at 60NM NW SAULT STE. MARIE ON (CYAM)
A Cargojet Airways Aerospatiale ATR 42-300 (CJT587) from Thunder Bay, ON (CYQT) to Winnipeg/James Armstrong Richardson, MB (CYWG) relayed a MAYDAY call from a privately registered Cessna 152, from Marathon, ON (CYSP) to Sault Ste. Marie, ON (CYAM), to the Winnipeg (WPG) area control centre (ACC). The Cessna 152 reported a rough running engine while following Highway 17 in the vicinity of Agawa Bay, ON. The CYAM tower confirmed that it was in contact with the Cessna 152, which was 20 minutes from landing. The Cessna 152 declared an emergency with the tower and landed safely at 0315Z. UPDATE: Duplicate AOR 271179-V1: The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) Trenton reported a "MAYDAY" call north of Sault Ste. Marie, ON (CYAM). A privately registered Cessna 152 from Marathon, ON (CYSP) to Gore Bay-Manitoulin, ON (CYZE) reported engine trouble and sent a "MAYDAY" call on the emergency frequency, which was overheard by an Air Canada pilot. The CYAM tower confirmed it was in contact with the aircraft and that the aircraft was inbound, 27NM from the north, and planning to land at CYAM. JRCC Trenton was notified that the aircraft was inbound to CYAM. The CYAM Tower Aircraft Movement (TAM) application indicated a safe arrival of the aircraft at 0314Z.
