they may have hit 4 birds on departure off runway 16. Runway inspection was done and the field foreman found one dead gull.

A Westjet Boeing 737 (operating as WJA692) on a IFR flight from Kelowna (CYLW) to Calgary (CYYC) was instructed to hold short of taxiway "J" for an Air Canada Airbus A320 (operating as ACA122) on a IFR flight from Calgary (CYYC) to Toronto (CYYZ). WJA692 read back hold short instruction. WJA692 failed to hold short and Ground Control then instructed ACA122 to give way to WJA692.

An Air Canada Airbus A319 (operating as ACA122) on a IFR flight taxied onto taxiway G prior to contacting ground. No conflicting traffic. No impact on operations.

An arriving Air Canada Airbus A320-214 (C-FXCD/ ACA122) from Toronto, ON (CYYZ) to St. John's, NL (CYYT) reported a bird strike on roll out runway 16. Runway inspection did not reveal any evidence.

An Air Canada Airbus A319-114 on rollout after landing in St. John's, NL (CYYT) from Toronto, ON (CYYZ) report a bird strike. 1 robin was found. There was no impact to operations.

After a Kalitta Charters Boeing 747-200 (N708CK / CKS513) landed on runway 11, arriving from Houston, Texas (KIAH) the runways were closed pending the results of a FOD (Foreign Object Debris) inspection. An Air Canada Airbus A320 (C-FPDN /ACA122) from Toronto, ON (CYYZ) was delayed for approximately 5 minutes while waiting for runways to re-open. ACA122 landed safely on runway 11 at 2143Z.

The Jazz Air Limited Partnership de Havilland DHC-8-100 series aircraft (operating as flight JZA7829) was taxiing out in preparation for departure on a scheduled IFR flight from Toronto (LBPIA) (CYYZ) to Timmins Municipal Airport (CYTS). The Air Canada Airbus A-320 aircraft (operating as flight ACA122) had just landed after a scheduled IFR flight from Calgary International Airport (CYYC) to Toronto (LBPIA) (CYYZ). NAV CANADA staff at Toronto Tower advised that the JZA7829 flight crew was instructed to taxi via taxiway SIERRA, cross runway 33R and turn left on taxiway ECHO, hold short of taxiway ECHO-ALPHA. As the aircraft turned onto taxiway SIERRA, JZA7829 had to stop for traffic (ACA122) crossing right to left on taxiway BRAVO. A traffic advisory was not provided. Ops. impact -- unknown.

The Air Canada Airbus A320 (operating as flight ACA122) taxied from apron 1 to apron 2 via taxiways G and J without contacting ground and receiving clearance. ACA122 was exiting apron 2 via taxiway GD at the same time.

ACA122 taxiing for de-icing at Apron 2 contacted ground at taxi position #14 requesting clearance to Apron 2 for de-ice. Ground advised ACA122 that J taxiway was uncontrolled up until Position #12 and that they could taxi their discretion and contact Iceman Frequency at position #12. ACA122 missed the left turn into Apron 2, Iiceman instructed ACA122 to taxi ahead via J & G and transition back through Apron 1 to Apron 2. ACA122 was not switched back to ground frequency for clearance on to J & G. They did advise Clearance Delivery as they entered Apron 1 via G that they were taxiing back through Apron 1 for Apron 2. No conflicting traffic or impact on operations.

ACA122, Airbus A320, enroute from Toronto (CYYZ) to St. John?s (CYYT), initiated a missed approach to Runway 16 due to an unfavourable pilot weather report (PIREP) from a recently landed aircraft. ACA122 landed safely at 22:48Z on Runway 29.

The Air Canada Airbus A320-211 aircraft (operating as ACA122) was concluding a scheduled IFR flight from Calgary International Airport (CYYC) to Toronto (LBPIA) (CYYZ). NAV CANADA staff at Toronto Tower reported that the flight crew advised of a passenger that required medical assistance and requested priority. Aircraft landed on runway 06L and was expedited to the gate.

The flight crew of ACA122 southeast bound at FL290 reported a weak ELT signal 10 NM south of YEL at 1710Z. JRCC Trenton staff were advised.

Tower controller issued missed approach instructions to WJA538 B737 800 runway 34 due to ACA122 E190 (previous arrival) unable to exit runway 34 because of slippery conditions. JZA8393 DHC8 102 (departure) in postion runway 34 unable to exit runway due to ground traffic on taxiway C and taxiway A. JZA8393 delayed for 3 minutes. WJA538 had to divert to Edmonton due to NOTAMED closure of runway 34 for snow removal at 15:15z. Runway closure also delayed 5 minutes for departure of JZA8393. No other impact to operations.

ACA122 E190 returned to Calgary after reporting a pressurization issue. Aircraft landed safely runway 34 at 1514 UTC, no assistance requested and no impact to operations.

The flight crew of ACA122 were instructed to overshoot the approach to runway 05 due to WJA681 being very slow rolling on departure. Ops. impact - none.

