Pearson, ON (CYYZ) reported receiving a traffic alert and collision avoidance system (TCAS) resolution advisory (RA) on final approach for Runway 24R, descending through 1800ft. Traffic was a 7506406 Canada Inc. Agusta AW139 (LF1) from Toronto/Billy Bishop, ON (CYTZ) to Owen Sound/Billy Bishop, ON (CYOS) that was south of ACA857 and passing behind. Mutual traffic information had been passed and both aircraft had the other in sight. No impact on operations.

After landing, a British Airways Airbus A350-900 (BAW9L) from London/Heathrow, United Kingdom (EGLL) to Toronto/Lester B. Pearson, ON (CYYZ) stated that they had a hydraulic loss indication on landing Runway 23. BAW9L held on H at 15R pending an inspection vehicle. At 2027Z, BAW9L indicated that they had lost nose wheel steering and would require a tow to the gate. At 2039Z, the hydraulic leak was confirmed and BAW9L requested fire trucks due to the leak coupled with hot brakes. The aircraft was towed and escorted to the gate without further incident. Runway 23 operations were suspended pending an inspection.

The pilot was questioned and those in charge at the Montreal Area Control Centre (ACC) discovered that they did not have the same flight plan as the aircraft.

Incident at 195NM NE ST. JOHN'S INTL NL (CYYT)

At time 2202Z and just west of 50N050W, a British Airways Boeing 787-9 (GZBKD/BAW293) on a flight from Heathrow/London Intl, UK (EGLL) to Washington/Dulles, VA (KIAD) declared a PAN PAN due to a pressurization issue and requested descent from FL410 to FL350. The flight was recleared to FL340. BAW293 reported the situation good at FL340 and PAN PAN cancelled at 2215Z. Flight continued to its destination and exited the Gander Intl, NL (CYQX) flight information region (FIR) at 2248Z.
UPDATE TSB Report #A20A0006: G-ZBKD, an Boeing 787-900 operated by British Airways, was conducting flight BAW293 from London Heathrow Intl. (EGLL), UK to Washington Dulles Intl. (KIAD), VA. The aircraft dispatched with the right air conditioning pack inoperative in accordance with the MEL. During the cruise portion while at FL410, the left air conditioning pack failed, resulting in a PACK ALTITUDE LIMIT warning. The checklist required a descent to FL340. At 195 nm NE of St John’s International Airport, NL (CYYT), the crew requested FL340, however it was denied by ATC. The crew then declared a PAN-PAN due to the pressurization issue and a descent to FL340 was made. Once the aircraft reached FL340, the crew reported the situation was normal and cancelled the PAN-PAN and continued to destination without incident.

While in cruising flight, the crew declared an emergency due to a problem with the airspeed indicator. An Air Canada Boeing 787-9 (C-FKSV/ACA875) from Frankfurt, Germany (EDDF) to Montreal/Pierre Elliott Trudeau, QC (CYUL) reported having an issue with their hydraulic system on the right side. They requested emergency vehicles at CYUL airport upon arrival. Runway 24R was closed by NOTAM, therefore it was re-opened temporarily by the Aéroports de Montréal (ADM). ACA875 landed safely at 1508Z.

Update TSB #A19F0146: C-FKSV, a Boeing 787-9 aircraft operated by Air Canada, was conducting flight ACA875 from Frankfurt/Rhein-Main (EDDF), Germany to Montreal/Pierre Elliot Trudeau Intl (CYUL), QC with 10 crew members and 243 passengers on board. During cruise flight at FL380 in the vicinity of N57/W025, the aircraft experienced a lost of the right hydraulic system pressure. The flight crew initially declared a PAN PAN as they were preparing to divert to London/Heathrow (EGLL), UK. However, it was subsequently determined that the issue was not affecting the safety of the flight or the ETOPS operation, as the system pressure and quantity was operating normally with the Electric Driven Pump on. The PAN PAN was cancelled, and the flight continued to CYUL without further incident. The operators maintenance found that the Engine Driven Pump (EDP) was leaking, and proceeded to replace it.

Incident at GOREG intersection

An Air Canada Airbus A320-214 (C-GJVT/ACA569) on a flight from San Francisco Intl, CA (KSFO) to Vancouver Intl, BC (CYVR) turning final for Runway 26R in the vicinity of GOREG reported a drone approximately 200 feet of their left. An Air Canada Boeing 777-333ER (C-FNNW/ACA855) on a flight from London/Heathrow Intl, UK (EGLL) to Vancouver Intl, BC (CYVR) five miles in trail also reported sighting the drone at approximately 3 500 feet red in colour. Police advised.
