A Provincial Airlines de Havilland DHC-8-311 (C-GVPA/PVL1901) from Wabush, NL (CYWK) to Sept-Îles, QC (CYZV) received a traffic alert and collision avoidance system (TCAS) warning when descending to CYZV while an Air Inuit de Havilland DHC-6-300 (C-FTJJ/AIE136) from Sept-Îles, QC (CYZV) to Poste Montagnais, QC (Mile 134) (CSF3) was climbing in the opposite direction. PVL1901 deviated off course and climbed. AIE136 also had to go off-course. PVL1901 was notified about the other aircraft.

The flight service station (FSS) received a phone call from airport security advising of a possible oil leak from the wing of a Propair Inc. Beech 1900D (C-GORN/PRO4001) from Wabush, NL (CYWK) to Chibougamau/Chapais, QC (CYMT) that was taxiing. PRO4001 was advised after departure and returned to inspect. PRO4001 declared "PAN PAN" with the Montreal (ZUL) area control centre (ACC) and requested emergency vehicles be dispatched. PRO4001 landed safely at 0019Z.

At approximately 1805Z, a Kalitta Charters Dassault Fan Jet Falcon Mystere 20 (N808CK/KFS57) from London, ON (CYXU) to Wabush, NL (CYWK) landed in Wabush without making any calls on the mandatory frequency. The flight service station (FSS) made several attempts to contact the aircraft after seeing it visually, but received no response. The aircraft contacted the FSS immediately after landing and said they made multiple reports on the frequency, but none were heard. Other aircraft were on the MF requesting the position of the aircraft, but no position could be provided.

At approximately 1525Z, an Air Inuit de Havilland DHC-8-314 (C-GXAI/AIE859) from Quebec/Jean Lesage, QC (CYQB) to Wabush, NL (CYWK) advised they were breaking off the approach and proceeding to hold at the fix ODGAL at 5000ft to work through a checklist. AIE859 held at ODGAL until 1602Z, at which time they advised they were diverting to Schefferville, QC (CYKL) but did not provide a reason. AIE859 was transferred back to the Montreal (CZUL) Area Control Centre (ACC) at 1602Z. No impact to operations.

At 2210Z, a Provincial Airlines de Havilland DHC-8-315 (C-FPAE/PVL1909) from Wabush, NL (CYWK) to Sept-Îles, QC (CYZV) received an advisory and clearance, and took position on Runway 36. The aircraft advised the Flight Service Station (FSS) they needed a few minutes on the runway. The FSS queried the aircraft twice to see how long was required. At 2220Z, the Montreal (ZUL) Area Control Centre (ACC) called. Clearance was cancelled and PVL1909 vacated the runway. Undisclosed mechanical issue. No impact to operations.

At 2240Z, a Héli-Boréal Inc. Aerospatiale AS 350 B-2 (C-FJXX) from Wabush, NL (CYWK) to Wabush, NL (CYWK) departed the south apron with a slung load. A vehicle (ST23) was conducting a runway check at the time. ST23 reported an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) seat fell from the helicopter slung load onto Taxiway C. ST23 picked it up and returned it to the south apron. C-FJXX was advised by the flight service station (FSS). No impact to operations.

At 1444Z, the Low controller advised that a Propair Beech 1900D (C-GORN/PRO4005) from Chibougamau/Chapais, QC (CYMT) to Wabush, NL (CYWK), with a right engine out, had declared an emergency. At 1449Z, 911 was advised. At 1452Z, the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) unit and the Shift Manager (SM) were advised. At 1455Z, the field maintenance unit was advised. At 1502Z, the aircraft landed, and was unable to taxi. At 1503Z, the runway was closed via voice NOTAM. At 1522Z, passengers were brought from the aircraft on the runway to the terminal. At 1532Z, the aircraft was successfully towed off and was clear of the manoeuvring area. At 1536Z, field maintenance conducted a runway check to reopen the runway. They advised that some sweeping was necessary due to debris. At 1604Z, runway work was complete, and the runway was certified for use. At 1604Z, the runway was opened.
UPDATE: TSB Report #A22A0001: C-GORN, a Beech 1900D aircraft operated by Propair Inc., was conducting flight PRO4005 from Chibougamau-Chapais, QC (CYMT) to Wabush, NL (CYWK). While in cruise flight, the crew received a master warning light, accompanied by a low right engine oil pressure indication. The crew conducted the memory items, and determined that the right engine oil pressure was indicating 60 psi. The flight was at the start of descent, and the crew reduced power. The right engine oil pressure continued to decrease and, when at 50 psi, the crew carried out the emergency checklist items, shut down the right engine, and declared PAN PAN with CYWK air traffic services. The crew utilized the single-engine landing checklist, and briefed the single-engine go-around checklist before landing at CYWK without further incident. The crew shut down on the runway and coordinated with airport services for transportation of passengers and the towing of the aircraft. Maintenance personnel determined the loss of number 2 engine oil pressure was due to engine oil leakage caused by a faulted engine oil cooler.

At 0203Z, an emergency locator transmitter (ELT) signal was heard on the 121.5 MHz and 243.0 MHz frequencies by the Flight Service Station (FSS) in Wabush, NL (CYWK). The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) Halifax and the Shift Manager were advised. JRCC Halifax indicated it was a foreign registered Embraer E135 (GCGMC) from Iqaluit, NU (CYFB) to Wabush, NL (CYWK) parked on Apron 1 in CYWK.
