The departure of a Morningstar Air Express Boeing 757-200 (MAL7054) on a flight from Montréal/Mirabel, QC (CYMX) was delayed by three minutes.

A Richcopter Inc. Cessna 150M (C-GFVI) from Ottawa/Gatineau, QC (CYND) to Ottawa/Gatineau, QC (CYND) entered the CYND control zone (CZ) 3NM southwest (SW) without contacting the CYND flight service station (FSS). Communication was established once the aircraft was overhead the field at 1700 ft. A Richcopter Inc. Cessna 150M (C-FTOD) from Ottawa/Gatineau, QC (CYND) to Ottawa/Gatineau, QC (CYND) conducted 2 orbits 3NM north of the airport for spacing with the "no radio" (NORDO) aircraft. Both aircraft landed safely.

Aviation Incident Report #17559: A Cargair Cessna 152 (C-GYWA) was conducting touch-and-gos on Runway 23. At that time, a Chrono Aviation Pilatus PC-12/45 (C-GICR/NDL876) was performing an area navigation (RNAV) approach for Runway 23. There was no contact between the pilots until C-GYWA made a turn on final, passing in front of NDL876, which caused a loss of safe separation between the aircraft. The pilots of the two aircraft conducted a go-around.

A Turkish Airlines Boeing 777-300 (THY7) from Istanbul, Turkey (LTFM) to Washington/Dulles, VA (KIAD) declared a medical emergency due to a sick passenger and immediate clearance to Goose Bay, NL (CYYR). The aircraft was given clearance to CYYR and landed safely at 2305Z. The emergency medical services (EMS) unit was requested on arrival. No impact on operations.

As the aircraft was climbing through flight level (FL) 330, the crew received a "FWD Cargo Smoke and Land ASAP" message from the Electronic Centralized Aircraft Monitoring (ECAM) system. The crew carried out the ECAM procedures and returned to CYUL. No emergency was declared, but the aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) services were on standby. The aircraft landed without further incident. Maintenance inspected the forward and aft cargo hold and no evidence of smoke, or events that would have caused a smoke indication, were found. A faulty Smoke Detection Control Unit (SDCU) was suspected. Maintenance replaced the unit.

UPDATE: TSB Report #A22Q0004: C-GJNL, a DHC-8-311 operated by Hydro-Québec, was on instrument flight rules flight HYD160 from Quebec/Jean Lesage, QC (CYQB) to La Grande 4, QC (CYAH). When the aircraft was in level flight approximately 130 nautical miles (NM) south of La Grande Rivière, QC (CYGL), the crew observed a complete loss of hydraulic fluid from system no. 2. An emergency (PAN PAN) was declared and the aircraft was diverted to the CYGL airport. The Quick Reference Handbook (QRH) check was completed and the landing gear was successfully deployed. The aircraft landed without incident at CYGL. Maintenance staff replaced a hydraulic line that was leaking and the aircraft was returned to service.

A Coastal Pacific Aviation Ltd. Cessna 172M (C-GTCN) from Abbotsford, BC (CYXX) to Abbotsford, BC (CYXX) called ready for departure. They were instructed to hold short due to traffic on final. Read back was given. C-GTCN started to taxi onto the runway. C-GTCN was instructed to stop. Another Cessna 172 that was 1NM final was instructed to pull up. C-GTCN was instructed to continue and take-off clearance was given when it was safe.

A Langley Flying School Inc Cessna 172M (C-GEKU) from Langley, BC (CYNJ) to Langley, BC (CYNJ) called the emergency phone line reporting an electrical failure. Aircraft landed safely. Minimal operational impact.

A 2376239 Alberta Ltd. Piper PA-24-250 (C-GUYE) from Squamish, BC (CYSE) to Victoria, BC (CYYJ) advised the tower of a possible landing gear issue on final approach for Runway 09. On departure, an Image Air Charter Ltd. Bombardier CL-600-2B16 (C-FOWK) from Vancouver, BC (CYVR) to Kelowna, BC (CYLW) experienced a flap issue, declared an emergency, and subsequently returned to CYVR. The aircraft landed safely at 1757Z.
