An Etihad Airways Boeing 787-9 (ETD76T) from Chicago/OHare, IL (KORD) to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (OMAA) was able to communicate with ETD47N and relay information. ETD47N was able to correct its issue and continue to its destination. No emergency or impact to operations.

A conflict alert activated between a Jetblue Airways Corporation Airbus A321 (N989JT/JBU633) from Boston, MA (KBOS) to San Francisco, CA (KSFO), at FL340, and a phantom target indicating FL355 on a code of 2766. A Delta Air Lines Boeing 767-300 (N175DZ/DAL1308) from New York/John F. Kennedy, NY (KJFK) to Seattle/Tacoma, WA (KSEA), at FL380, was also in very close proximity to JBU633 and the anomalous target at the time. Initial review by the Data Systems Coordinator (DSC) shows that several anomalous targets had appeared in close proximity to these 2 flights between 2025Z and 2043Z. Data has been sent to specialists in Ottawa for review. No impact on operations.

EVA029 responded that the deviation was due to a flight management system (FMS) issue and the aircraft was returning to its route. No impact to operations.

At 1515Z, the Edmonton area control centre received a level report via CPDLC that CKS815 was level at FL330. CKS815 was under surveillance and it could be seen that the aircraft had just started its climb and was not level. No impact to operations.

A Delta Airlines Boeing 757-200 (N624AG/DAL9887) from Reykjavik, Iceland (BIKF) to New York/John F. Kennedy, NY (KJFK) reported smoke in the cockpit and requested to return to BIKF. N624AG was cleared as requested and landed without incident at 2008Z. No impact to operations.
UPDATE: TSB Report #A21A0015: N624AG, a Boeing 757-200ER aircraft operated by Delta Airlines Inc., was conducting flight DL9887 from Reykjavik–Keflavik, Iceland (BIKF) to New York/John F. Kennedy, NY (KJFK). After take-off, the crew noticed an electrical burning smell, with no visible smoke. The crew decided to continue the climb and reference the smoke/fire/fumes checklist. No circuit breakers had tripped, and there were no EICAS alerts. Maintenance control was contacted through a satellite phone and, since the source of the smell could not be determined, the decision was made to return to BIKF. The crew declared an emergency with Gander Oceanic ATC and the aircraft landed without further incident. The night prior to the occurrence flight, maintenance had replaced the right-side Multi Control Display Unit (MCDU) due to a reported snag. After the occurrence flight, the right-side MCDU was replaced again. In addition, new recirculation filters were installed and the electrical harness and connectors were inspected. No arcing or damage was found.

Kennedy, NY (KJFK) reported an emergency locator transmitter (ELT) signal in the vicinity of Riviere-du-Loup, QC (CYRI). All aircraft in trail did not report the ELT. The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) Trenton was notified. No other issues.
