Accident at J.A. DOUGLAS MCCURDY SYDNEY AIRPORT

A Provincial Aerospace Beech 200 (C-GEHS/SPR810) on a MEDEVAC flight from Halifax/Stanfield, NS (CYHZ) to Sydney/J.A. Douglas McCurdy, NS (CYQY) conducted a missed approach in CYQY at 1721Z, following a landing gear indication. The crew elected to return to CYHZ and deal with the situation enroute. An emergency was declared, the Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) unit was advised, and an aircraft inspection fly-by of the Halifax tower was conducted at 1828Z, followed by a landing on Runway 14. The right main landing gear collapsed as the nose wheel touched down, and the aircraft came to rest on Runway 14, between the intersection of Runway 05/23 and Taxiway Mike.
