The air traffic services (ATS) unit offered FL250 at 10NM to a WestJet Encore Ltd. de Havilland DHC-8-402 (C-GWFE/WEN3404) from Toronto/Lester B. Pearson, ON (CYYZ) to Fredericton, NB (CYFC). The aircraft accepted the flight level, but initiated its climb immediately, well before reaching 10NM. The ATS unit immediately warned the aircraft, which descended to FL230. No impact on operations .

Incident at 14NM FREDERICTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (CYFC)

A privately registered Cessna 340A from Halifax/Stanfield, NS (CYHZ) to Ottawa/Macdonald-Cartier, ON (CYOW) entered the northeast (NE) corner of CYR724 after being advised to stay on the east side of the Saint John River in order to remain clear. The aircraft had flight planned through CYR airspace, and when the area control centre (ACC) controller queried the pilot, they stated that they were unaware of the restricted airspace. The ACC controller provided instructions to remain clear. After some time, the Fredericton, NB (CYFC) tower controller advised the ACC controller that the aircraft had entered the airspace.

A power bump caused a loss of all frequencies, the digital aerodrome air traffic services (DAATS) cameras, and weather information for 45 to 60 seconds. There were six active aircraft at the time of the power bump. DAATS cameras required a full restart to restore functionality.

The Pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) Camera 7 became unresponsive to all input. Both the crosshairs and image adjustment buttons had disappeared. The predefined buttons were unresponsive as well when officials attempted to move the camera with the mouse. A full restart was required to bring PTZ-7 back online.
