A privately registered Cessna 152 on a flight to Burlington Executive, ON (CZBA) popped up on radar at 3000ft. Terminal arrival controller identified the potential conflict and stopped BAW9L at 4000ft until they were past the VFR traffic. No loss of separation. No impact to operations.

The pilot of an Air Canada Airbus BD-500-1A11 (ACA1038) from Denver, CO (KDEN) to Toronto/Lester B. Pearson, ON (CYYZ) advised the controller they had experienced a bird strike upon landing on Runway 24L. The runway was closed for inspection. As a result, 3 flights were advised to conduct a go-around for Runway 24L: a Jazz Bombardier CL-600-2D24 (JZA7610) from Chicago/OHare, IL (KORD) to Toronto/Lester B. Pearson, ON (CYYZ); an Air Canada Boeing 737 MAX 8(ACA907) from Orlando, FL (KMCO) to Toronto/Lester B. Pearson, ON (CYYZ); and a British Airways Airbus A350-900 (BAW9L) from London/Heathrow, United Kingdom (EGLL) to Toronto/Lester B. Pearson, ON (CYYZ). The runway reopened at 2103Z. No other impact to operations.

Incident at TUKIR intersection (Aerodrome, runway or taxiway shutdown)

A Cargojet Airways Boeing 767-300 (CJT980) from London/Heathrow, United Kingdom (EGLL) to Hamilton, ON (CYHM) declared a "MAYDAY" due to a loss of hydraulic quantity. CJT980 was given priority and advised that they would need Runway 30 in CYHM and would stop on the runway. The CYHM tower was advised. CJT980 landed without further incident (WOFI) at 2344Z. A Swoop Inc. Boeing 737-8CT (WSW158) on a flight to Hamilton, ON (CYHM) was delayed for landing.
UPDATE: TSB Report #A21O0074: C-GCIJ, a Cargojet Airways Ltd. B767-300, was operating as flight CJT980, a flight from London/Heathrow, United Kingdom (EGLL) to Hamilton/John C. Munro, ON (CYHM) with two crew members on board. During the initial climb, the crew received an indication of low hydraulic quantity on the Centre hydraulic system. The appropriate checklists were completed, and in consultation with the operator, the decision was made to continue the flight to CYHM. During descent, approximately 30NM WSW of Ottawa, ON, the crew declared MAYDAY with the Toronto Centre. The flight landed on Runway 30 in CYHM without incident at 1944 EDT and was towed to the gate. An inspection of the aircraft revealed that a filter cap had failed on the Spoiler Power Control Actuator in position #8. The actuator unit, case drain, and pressure filters were replaced, and the aircraft was returned to service.

The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) Trenton was notified and already aware. The ELT of a privately registered Cessna 172H had been tripped during maintenance work. No operational impact.

Incident at 120NM N IQALUIT NU (CYFB)

TSB Report #A21Q0003: GZBKG, a Boeing 787-900 operated by British Airways under the callsign BAW49, was on an instrument flight rules flight from London/Heathrow, United Kingdom (EGLL) to Seattle–Tacoma, WA (KSEA). While the aircraft was cruising at flight level 380, approximately 120NM north of Iqaluit, NU (CYFB), it encountered severe clear air turbulence. The crew advised air traffic control, a descent was initiated at flight level 340 and the turbulence ceased below level 360. A cabin crew member was injured and medical advice was obtained before continuing the flight to its destination. The aircraft landed safely at KSEA and paramedics assessed the crew member for injuries at the arrival gate. The aircraft did not suffer any apparent damage.

BAW3575 was holding position and aware that N268TS was taxiing around them.

Consequently, ACA865 squawked code 7600. At 1916Z, ATS was able to communicate with the aircraft while it was 2NM final for Runway 24L. ACA865 landed without issue. No impact.

Kennedy, NY (KJFK) reported an emergency locator transmitter (ELT) signal in the vicinity of Riviere-du-Loup, QC (CYRI). All aircraft in trail did not report the ELT. The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) Trenton was notified. No other issues.

An Air Creebec de Havilland DHC-8-106 (C-FDWO/CRQ232) from Chibougamau/Chapais, QC (CYMT) to Montreal/Pierre Elliott Trudeau Intl, QC (CYUL) had to conduct a pull-up. Incident at In the vicinity of: TORONTO / LESTER B. PEARSON INTL ON (CYYZ)

Air Canada (ACA) Operations (Ops) advised that an Air Canada Boeing 787-9 (C-FRTG/ACA7201) from London/Heathrow, United Kingdom (EGLL) to Toronto/Lester B. Pearson, ON (CYYZ) was inbound with a slat drive issue and was requesting Runway 33R. The aircraft landed safely at 0427Z without further incident. No impact on operations.
UPDATE: TSB Report #A20O0102: An Air Canada Boeing 787-9, C-FRTG, was conducting flight ACA7201, an IFR flight from London/Heathrow, United Kingdom (EGLL) to Toronto/Lester B. Pearson, ON (CYYZ), with 3 flight crew members on board. During cruise, at approximately 0254Z, the crew received a "SLAT DRIVE FAIL" message. The flight continued towards CYYZ. During the arrival, the crew declared "PAN PAN". ARFF was dispatched, and the aircraft landed uneventfully at 0427Z.

Traffic was a 7506406 Canada Inc. Agusta AW139 (LF1) from Toronto/Billy Bishop, ON (CYTZ) to Owen Sound/Billy Bishop, ON (CYOS) that was south of ACA857 and passing behind. Mutual traffic information had been passed and both aircraft had the other in sight. No impact on operations.
