A Pascan British Aerospace 3212 (PSC582) from Quebec/Jean Lesage, QC (CYQB) to Montreal/St-Hubert, QC (CYHU) reported a faulty landing gear position indication and requested a low approach for a visual inspection by the tower. The tower advised that the landing gear appeared to be down. PSC582 decided to land without declaring an emergency or requesting emergency services. PSC582 landed without any other issues.

Incident at QUÉBEC / JEAN LESAGE INTL QC (CYQB)

Following takeoff from Runway 06, a Pascan British Aerospace Jetstream 3212 (PSC582) from Quebec/Jean Lesage, QC (CYQB) to Quebec/St-Hubert, QC (CYHU) declared a "PAN PAN" due to a landing gear problem. The aircraft asked to come back and land. A few minutes later, PSC582 cancelled the emergency and asked to continue to its destination. The requested services were cancelled. The National Operations Centre (NOC) was notified. No impact on operations.

A Pascan Pilatus PC-12/47E (C-FUAM/PSC366) from Montreal/St-Hubert, QC (CYHU) to Montreal/Pierre Elliott Trudeau, QC (CYUL) reported a dead animal on the runway when it landed on Runway 24L. A rabbit was found on inspection. Impact: the departures of an Air Creebec de Havilland DHC-8-102 (CRQ5771) from Montreal/Pierre Elliott Trudeau, QC (CYUL) to Chibougamau/Chapais, QC (CYMT), and a Provincial Airlines de Havilland DHC-8-102 (PVL1902) from Montreal/Pierre Elliott Trudeau, QC (CYUL) to Quebec/Jean Lesage, QC (CYQB) were delayed, and an Air Canada Airbus BD-500-1A11 A220-300 (ACA396) from Calgary, AB (CYYC) to Montreal/Pierre Elliott Trudeau, QC (CYUL) was redirected to Runway 24R for landing. No other impact on operations.

An American, corporately registered Cessna 560 Citation Ultra (N5686/DCM6247) from Montreal/St-Hubert, QC (CYHU) to Chibougamau/Chapais, QC (CYMT) did not make initial contact or broadcast on the mandatory frequency (MF) during its approach to CYMT. The aircraft responded after two attempts by the Airport Advisory Service (AAS), and the request for the aircraft to report when off of the runway was given. There was no further communication with the aircraft. The arrival was confirmed by the ground station.

At 1132Z, a Dynamitage Castonguay Piper PA-31 (C-GLAZ) on a flight from Montreal/St-Hubert, QC (CYHU) informed the air traffic controller (ATC) of an engine problem and requested to be rerouted to Montreal/St-Hubert, QC (CYHU). At 1136Z, C-GLAZ declared an emergency and informed ATC that it was descending to land at La Macaza/Mont-Tremblant, QC (CYFJ). The aircraft landed safely at 1152Z. No impact on operations.

Incident at 10NM SE OTTAWA / GATINEAU QC (CYND)

A Cargair Ltee Cessna 152 (C-FOPC) from Montreal/St-Hubert, QC (CYHU) to Montreal/St-Hubert, QC (CYHU) called the flight service station (FSS) via cell phone to report that it had a radio and transponder failure. The aircraft reported 10NM southeast, inbound with "no radio" (NORDO) for a full stop. An airport advisory was provided, which included information about traffic in the circuit. Other traffic, including a Government of Canada, Department of Transport Bell 412 (CTG942) from Ottawa/Macdonald-Cartier, ON (CYOW) to Ottawa/Macdonald-Cartier, ON (CYOW) and a Rockcliffe Flying Club Cessna 172M (C-GMME) from Ottawa/Rockcliffe, ON (CYRO) to Ottawa/Rockcliffe, ON (CYRO), were advised as well of the inbound NORDO aircraft. C-FOPC landed on Runway 27 without further incident at 1545Z.

The aircraft had received an instruction to conduct a right turn of 15 degrees. A Max Aviation Beech B100 (C-GMNL/MAX180) from Montreal/St-Hubert, QC (CYHU) to Montreal/St-Hubert, QC (CYHU) was instructed to turn on a heading of 065 degrees, which MAX180 re-read correctly. MAX120 then turned on the heading of 065 degrees, without rereading. MAX120 executed an air traffic control (ATC) instruction that was not intended for it. No impact on operations.

Incident at IQALUIT NU (CYFB) (Aerodrome, runway or taxiway shutdown)

Upon takeoff (T/O), a Chrono Jet Inc. Boeing 737-2T4 (C-FYPN/MBK793) from Iqaluit, NU (CYFB) to Montreal/St-Hubert, QC (CYHU) reported landing gear issues to the Montreal Area Control Centre (CZUL). MBK793 did not declare an emergency, but returned to CYFB. The flight service station (FSS) advised the Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) unit. MBK793 landed without further incident. A First Air Aerospatiale/Aeritalia ATR 42-500 (FAB807) on a flight from Iqaluit, NU (CYFB) chose to take off after MBK793, without a foreign object debris (FOD) check being performed. A vehicle (ST21) completed the FOD check at 1540Z. The incident delayed FAB807s departure by about 05 minutes, no other known impact.

Incident at IQALUIT NU (CYFB)

On initial contact, a Chrono Jet Inc. Boeing 737-2T4 (C-FYPN/MBK793) from Iqaluit, NU (CYFB) to Montreal/St-Hubert, QC (CYHU) reported a landing gear problem, and requested a return to CYFB. The aircraft did not declare an emergency, and landed safely. No other impact on operations.
