TSB Report #A20Q0009: C-GGOK, a Jazz Aviation LP Dash-8 Q400 (JZA8716) was stopped in de-icing bay #6 at Montreal/Pierre Elliott Trudeau, QC (CYUL). When the de-icing operation was complete, the technician approached the horizontal stabilizer to conduct a tactile check of the surface. The crane of the bucket truck came into contact with the bottom of the stabilizer, causing minor damage. There were no injuries.

Incident at MONTRÉAL / PIERRE ELLIOTT TRUDEAU INTL QC (CYUL)

TSB Report #A20Q0003: C-FSOU, a Jazz Aviation LP Dash-8-300 (DH8C) (JZA8684), was on an IFR flight from Montreal/Pierre Elliott Trudeau, QC (CYUL) to CFB Bagotville, QC (CYBG) with 49 passengers and 3 crew members. Immediately after takeoff from Runway 24L, the interior wheel in the left landing gear broke off of the aircraft and fell onto the runway. The crew declared an emergency and remained in flight for approximately 1 hour to burn off fuel and reduce the aircrafts weight before returning to CYUL and landing. Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) services were deployed. The aircraft landed on Runway 24R without incident with 1 wheel remaining on the left landing gear. The aircraft cleared the runway via Taxiway B2 and came to a stop. Passengers were brought to the terminal by bus. There were no injuries, and there was no other damage to the aircraft.

Incident at VAL-D'OR QC (CYVO)

TSB Report A20Q0001: C-GSPW, an Air Inuit Boeing 737-200 (AIE752) with 4 crew members and 28 passengers on board, was on an IFR flight from Montreal Pierre Elliot Trudeau Intl, QC (CYUL) to Val-dOr, QC (CYVO). Following the landing at CYVO, the flight crew received a fire indication from the auxiliary power unit (APU) as well as an indication that the fire extinguishing bottle had discharged. Noticing that the fire indication was still present, the flight crew brought the aircraft to a stop on the runway and requested the presence of Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) services in case of an accident so that it could verify whether smoke or flames were present at the back of the aircraft. The aircraft, having not received any confirmation of the presence of smoke or flames, taxied to its designated parking area and proceeded with the quick unloading of passengers since the fire indication was still present. All occupants evacuated the aircraft. ARFF personnel arrived a few minutes later. When the APU was checked, it was discovered that there was no trace of fire. No one was injured and the aircraft was not damaged.
