While taxiing on B1, an Orizon Aviation Quebec Inc. Cessna 172P (C-FCCC) from Quebec/Jean-Lesage, QC (CYQB) to Quebec/Jean-Lesage, QC (CYQB) was disabled by a flat tire. Several aircraft had to taxi on Runway 11 to get to Apron 3.

A Chrono Jet Inc. Boeing 737-200 (MBK797) from Iqaluit, NU (CYFB) to Montreal/Saint-Hubert, QC (CYHU) declared "PAN PAN" after receiving a front gear flat tire indication. The aircraft landed at 1804Z without incident.

An Orizon Aviation Québec Inc. Piper PA-31 (C-GAFF) from Québec/Jean-Lesage, QC (CYQB) to Québec/Jean-Lesage, QC (CYQB) experienced a flat tire when landing on Runway 24. The runway was closed for approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes.

An Eon Aéroporté Inc. Piper PA-31 (C-FDCY) from La Grande Rivière, QC (CYGL) to La Grande Rivière, QC (CYGL) reported a flat front tire after landing on Runway 13. The runway was closed from 1717Z to 1734Z for inspection. Impact: The departure of an Air Inuit Ltd. aircraft (AIE689) was delayed.

A privately registered Diamond DA 20-C1 from Ottawa/Gatineau, QC (CYND) to Val-d’Or, QC (CYVO) experienced a flat tire on Runway 36 while landing. The aircraft exited the runway at 2036Z. No impact on operations.

An Air Canada Airbus BD-500-1A11 (C-GUPG/ACA665) from Halifax/Stanfield, NS (CYHZ) to Montréal/Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau, QC (CYUL) blew a tire on landing. ACA665 ran off the end of the runway, without incident, onto 06R. An inspection was performed and nothing was found. Impact: 3 aircraft (TSC21, SYB203 and ACA401) were delayed for about 10 to 15 minutes due to the inspection. No other impact on operations.

An Académie Aéronautique Inc. Cessna 172N (C-GVKP) from Montreal/Mirabel, QC (CYMX) to Montreal/Mirabel, QC (CYMX) was asked to leave the runway upon landing but replied that they seemed to have a problem with the aircraft. A Cargair Piper PA-23-250 (C-FPCM) informed the tower that C-GVKP appeared to have a flat tire on the rear right. No operational impact.

Aviation Incident Report #17568: A privately registered Mooney M20C on a flight to Vernon, BC (CYVK) landed on Runway 23 and the front main gear tire became flat. The aircraft stopped 100 feet past the intersection with Bravo and the runway, outside the south-side of the runway edge. A verbal advisory was issued by the airport staff advising that the runway was closed while Staff Vehicle 542 responded and assisted to remove the aircraft off the active runway at Bravo. A runway inspection was completed and the airport resumed normal operations at 2025Z.

An Airshare Partners In Flight Ltd. Cessna 172I (C-GHEV) from Vancouver/Boundary Bay, BC (CZBB) to Vancouver/Boundary Bay, BC (CZBB) landed on Runway 31, then reported a flat tire and was unable to taxi off the runway. The Airport Manager (APM) was notified and assisted the aircraft off of the runway. Runway 31 was unusable for approximately 15 minutes.

A Skyquest Aviation Ltd. Piper PA-34-200 (C-GTYH) from Langley, BC (CYNJ) to Abbotsford, BC (CYXX) encountered a flat tire landing on Runway 07. Runway 07/25 was closed for 1.25 hours. One departure, a Swoop Inc. Boeing 737-8CT (WSW208) from Abbotsford, BC (CYXX) to Edmonton, AB (CYEG), was delayed by 50 minutes. A Flair Airlines Boeing 737-86N (C-FFLA/FLE151) from Toronto/Lester B. Pearson, ON (CYYZ) to Abbotsford, BC (CYXX) held for 10 minutes before diverting to Vancouver, BC (CYVR). One VFR training flight was denied circuits. The runway re-opened at 0444Z.

