A U.S. Military Airlift Command Boeing KC-135R (RCH269) from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, NC (KGSB) to Royal Air Force Mildenhall, UK (EGUN) climbed from F390 to F400 without clearance. No traffic. Aircraft was re-cleared. No impact to operations.

A United States Air Force McDonnell Douglas F-15 (TABOR33) from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, NC (KGSB) declared emergency, reason unspecified, no immediate assistance required. TABOR33 and a United States Air Force McDonnell Douglas F-15 (TABOR34) from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, NC (KGSB) left altitude reservation (ALTRV) request clearance to Westfield, MA (KBAF) at FL270. TABOR33 requested cables at KBAF, TABOR33 and TABOR34 left Flight Information Region (FIR) at 0959Z.

Incident at 60NM STEPHENVILLE NL (YJT) VOR/DME

At 1100Z, 60NM SW of Stephenville, NL (CYJT), a United States Air Force McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle (TABOR55) on a flight from Goldboro, NC (KGSB) to RAF Lakenheath, UK (EGUL) declared an emergency due to a hydraulic issue and departed military reservation Coronet East 003, accompanied by TABOR52. The flight exited Gander, NL (CZQX) airspace at 1110Z. The flight landed at Greenwood, NS (CYZX) at 1203Z.

At time 0359Z, a United States Department of Defence Boeing KC-135R (38044S / RCH718) from Goldboro, NC (KGSB) to Mildenhall, UK (EGUN) declared an emergency due to trapped fuel and requested to divert to Bangor, ME (KBGR). No further assistance required. The flight was cleared as requested and left Moncton FIR at 0631Z with an ETA at KBGR of 1641Z. No impact to operations. (Also reported under AOR 166510)

Incident at 4843N/4355W

At 03:42Z, a vertical deviation report was received for RCH545, KC-135R, enroute from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base (KGSB) to RAF Mildenhall (EGUN), indicating that the flight was climbing above 39,000 feet. The flight was not issued a clearance to climb but advised that the autopilot disengaged due to turbulence which caused the flight to climb. The aircraft was observed climbing to 40,000 feet before the flight began descent back to 39,000 feet.

At 42N058W, TABOR66, F15, enroute from RAF Lakenheath (EGUL) to Seymour Johnson Air Force Base (KGSB), reported a generator failure, declared an emergency and diverted to St. John?s (CYYT) with TABOR65. The flight dumped fuel 120 miles southwest of St. John?s. The aircraft landed at 17:00Z.

The aircraft landed without incident at 18:00Z. Flight was part of an Altrv CORONET EAST 055 leg 1/7.

Incident at BRANTFORD ON (CYFD) (Communication navigation surveillance/air traffic system, ATM - other)

The privately-registered Piper PA-23-250 aircraft was concluding a VFR flight from Goldsboro (Seymour Johnson Air Force Base), NC (U.S.A.) (KGSB) to Brantford Municipal Airport (CYFD). NAV CANADA staff at London F.I.C. reported that the aircraft was flown on a transborder flight without an active flight plan. A flight plan had been filed with Raleigh/Durham F.S.S. but was not activated. Ops. impact -- unknown.
