A Government of Canada Department of National Defence Lockheed C-130 (TSKR332) on a flight from Greenwood, NS (CYZX) to Sept-Îles, QC (CYZV) reported that it had finished parachute activities and that it was going to Runway 27. TSKR332 was advised that there was a vehicle on the runway and that the flight service station (FSS) would contact it when the vehicle was clear of the runway. A vehicle (ST26) was instructed to leave the runway and to call once it was off of it. TSKR332 turned on base and ST26 was told to leave the runway immediately. TSKR332 was advised that the vehicle was still on the runway. TSKR332 turned on final and the vehicle was still on the runway. Impact: TSKR332 conducted a go-around.

An American privately registered Cessna 172N from Greenwood, NS (CYZX) to Brantford, ON (CYFD) on a VFR flight plan reported encountering IMC conditions NW of Wiarton, ON (CYVV). Pilot advised they were IFR rated and accepted an IFR clearance to Kitchener/Waterloo, ON (CYKF) in anticipation of resuming VFR flight. Due cloud cover at CYKF, the aircraft was recleared IFR to Hamilton, ON (CYHM). Aircraft cancelled IFR in the vicinity of CYHM and continued VFR to CYFD.

Incident at 20NM SW St Margret's Bay

Numerous calls received (Halifax Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC), Hubbards Fire and Rescue, Airport Duty Manager) regarding a report of a low flying military aircraft with smoke trailing it over St. Margarets Bay. A Government of Canada, Department of National Defence Lockheed P-3 (HNTR10) on a flight from Greenwood, NS (CYZX) to Greenwood, NS (CYZX) had been flying in that area around the time of the report and was still airborne over western Nova Scotia at the time of the enquiry. No impact on operations.

Incident at SUMMERSIDE PE (CYSU)

A Tier 1 ISR Inc. Piper PA-28R-201T (C-FZYW) was on a VFR flight plan departing Greenwood, NS (CYZX) at 1856Z for a 1-hour flight and landing at Summerside, PE (CYSU) . Communication search (COMMSEARCH) was initiated when no arrival (ARR) report was received. Unable to contact the pilot via cell phone number provided, and search and rescue (SAR) notification person had no information about the flight. Prince Edward Island (PEI) Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) enroute to check apron for aircraft, and Halifax Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) advised via phone. Copy of flight plan (FPL) faxed to JRCC. Approximately 15 minutes later, RCMP called to advise they had spoken with the pilot, and the aircraft had arrived at CYSU "4:53 local". The pilot said they had "spoke with the tower". Aircraft was subsequently on a local sight seeing tour. JRCC advised of information, and flight plan closed.
