En route to Arnprior, ON (CNP3), a privately registered, amateur-built Glasair III from Sherbrooke, QC (CYSC) to Arnsprior, ON (CNP3) squawked 7600. The aircraft continued its flight towards CNP3. Near Ottawa/Macdonald-Cartier, ON (CYOW), the flight service station (FSS) of Ottawa/Gatineau, QC (CYND) joined the aircraft via cell phone. The aircraft decided to proceed towards CYND. The aircraft landed safely. No impact.

Accident at OTTAWA / GATINEAU QC (CYND) (Aerodrome, runway or taxiway shutdown)

An École de Pilotage Évolution Diamond DA 20-C1 (C-GWEM) from Ottawa/Gatineau, QC (CYND) to Ottawa/Gatineau, QC (CYND) was conducting touch-and-gos. The landing gear collapsed upon landing and the aircraft was immobilized on Runway 09/27. There were no injuries but there was damage to the aircraft. Operational impact: Runway 09/27 was closed for approximately 15 minutes.
UPDATE: TSB Report #A20Q0095: C-GEWM, a Diamond DA-20 operated by Evolution Flight School Inc., was on a local training flight from the Ottawa/Gatineau, QC (CYND) airport under visual flight rules, with a student pilot on board. During a simulated short landing exercise, the aircraft bounced several times and, on the third touchdown, the nose landing gear gave way and the propeller struck the runway. The aircraft came to a stop at the edge of the runway, in the grass. There were no injuries, however the aircraft sustained damage primarily to the propeller, engine cover and nose gear.

While a Parachutisme Adrénaline Inc. Cessna 208B (C-GYRQ/ADRNL8) from Ottawa/Gatineau, QC (CYND) to Ottawa/Gatineau, QC (CYND) was on short final for Runway 27, a parachutist landed on the runway approximately 1000 ft from the threshold of Runway 27. The specialist advised ADRNL8 that there appeared to be a parachutist on the runway and the pilot confirmed the information and climbed slightly to avoid the parachutist and land further down the runway. An Evolution Flight School Inc. Diamond DA 20-C1 (C-GEWM) from Ottawa/Gatineau, QC (CYND) to Ottawa/Gatineau, QC (CYND), which was downwind, was advised of the situation and lengthened its downwind. The parachutist left the runway on foot.

At 1413Z, a call came from an individual (a pilot) who reported having seen and heard a Cessna type aircraft (C150 or C172) that seemed to be having trouble with its engine and was heading south, either to Lachute, QC (CSE4) or Montreal/Mirabel, QC (CYMX). The person was approximately 38 km north of CSE4. The Area Control Centre (ACC) shift manager was notified. Around 1445Z, the ACC shift manager confirmed that an Aéroclub Gatineau Ottawa Inc. Cessna 150M (C-GEEH) from Ottawa/Gatineau, QC (CYND) to Mont-Joli, QC (CYYY) had an engine failure and landed without damage at CSE4.