The Air Canada Airbus A319 aircraft (operating as ACA122) was on a scheduled IFR flight from Calgary International (CYYC) to Toronto (LBPIA) (CYYZ). The flight crew initiated an overshoot for runway 24R at 1730 Zulu due to being too high and unstable on the approach due to mechanical turbulence.

Initial information from the TSB Daily Notification [#A10O0082]: The Air Canada Airbus A319 aircraft (C-GBIJ, operating as ACA122) was on a scheduled IFR flight from Calgary International Airport (CYYC) to Toronto (LBPIA) (CYYZ). En-route, a Flight Attendant became ill and was not able to continue duties.

The Air Canada Airbus A-319 aircraft (operating as flight ACA122) was concluding a scheduled IFR flight from Calgary International Airport (CYYC) to Toronto (LBPIA) (CYYZ). The aircraft landed on runway 33L at 1754Z and the flight crew advised Toronto Tower staff that the aircraft may have experienced a possible bird strike. Airport staff checked the runway and found two sparrows intact. The flight crew were advised. Ops. impact - none.

The Air Canada Embraer ERJ-190-100-IGW aircraft (operating as flight ACA122) was on a scheduled IFR flight from Calgary International Airport (CYYC) to Toronto (LBPIA) (CYYZ). The aircraft was approximately 150NM north of Toronto when the flight crew requested an early descent due to chop (light turbulence). The flight crew were given a clearance to descend to an altitude of 10,000 feet but the aircraft descended abnormally early (with the result that it encroached upon the Meaford Range (CYR501) at an altitude of 12,500 feet about 100 miles north of Toronto). The Toronto ACC Sector Controller had expected a more linear rate of descent rather than the early/drastic descent.

The Air Canada Embraer ERJ-190-100-IGW aircraft (operating as flight ACA122) was nearing the conclusion of a scheduled IFR flight from Winnipeg International (CYWG) to Toronto (LBPIA) (CYYZ). ACA1104 contacted WG ACC to request immediate decent from FL370 to FL310 due loss of one bleed source. The flight indicated all OK at FL310 and continued to destination without further incident.

The Air Canada Embraer ERJ-190-100-IGW aircraft (operating as flight ACA122) was nearing the conclusion of a scheduled IFR flight from Calgary International Airport (CYYC) to Toronto (LBPIA) (CYYZ). The flight crew declared an emergency due to a hydraulic failure in the nosewheel steering. ARFF services were positioned for a runway 33R landing. The aircraft landed at 1850Z without incident. Ops. impact -- unknown.
UPDATE Supplemental information received from T.S.B. Initial Notification [#A09O0036]: The Air Canada Embraer ERJ-190-100 aircraft (C-FGLW, operating as flight ACA122) was inbound for Toronto (LBPIA). During cruise flight, a loss of hydraulic fluid in the #2 system occurred. The flight crew declared an emergency and the aircraft landed without further incident. Maintenance staff found that the #2 hydraulic pressure line was leaking at the pylon. The line was re-secured and no other faults were found.

NAV CANADA staff at Toronto ACC were advised by the flight crew of ACA122 that they heard an active ELT signal when they were 13NM south of Sault Ste. Marie at FL370. The signal lasted approximately two (2) minutes. J.R.C.C. Trenton staff advised.

UPDATE TSB reported that Air Canada flight ACA122, an Airbus A319-100 aircraft, registration C-FYJP was en route from Calgary to Toronto. While in cruise the left engine (CFM56-5A5) had an uncommanded power roll back and the crew declared a Pan Pan. The crew was able to increase the power to 60% and diverted the aircraft to Winnipeg. While on descent into Winnipeg the crew shut down the left engine. ARFF was put on standby and the aircraft then landed safely. The aircraft was shut down on the runway for inspection and then taxied to the ramp. The operator will advise of its findings.
ACA 122, an Air Canada A319, was en route from Calgary to Toronto when the crew declared a "PAN PAN" at 1615z due to an engine malfunction and reduced the power to idle on that engine. They diverted to Winnipeg and about 30 minutes later declared an in-flight emergency and shut down the engine. At 1702z, the flight landed safely on Runway 13 and shut down for inspection. The aircraft exited the runway at 1710z. TSB will follow up with the company.

NAV CANADA staff at Winnipeg ACC received reports (between 1719Z and 1736Z) from the flight crews of WJA238 and ACA122 of an active ELT signal heard in the vicinity and east of Atikokan. J.R.C.C. Trenton staff advised.

At 1818z a Air Canada flight in the ACA122 south east bound at FL300 heard an ELT signal in the vicinity of Wairton (YVV). Signal ended abruptly at 1819z.

A07W0162: The A320 flight ACA122, had taken off from Calgary Intl, (CYYC) for Toronto, when the flight attendants reported a burning smell in the cabin. The flight returned to CYYC, where it landed approximately 4000 kg overweight. Maintenance subsequently replaced the cabin temperature controller.
