A United States Air Force McDonnell Douglas C-17 Globemaster II (RCH339) from Bangor, ME (KBGR) to Naval Air Station North Island, CA (KNZY), at FL300 and westbound, reported receiving an emergency locator transmitter (ELT) signal on the ultrahigh frequency (UHF). The ELT was strong (5) and continuous for approximately 5 minutes. The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) Trenton was advised. No other reports.

A United States Armed Forces Military Airlift Command Lockheed C-5 (RCH852) from Ramstein Air Force Base, Germany (ETAR) to Bangor, ME (KBGR) entered oceanic airspace after having lost data link communications prior to entering Canadian airspace. Air Radio made voice contact shortly after their entering of Canadian airspace, and subsequently the aircraft re-established data link connections. No traffic. No impact on operations.

Incident at GRAND FALLS NB (CCK3) (Communication navigation surveillance/air traffic system, Flight plan – information)

The United Stated sent out a proposed flight plan for a transborder flight between Bangor, ME (KBGR) and Grand Falls, NB (CCK3) at 1933Z. The estimated time of departure (ETD) was 2000Z. The plan was modified at 2007Z to change the ETD to 2030Z. No departure time entered. The estimated time of arrival (ETA) was received at 2242Z from KBDRYFYX. Quebec never had the alert service.

DAL141 diverted to Bangor Intl, ME (KBGR) and asked for medical and law enforcement on the ground. At 1702Z, DAL141 decided to continue on to KJFK. No impact on operations. Update TSB Report #A19A0082: N35953, a Boeing 787-9 aircraft operated by United Airlines, was conducting flight UAL968 from San Francisco Intl (KSFO), CA to Amsterdam/Schiphol (EHAM), Netherlands. During cruise flight near Wabush (CYWK), NL at FL390, the crew was alerted to decreasing cabin altitude and noted that the right DC electrical bus had failed along with the right air conditioning pack. The left pack subsequently failed, and the crew declared an emergency, descended, and coordinated with ATS to divert to Bangor Intl (KBGR), ME.

The first flight plan was closed and the research was completed.
