Incident at MONTRÉAL / PIERRE ELLIOTT TRUDEAU INTL QC (CYUL) (FOD (foreign object debris))

Upon approach for Runway 06R of an Air Wisconsin Airlines Bombardier CL-600-2B19 (AWI3942) from Montréal/Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau, QC (CYUL) to Washington/Dulles, WA (KIAD), ground received a call from a vehicle (SUR8906) reporting that a tow bar was underneath the aircraft. The pilot was notified. AWI3942 decided to depart from Runway 06R, but aborted and then performed an aircraft inspection. The tow bar became detached from a vehicle that was towing the aircraft between gates 4 and 15.

Two aircraft, an Air Wisconsin Bombardier CL-600-2B19 (AWI3789) from Washington Dulles, VA (KIAD) to Montréal/Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau, QC (CYUL) and a WestJet Encore Ltd. de Havilland DHC-8-402 (WEN3534) from Toronto/Lester B. Pearson, ON (CYYZ) to Montréal/Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau, QC (CYUL) refused to land and pulled up. Swallows were dispersed on inspection but no dead birds were found.

The aircraft crossed into Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) airspace and "no radio" (NORDO) procedures were followed. No impact on operations.

A Jazz Embraer ERJ 170-200 SU (C-FEJL/JZA8726) from Washington/Dulles, VA (KIAD) to Montreal/Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau, QC (CYUL) conducted an overshoot as it was impossible for JZA8967 to taxi on the ground because of the wake turbulence of ACA819.

ACA314 landed at 1129Z. No operational impact.

GJS4505 was observed level at 5,000 ft and seemed to be flying what appeared to be a heading of 230. Air traffic services (ATS) gave new clearance to GJS4505 to fly to FL230. Impact: GJS4505 did not respect noise abatement procedures and turned instead of climbing; no separation impact.

An Air Wisconsin Airlines Bombardier CL-600 2B19 (AWI3885) from Washington/Dulles, VA (KIAD) to Toronto/Lester B. Pearson, ON (CYYZ) was instructed to enter Runway 15L and hold short of Taxiway V. AWI3885 was further instructed to continue all the way to the end and turn left on Taxiway D to DR. AWI3885 turned left on Taxiway V, instead. The aircraft was instructed to stop immediately due to construction, however, construction vehicles moved out of the way so AWI3885 could continue on Taxiways A, D, and DR, to the gate. The tower had requested the airport authority to position cones around the perimeter of the closure, but it was not done until this incident.

No further impact and landed without issues.

Pearson, ON (CYYZ) was instructed to conducted an overshoot for Runway 05 due to landing traffic, a Jazz Bombardier CL-600-2D24 (JZA7607) from Washington-Dulles, VA (KIAD) to Toronto/Lester B. Pearson, ON (CYYZ), still being on the runway. JZA7494 landed without further incident (WOFI) at 0109Z.

Two IFR arrivals were in incorrect order in the Extended Computer Display System (EXCDS) pending by 1919Z for a Porter Airlines de Havilland DHC-8-402 (POE130) from Newark, NJ (KEWR) to Toronto/Billy Bishop, ON (CYTZ) and, 1922Z for a Porter Airlines de Havilland DHC-8-402 (POE720A) from Washington/Dulles, VA (KIAD) to Toronto/Billy Bishop, ON (CYTZ). This a known EXCDS different adaptation.

At Toronto/Lester B. Pearson, ON (CYYZ), 5 separate Bombardier (CRJ) aircraft experienced "miscapture" events, between 1132Z and 1727Z, on approach for Runway 24L, between 9NM and 15NM from the distance measuring equipment (DME). The aircraft were: a PSA Airlines Bombardier CL-600-2D24 (JIA5020) from Charlotte, NC (KCLT) to Toronto/Lester B. Pearson, ON (CYYZ); a Jazz Bombardier CL-600-2B19 (JZA8916) from Detroit/Wayne County, MI (KDTW) to Toronto/Lester B. Pearson, ON (CYYZ); a Jazz Bombardier CL-600-2D24 (JZA7677) from Boston, MA (KBOS) to Toronto/Lester B. Pearson, ON (CYYZ); an Endeavor Air Bombardier CL-600-2D24 (EDV4942) from New York/LaGuardia, NY (KLGA) to Toronto/Lester B. Pearson, ON (CYYZ); and a Jazz Bombardier CL-600-2D24 (JZA7705) from Washington-Dulles, VA (KIAD) to Toronto/Lester B. Pearson, ON (CYYZ). No operational impact.

Pearson, ON (CYYZ) to Washington-Dulles, VA (KIAD), that was slow to depart. THY17W landed on Runway 23 at 2306Z without further incident. No operational impact.