A 0909913 B.C. Ltd. Beech A36 (C-GRUS) from Nanaimo, BC (CYCD) to Nanaimo, BC (CYCD) landed on Runway 16, suffering a flat front tire and was disabled on the runway. A NOTAM was issued closing the runway. The aircraft was removed and a foreign object debris (FOD) check was completed. The runway was unavailable for 25 minutes. Minimal operational impact.

The Qualicum Beach, BC (CAT4) airport operator phoned to request the Kamloops Flight Information Centre (FIC) issue a NOTAM to close the runway at CAT4 due to a disabled Pacific Professional Cessna 172R (C-FVPV) from Vancouver/Boundary Bay, BC (CZBB) to Qualicum Beach, BC (CAT4). The aircrafts tire is shredded. A NOTAM was issued to close the runway for 2 hours. The aircrafts flight plan reached the Information Request to Departure Station (QALQ) phase at 2104Z. The pilot was busy trying to get the aircraft off of the runway and was unable to phone to close the flight plan in a timely manner. The flight plan was closed at 2120Z.

An International Flight Centre Inc. Cessna 172M (C-GIEL) from Vancouver/Boundary Bay, BC (CZBB) to Vancouver/Boundary Bay, BC (CZBB) taxied onto Taxiway Alpha and notified ground control they had a flat tire and were disabled. Other aircraft were rerouted to Golf for Runway 13. The aircraft was towed off by airport personnel. Minor impact on operations.

A privately registered Cessna R172K from Sudbury, ON (CYSB) to Sudbury, ON (CYSB) advised it had suffered a flat tire on arrival. The aircraft was able to slowly taxi clear of all runways and taxiways. No operational impact.

An American, corporately registered Piper PA-46-500TP (N447PT) from South Bend, IN (KSBN) to Kitchener/Waterloo, ON (CYKF) had a flat tire upon arrival. Outbound VFR traffic incurred minimal delays.

The pilot of a Waterloo-Wellington Flying Club Piper PA-44-180 (C-FPMH) from Kitchener/Waterloo, ON (CYKF) to Kitchener/Waterloo, ON (CYKF) reported a flat tire on Runway 26 after exiting Runway 32. A Flair Airlines aircraft (FLE500) was delayed on departure for approximately 10 minutes due to Runway 26 closure.

An ITPS (Canada) Ltd. Aero L-29 Delfin (C-FXZI/SA46) from London, ON (CYXU) to London, ON (CYXU) landed on Runway 15 and had a flat tire. SA46 was unable to vacate the runway and was towed off. Impact to operations: Runway 15/33 was unavailable for approximately 35 minutes.

A 1815357 Ontario Inc. Cessna 421C (C-FTEE) from Toronto/Buttonville, ON (CYKZ) to Toronto/Oshawa, ON (CYOO) landed Runway 12 and ended up going into the grass with one tire. The aircraft pulled up and landed further down the runway with no issues. C-FTEE taxied in under its own power. 2 inbound aircraft were pulled and landed on Runway 23 until airport staff could get out to clean dirt off runway and complete foreign object debris (FOD) check.

An Island Air Flight School & Charters Inc. Cessna 172M (C-FKWO) from Peterborough, ON (CYPQ) to Toronto/Billy Bishop, ON (CYTZ) popped a tire on landing. No impact to operations.

A Northwestern Ontario Air Search & Rescue Association Cessna 172N (C-GQFZ) from Thunder Bay, ON (CYQT) to Thunder Bay, ON (CYQT) was disabled on Runway 30 with a flat tire. No operational impact.

A St. Catharines Flying Club Piper PA-28-161 (C-GNOC) from St. Catharines/Niagara District, ON (CYSN) to St. Catharines/Niagara District, ON (CYSN) landed on Runway 06 and reported a nose wheel issue. The pilot indicated that they could not taxi to the ramp. Upon further inspection, a flat nose gear tire was confirmed. The flight service station (FSS) and Allied aviation services coordinated to tow the aircraft off the runway. No impact to operations.

