Kennedy, NY (KJFK) that was southeast (SE) bound and a Pratt & Whitney Canada Corp. Cessna 560XLS (C-GPAW) from Dallas/Love Field, TX (KDAL) to Montréal/St-Hubert, QC (CYHU) that was northeast (NE) bound. DAL562 made an unanticipated right turn that increased the closure rate. The controller took immediate corrective action by turning and climbing DAL562 and turning and descending C-GPAW.

Incident at KITOK intersection

A Jetblue Airways Airbus A321-211 (JBU264) from Seattle-Tacoma (Sea-Tac), WA (KSEA) to New York/John F. Kennedy, NY (KJFK) checked in with the Centralia controller at 1136Z. At 1142Z, Centralia gave JBU264 the frequency of the Cleveland Air Route Traffic Control Center (ZOB) controller for a handoff, but there was no response. For several minutes, Centralia attempted to contact JBU264 on 125.77 MHz, on the guard frequency and via another Jetblue Airways aircraft (JBU1006), with no success. At 1146Z, JBU264 crossed back into ZOB airspace. There was no operational impact.

Incident at 15NM SSW HAMILTON ON (CYHM)

An Endeavor Air Bombardier CL-600-2C10 (EDV5441) from New York/John F. Kennedy, NY (KJFK) to Minneapolis/Saint Paul, MN (KMSP) requested to descend due to a delaminated windshield. During the descent, EDV5441 declared an emergency and requested 10,000ft due to a shattered windshield. EDV5441 was given priority handling. At 1510Z, EDV5441 requested a diversion to Detroit/Wayne County, MI (KDTW). EDV5441 requested further descent to 8000ft. At approximately 1525Z, EDV5441 was handed off to the Cleveland Air Route Traffic Control Centre (ZOB). EDV5441 landed at KDTW uneventfully at 1550Z. No operational impact.
UPDATE: TSB Report #A22O0002: N391CA, a MHI RJ Aviation ULC CRJ700 operated by Endeavor Air, was conducting EDV5441, a flight from New York/John F. Kennedy International, NY (KJFK) to Minneapolis-St Paul International, MN (KMSP). During cruise flight at FL360, at approximately 0905 EST, the crew observed a de-lamination of the windshield, after which they requested a descent. During the descent, the windshield shattered and the flight crew declared an emergency, requesting an emergency descent to 10000 feet. The crew requested to divert to the Detroit/Coleman A. Young International, MI (KDET) and landed there uneventfully at 1050 EST.

A tug vehicle (JZA Tow 542) was repositioning from Hangar 101 to Gate 82. The vehicle was instructed to taxi via Juliet, then hold short of Juliet/Romeo, which was read back correctly. The vehicle then proceeded onto Taxiway Juliet/Romeo and switched to the apron advisory without authorization, conflicting with a WestJet Boeing 737-800 (WJA1680) from Calgary, AB (CYYC) to New York/John F. Kennedy, NY (KJFK) that was taxiing out for a departure off of Runway 35R.

At 45NM east of VITOL, a Turkish Airlines Boeing 787-9 (THY7KC) from Houston, TX (KIAH) to Istanbul, Turkey (LTFM) declared an emergency and advised diverting to New York/John F. Kennedy, NY (KJFK). Routing was issued to the aircraft and they were moved to an appropriate altitude. Just as the aircraft was being handed over to Boston, the crew advised that they would need to dump fuel. Moncton advised the aircraft to coordinate that activity with the Boston Center and switched the frequency. The aircraft left Moncton Airspace around WHALE, at time 2345Z. No details about the nature of the medical emergency were shared with Moncton. This happened in the TUSKY sector, but it was not possible to enter that information. No impact to operations.
