An automatic dependent surveillance-contract (ADS-C) report indicated that a Martinair Holland Boeing 747-400 (PHCKA/MPH6515) from Amsterdam, Netherlands (EHAM) to Chicago/OHare, IL (KORD) was not following the flight plan route. MPH6515 was flying ROUND ODAXY GAULT, whereas the route known by the air traffic controller (ATC) was ROUND ODAXY OBSTR. No impact on operations.

Pearson, ON (CYYZ) to Amsterdam, Netherlands (EHAM) flew direct IPTOS after VERDO intersection, which was a deviation from the flight planned route. The pilot said they received VERDO-IPTOS by clearance (CLX) delivery. After reviewing the tapes, both CLX delivery and KLM86 had the correct route of VERDO6-IPTOS. The standard instrument departure (SID) number after VERDO was not inputted into the flight management system (FMS). No impact to operations.

A strong emergency locator transmitter (ELT) signal was reported by an Atlas Air Boeing 767-300 (GTI8011) from Amsterdam, Netherlands (EHAM) to Chicago/OHare, IL (KORD) and an ABX Air Boeing 767-300 (ABX984) from London/Heathrow, United Kingdom (EGLL) to Chicago/OHare, IL (KORD), both at FL360, for a duration of 10 minutes. The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) Trenton was notified and already aware. The ELT of a privately registered Cessna 172H had been tripped during maintenance work. No operational impact.

A Delta Air Lines Airbus A330-900 (DAL142) from Seattle-Tacoma, WA (KSEA) to Amsterdam, Netherlands (EHAM), flying at FL370, reported passing underneath a large high altitude balloon. The balloon was white, and estimated to be 300 to 500 feet above the aircraft, with an approximately 30 foot line attached. There were no known balloons in the area. No impact to operations.

Pearson, ON (CYYZ) conducted an overshoot, initiated by the tower, for Runway 06L, due to a KLM Royal Dutch Airlines Boeing 787-10 (PHBKC/KLM86) from Toronto/Lester B. Pearson, ON (CYYZ) to Amsterdam, Netherlands (EHAM) still being in position. KLM86 refused take-off due to birds on the runway. A vehicle (BMN72) responded to clear away the birds. KLM86 departed. ACA144 landed safely. ACA144 was offered Runway 06R, but was unable to accept.

Pearson Intl, ON (CYYZ) conducted an overshoot Runway 05 at 1901Z due to an unstable approach. The aircraft landed at 1915Z and taxied to the gate without further incident. No operational impact.

Separation was in accordance with Wake Turbulence Re-categorization (RECAT).

Incident at CALGARY INTL AB (CYYC)

A KLM Royal Dutch Airlines Airbus A330-300 (KLM679) from Amsterdam, Netherlands (EHAM) to Calgary, AB (CYYC) stopped on Taxiway BC, short of Taxiway B. The aircraft was unable to use its nose wheel steering due to a faulty brake indication. The aircraft requested a tow vehicle to Gate 72. Security Operations (IOC) unit was notified at 2045Z. The aircraft was towed in at 2102Z. One aircraft required Runway 35L for landing.

A KLM Royal Dutch Airlines Boeing 787-9 (KLM677) from Amsterdam, Netherlands (EHAM) to Calgary, AB (CYYC) reported a medical emergency due to a sick passenger and requested to divert to Yellowknife, NT (CYZF). KLM677 subsequently cancelled the medical emergency and continued to CYYC. No impact to the operation.

A KLM Royal Dutch Airlines Boeing 787-9 (KLM677) from Amsterdam, Netherlands (EHAM) to Calgary, AB (CYYC), flying the BIRKO arrival for Runaway 29, closed the area navigation (RNAV) Z approach, linking PENDL to HENRI rather than turning downwind. The controller subsequently vectored the aircraft downwind. No impact to operations.