An Ottawa Flying Club Cessna 172M (C-GBRO) from Ottawa/MacDonald-Cartier, ON (CYOW) to Ottawa/MacDonald-Cartier, ON (CYOW) had a flat tire during taxi to base. Taxiway Q was blocked for 50 minutes. No impact on operations.

A Morningstar Air Express Cessna 208B (C-FEXH/MAL8060) from Winnipeg/James Armstrong Richardson, MB (CYWG) to Thunder Bay, ON (CYQT) reported a flat tire after landing. No operational impact.

Aviation Incident Report: A Kenn Borek Air de Havilland DHC-6-300 (C-FDHB) from Liberia, Costa Rica (MRLB) to Houston, TX (KHOU) landed on Runway 4 and taxied to Taxiway R. After the aircraft was clear of the runway and switching to ground control, the aircrafts brakes and left tire caught on fire. There was a small amount of smoke coming from the aircraft, but no visible flames. The fire station was alerted and rolled the trucks, however, before the trucks arrived, the pilot put out the fire using an on-board fire extinguisher. The aircraft was towed to the fixed-base operator (FBO). No damage to airport property. No injuries. Extent of damage unknown.
UPDATE: TSB Report #A22F0022: C-FDHB, a Kenn Borek Air Viking DHC-6-200 was conducting a flight from Liberia/Daniel Oduber Quirós Intl, Costa Rica (MRLB) to Houston/William P. Hobby, TX (KHOU). After landing in KHOU, the pilot applied brakes to exit via the taxiway and felt that the airplane grabbed a bit more then usual on the left-hand side. After exiting the runway, the flight engineer on board called Fire on the left-hand side of the airplane. The pilot stopped the airplane and shut down the engines. The flight engineer jumped out and extinguished the fire on the left-hand main landing gear with a hand held onboard fire extinguisher. After inspection, it was discovered that the left-hand brake caliper had broken free from its mount and rotated forward, severing the hydraulic lines.

An Alkan Air Cessna 208B (C-FAKZ/AKN666) from Watson Lake, YT (CYQH) to Whitehorse/Erik Nielsen, YT (CYXY) was disabled on Runway 14R due to a blown tire. One aircraft moved to land on Runway 14. No other impact to operations.

Upon landing at 1513Z, a 102122954 Saskatchewan Ltd. Cessna 414A (C-FZAM) from Yorkton, SK (SYQV) to Yorkton, SK (SYQV) discovered they had a flat tire, disabling the aircraft on Runway 04/22. The tire was re-inflated and the aircraft taxied off the runway at 1541Z. No operational impact.

A 2581676 Ontario Inc. Cessna 182J (C-GNVO) from Thunder Bay, ON (CYQT) to Winnipeg/James Armstrong Richardson, MB (CYWG) experienced a flat tire upon landing. Runway 31 was closed for just over an hour until the aircraft was removed. No other impact to operations.

A 1897943 Alberta Ltd. Cessna 182P (C-GLNR) from Lloydminster, AB (CYLL) to Lloydminster, AB (CYLL) became disabled on the runway while backtracking due to a flat tire at 2155Z. The Airport Manager (APM) issued a NOTAM to close the runway and escorted the Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) to the aircraft to inflate the tire. C-GLNR taxied back to the apron. A foreign object debris (FOD) check was completed. NOTAM cancelled at 2222Z. Two arriving aircraft were delayed by 27 minutes.

