Incident at In the vicinity of: SAINT JOHN NB (CYSJ)

A Canlink Aviation Diamond DA 20-C1 (C-FJXD) from Fredericton, NB (CYFC) to Saint John, NB (CYSJ) called Saint John flight service station (FSS) on 119.0 (Fredericton mandatory frequency (MF)) requesting an airport advisory. Specialist observed aircraft NW of Saint John Airport on NAV CANADA Auxiliary Radar Display System (NARDS) and queried whether the pilot wanted an airport advisory for Fredericton or Saint John. Pilot wanted to land in Fredericton. Pilot was asked to squawk ident and was told he was 10 miles NW of Saint John, and he asked for headings to Fredericton. Specialist coordinated with Moncton area control centre (ACC) and pilot was transferred to their frequency. Pilot advised Moncton ACC a few minutes later, that he was low on fuel and was transferred back to Saint John FSS frequency to land at Saint John. Aircraft landed at 0523Z. No impact on operations. Weather SKC 15SM MIFG.

QUE10, a Challenger belonging to the Service aérien gouvernemental du Québec, was IFR from Quebec City/Jean-Lesage (CYQB) to Gaspé (CYGP). At 0752Z, the crew had a missed approach for rwy 29 in Gaspé because of a flight of birds at the airport. There was another missed approach for rwy 29 at 0805Z and yet another for rwy 11 at 0819Z, because of weather conditions (0800Z 00000KT 5 SM BR MIFG FEW008). The crew moved to a holding pattern at the Gaspé VOR. The aircraft touched down in Gaspé at 0931Z. ***** ** ***** QUE10, un Challenger du Service aérien gouvernemental du Québec, effectuait un vol selon les règles de vol aux instruments (IFR) depuis Québec/Jean-Lesage (CYQB) à destination de Gaspé (CYGP). L'équipage a effectué une approche interrompue à 0752Z pour la piste 29 à Gaspé, en raison d'un banc d'oiseaux sur l'aéroport. Par la suite, l'équipage a effectué une approche interrompue pour la piste 29 à 0805Z et une autre à 0819Z pour la piste 11, en raison des conditions météorologiques (0800Z 00000KT 5 SM BR MIFG FEW008). L'équipage a dirigé l'appareil vers un circuit d'attente au radiophare omnidirectionnel à très haute fréquence (VOR) de Gaspé (YGP). L'aéronef a atterri à Gaspé à 0931Z.

Incident at SAINT JOHN NB (CYSJ)

PA28 CFNXZ departed Saint John for a VFR flight west of the city at 0758Z. At approximately 0858Z the aircraft called returning to land. Wx at that time -X 280 -Bkn 1/4F. Pilot was advised that weather was below SVFR limits, and he elected to come closer to the airport for a look. At 0901Z he advised that there was ""at least 3/4 mile visibility"" on the approach to runway 14 and he would land on that runway. An Airport advisory was given, with the visibility again stated as 1/4 mile. Pilot stated he could see almost all of runway 14. Aircraft landed safely at 0905Z. Wx at 0913Z Few clouds ar 28,000, visibilty 10 miles MIFG. Nil TSB
