at OTTAWA / GATINEAU QC (CYND)

An École de Pilotage Évolution Diamond DA 20-C1 (C-GWEM) from Ottawa/Gatineau, QC (CYND) to Ottawa/Gatineau, QC (CYND) was conducting touch-and-gos. The landing gear collapsed upon landing and the aircraft was immobilized on Runway 09/27. There were no injuries but there was damage to the aircraft. Operational impact: Runway 09/27 was closed for approximately 15 minutes.
UPDATE: TSB Report #A20Q0095: C-GEWM, a Diamond DA-20 operated by Evolution Flight School Inc., was on a local training flight from the Ottawa/Gatineau, QC (CYND) airport under visual flight rules, with a student pilot on board. During a simulated short landing exercise, the aircraft bounced several times and, on the third touchdown, the nose landing gear gave way and the propeller struck the runway. The aircraft came to a stop at the edge of the runway, in the grass. There were no injuries, however the aircraft sustained damage primarily to the propeller, engine cover and nose gear.