A Kenn Borek Air Ltd. de Havilland DHC-6-300 (C-GKBO/KBA309) from Iqaluit, NU (CYFB) to Iqaluit, NU (CYFB) was inbound southeast, planning to land on the bay near threshold (THR) 34. An Air Nunavut Ltd. Beech 200 (C-FZNQ/BFF202T) from Iqaluit, NU (CYFB) to Iqaluit, NU (CYFB) was inbound from the north for 16 circling 34. After initial contact with KBA309, the flight service station (FSS) attempted to contact KBA309 four times between 2025Z and 2031Z to update traffic information. KBA309 finally answered calls at 2034Z when BFF202T was turning left base 34. KBA309 advised later that they were on a satellite phone call and did not hear calls. They also advised that they have a flat tire, explaining why they had to land on skis on the bay.

A North-Wright Airways Ltd. Cessna U206G (C-GZVX) from Norman Wells, NT (CYVQ) to Tulita (Fort Norman), NT (CZFN) taxied for departure on Runway 10, and reported a flat tire on the threshold. C-GZVX was towed off the runway at 1721Z. A North-Wright Airways Ltd. de Havilland DHC-6-300 (C-FNWL) on a flight from Norman Wells, NT (CYVQ) was delayed from doing circuits. Airport authority advised and a foreign object debris (FOD) check completed.

A Super T Aviation Cessna 172N (C-FBWG) from Medicine Hat, AB (CYXH) to Medicine Hat, AB (CYXH) experienced a flat tire after landing on Runway 03/21.

At 2224Z, a Regina Flying Club Cessna 172N (C-GYQR) from Regina, SK (CYQR) to Regina, SK (CYQR) landed on Runway 26 and reported a flat tire after exiting onto Taxiway P. Operations continued on Runway 31. C-GYQR was towed off of the field and a foreign object debris (FOD) check was completed. Runway 26 was available for use at 2243Z.

A Sky Wings Aviation Academy Cessna 172M (C-GMWH) from Red Deer, AB (CYQF) to Red Deer, AB (CYQF) landed and reported a blown tire. The aircraft stopped on the runway. Runway 17/35 was unavailable. The airport manager, the Edmonton (YEG) area control centre (ACC) and the NAV CANADA manager (NCM) were advised. Two aircraft had to be rerouted to Runway 30, minimal impact on operations. The tire was changed and the aircraft exited the runway at 1953Z. The runway was inspected and available for use at 2000Z.

Aviation Incident Report #17483: A Missinippi Air-Care Beech B200 (C-FWXI) on a MEDEVAC flight to Little Grand Rapids, MB (CZGR) landed on Runway 36. The aircraft touched down and turned around on the runway, approximately 800 feet to 600 feet from the threshold of Runway 18, to backtrack to the taxiway, and the aircraft parked safely on the apron. The pilot reported a flat tire and needed to wait for an engineer to replace the tire. The outside temperature was -33. Runway condition was 100% snow and gravel mix. There were no injuries.

An Eon Aéroporté Inc. Piper PA-31 (C-GPTB) from Fort McMurray, AB (CYMM) to Fort McMurray, AB (CYMM) had a flat tire on arrival and stopped on the runway. A McMurray Aviation Cessna 208B (C-GWKO) from Fort McMurray, AB (CYMM) to Fort McMurray, AB (CYMM) was on final and was instructed to conduct a go-around. The aircraft held for 40 minutes. A McMurray Aviation Cessna 208B (C-GWRK) from Fort Chipewyan, AB (CYPY) to Fort McMurray, AB (CYMM) was inbound and also held for 32 minutes. The area control centre (ACC) shift manager was advised. C-GPTB was successfully removed from the runway at 1917Z. No further impact to operations.

A Fast Air Beech B300 (C-FYTY/PBR01T) from Winnipeg/James Armstrong Richardson, MB (CYWG) to Winnipeg/James Armstrong Richardson, MB (CYWG) experienced a flat tire after landing on Runway 31. Traffic was re-routed to Runway 36. Runway 31 was closed for approximately 45 minutes. No other impact to operations.

An Integrated Sensing & Surveillance Inc. Cessna 172P (C-GIKY) from Swift Current, SK (CYYN) to Regina, SK (CYQR) landed on Runway 31 and reported a flat tire in the intersection of both runways. Emergency Response Services (ERS) and field maintenance assisted with removal. Runways reopened at 2251Z.

The pilot of a privately registered Piper PA-30 from Helena, MT (KHLN) to Edmonton, AB (CYEG) reported a flat tire on landing Runway 12 but was able to taxi off the runway onto A4. The aircraft was disabled on A4 until towed off 53 minutes later. No significant impact to operations.

An Eon Aéroporté Inc. Piper PA-31 (C-GPTB) from Fort Smith, NT (CYSM) to Fort Smith, NT (CYSM) reported a flat tire near the threshold of Runway 12. A Northwestern Air Lease Ltd. aircraft (PLR508) on a flight to Fort Smith, NT (CYSM) waited in a hold and landed, without further incident, 28 minutes late. No further impact on operations.

An Alpine Aviation Cessna U206F (C-GROD) from Whitehorse/Eric Nielsen, YT (CYXY) to Whitehorse/Eric Nielsen, YT (CYXY) landed on Runway 14L and stopped with a flat tire. All traffic was moved to Runway 14R. The company took care of removing the aircraft from the runway, otherwise there was no impact on operations.

An Exact Air Piper PA-31 (C-FVYW/ET870) from Fort McMurray, AB (CYMM) to Fort McMurray, AB (CYMM) landed on Runway 26 at 2135Z and reported a flat nose gear tire, and advised they would require a tow off the runway. The aircraft was removed from the runway at 2213Z. A WestJet Encore de Havilland DHC-8-402 (WEN3245) from Edmonton, AB (CYEG) to Fort McMurray, AB (CYMM) held from 2144Z to 2214Z, and landed at 2221Z.

A 102122954 Saskatchewan Ltd. Cessna 414A (C-FZAM) from Yorkton, SK (CYQV) to Calgary/Springbank, AB (CYBW) blew a tire upon landing on Runway 26 and became disabled after exiting onto Taxiway A. Taxiway A was unusable between C and Runway 26 for over an hour, until the aircraft was repaired and removed.

A GCS Aviation Ltd. Beech 300 (C-FGSX) from Victoria, BC (CYYJ) to Red Deer, AB (CYQF) slid off the edge of Runway 35 after landing. Minimal impact to the operation.
UPDATE: TSB Report #A22W0004: A GCS Aviation Ltd. Beech B300, C-FGSX, was operating as flight CAR604 from Victoria, BC (CYYJ) to Red Deer, AB (CYQF). Upon landing, the pilot engaged propeller reverse thrust and the RH engine engaged reverse before the LH engine. The asymmetric thrust condition created a directional control issue. The pilot attempted to recover using yaw control, braking and bringing the engines out of reverse thrust; however, the aircraft continued to yaw to the left and exited the west side of the runway. The aircraft skidded sideways and rotated approximately 270 degrees before coming to rest 50 feet from the edge of the runway surface. The airport authority assisted in transferring the passengers back to the hangar, and the aircraft was subsequently towed back to the hangar. The pilot and two passengers received no injuries. The aircraft damage was limited to a flat RH tire. Company maintenance performed engine ground runs and found the RH engine was entering reverse ahead of the LH engine. The LH engine beta valve and reverse pick-up rigging was adjusted and the aircraft was released for continued service.

A 4197802 Manitoba Ltd. Cirrus SR22 (C-GWHA) on a flight to Lethbridge, AB (CYQL) landed on Runway 31 at 0038Z. The pilot reported the aircraft had sustained a flat tire and was disabled at the runway intersection. C-GWHA was removed from the intersection at 0131Z. No runways were available during this time. No impact to the operation.

Aviation Incident Report #17209: A privately registered Piper PA-18A (equipped with tundra tires) on a flight from Montmagny, QC (CSE5) landed on the grass next to the runway and took off from there. Following this, the pilot was advised by the Ministère des Transports du Québec representative and universal communications (UNICOM) officer that the grassy surface around Runway 08/26 was not currently compliant because it was very soft, and that this procedure was being done at the pilots own risk because there was substantial risk of the aircraft bogging down. The pilot did not take the information into account and answered that they still planned to proceed in the same way in the future.

Aviation Incident Report #17082: An École de pilotage Évolution Piper PA-38-112 (C-FNGU) from Trois-Rivières, QC (CYRQ) to Trois-Rivières, QC (CYRQ) experienced a flat tire on the runway at taxiway Charlie. The runway was cleared 10 minutes later. No other aircraft were in the zone at that time.

Upon landing on Runway 06L, an Air Canada Airbus A330-343 (C-GFAF/ACA901) from Fort Lauderdale, FL (KFLL) to Montreal/Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau, QC (CYUL) reported an emergency due to a landing gear issue. Emergency services were called. A Jazz Embraer ERJ 170-200 SU (JZA7540) from Chicago/O’Hare, IL (KORD) to Montreal/Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau, QC (CYUL), on final for Runway 06L, was instructed to pull up because ACA901 was disabled on the runway. Passengers disembarked on the runway. Impact: a number of arrivals were delayed, including a Piedmont Airlines Embraer ERJ-145 (PDT6011) on a flight to Montreal/Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau, QC (CYUL) and 4 Jazz aircraft (JZA8004, JZA7602, JZA7540 and JZA8596) on a flight to Montreal/Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau, QC (CYUL). Runway 06L/24R was closed until 1030Z on December 26th. ACA901s landing gear was damaged. The National Operations Centre (NOC), the Aviation Operations Centre (AVOPS) and the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) were notified.
UPDATE: TSB Report #A21Q0138: C-GFAF, an Air Canada Airbus 330-343 operating as flight ACA901, was on an instrument flight rules flight from Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International, FL (KFLL) to Montreal/Pierre Elliott Trudeau International, QC (CYUL). While landing on Runway 06L, the crew observed an indication of a right main landing gear malfunction. The Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) unit was requested by the crew, who immobilized the aircraft on the runway. The 2 front tires of the right main landing gear were flat and major damage to the bogey did not allow for a tow of the aircraft. Airport authority closed Runway 06L and vehicles were sent out to transport the passengers and crew members to the terminal. Runway 06L was reopened the following day at 1030Z.

A CGMGR INC Mooney M20J (C-GMGR) from Ottawa/MacDonald Cartier Intl, ON (CYOW) to Montreal/Mirabel Intl, QC (CYMX) had a blown tire after landing Runway 06. Emergency services advised. An Académie Aéronautique Cessna 172N (C-GVKP) from Montreal/Mirabel, QC (CYMX) to Montreal/Mirabel, QC (CYMX) advised of a flat tire by calling ground control while on Taxiway B4. The airport duty manager (ADM) was notified. Taxiway B4 was once again serviceable at 2305Z. No impact on operations.

An Air Creebec de Havilland DHC-8-106 (C-FODL/CRQ232) from Chibougamau/Chapais, QC (CYMT) to Montreal/Pierre Elliott Trudeau, QC (CYUL) reported a blown tire on departure from CYMT. Ground personnel found a tire on the runway. CRQ232 departed from Runway 22 at CYMT for CYUL at 1929Z.
UPDATE: Duplicate AOR 276445-V1: An Air Creebec Inc. de Havilland DHC-8-106 (C-FODL/CRQ232) from Chibougamau/Chapais, QC (CYMT) to Montreal/Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau, QC (CYUL) declared "PAN PAN" due to experiencing a flat tire upon departure from CYMT and changed its destination to Val-dOr, QC (CYVO). Emergency services were deployed. The aircraft landed at 2104Z and cleared the runway safely. Runway was inspected at CYMT, and a piece of rubber was found and removed. No impact on operations.
