A Jazz Bombardier CL-600-2D24 (JZA8014) from Ottawa/MacDonald Cartier, ON (CYOW) to Montréal/Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau, QC (CYUL) reported a possible bird strike when landing on Runway 24R. Two aircraft, an Air Wisconsin Bombardier CL-600-2B19 (AWI3789) from Washington Dulles, VA (KIAD) to Montréal/Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau, QC (CYUL) and a WestJet Encore Ltd. de Havilland DHC-8-402 (WEN3534) from Toronto/Lester B. Pearson, ON (CYYZ) to Montréal/Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau, QC (CYUL) refused to land and pulled up. Swallows were dispersed on inspection but no dead birds were found.

During a lights inspection, a vehicle (PE89) reported a dead bird on the runway. The airport duty manager (ADM) was advised. No impact on operations.

A Jazz de Havilland DHC-8-402 (JZA8093) from Sydney/J.A. Douglas McCurdy, NS (CYQY) to Montréal/Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau, QC (CYUL) reported a dead animal on Runway 24R on landing. A groundhog was found during inspection. Three arrivals were diverted to Runway 24L to land.

A groundhog was spotted on Runway 06/24 at Montreal/Mirabel, QC (CYMX). The groundhog was pronounced dead and removed by a vehicle (RED16). One aircraft performed a "low and over" during the removal.

A Gama Aviation Cessna 560XL (GAJ504) from Bedford, MA (KBED) to Montréal/Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau, QC (CYUL) reported a dead bird when landing on Runway 24L. A crow was removed after inspection. No impact on operations.

A dead gull was found on Runway 24 following a report of the presence of birds on the runway. No impact on operations and no aircraft reported striking a bird.

An Air Inuit de Havilland DHC-8-300 (AIE802) from Kuujjuarapik, QC (CYGW) to Salluit, QC (CYZG) took position for departure from Runway 03 and was advised of the presence of a dead bird near the Runway 03 threshold. The airport attendant was notified. A small bird carcass was removed.

A staff vehicle found a dead bird on the runway after a runway inspection.

A Canadian Flight Centre Inc. Cessna 152 (C-FMBX) reported a dead bird on the runway after landing at Kamloops, BC (CYKA).

A Swoop Inc. Boeing 737-8CT (WSW407) from Abbotsford, BC (CYXX) to Toronto/Lester B. Pearson, ON (CYYZ) reported seeing a dead bird on Runway 07 on departure. The remains of a falcon were recovered. Information was passed to a Flair Airlines Boeing 737-800 (FLE603) from Abbotsford, BC (CYXX) to Edmonton, AB (CYEG) and a Flair Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 8 (FLE150) from Abbotsford, BC (CYXX) to Toronto/Lester B. Pearson, ON (CYYZ), which had recently departed from Runway 07.

After departing from Runway 26L, a privately registered Cessna 150L from Pitt Meadows, BC (CYPK) to Pitt Meadows, BC (CYPK) reported hitting "something" and requested to make a full-stop landing. The aircraft landed safely on Runway 36, and taxied back to the apron. The pilot later reported that they could not observe any damage to the aircraft, and asked to taxi down Runway 26L to check for foreign object debris (FOD)/wildlife before departing again. While on Runway 26L, the pilot reported finding "several dead geese" and subsequently departed from Runway 36.

A WestJet Boeing 737-800 (C-GOCD/WJA858) from Hamilton, ON (CYHM) to Calgary, AB (CYYC) reported a bird strike on departure from Runway 30. Maintenance found two dead barn swallows.

A Porter Airlines de Havilland DHC-8-402 (C-GLQQ/POE386) from Chicago/Midway, IL (KMDW) to Toronto/Billy Bishop, ON (CYTZ) reported a possible bird strike on rollout Runway 26. Dead seagull found.

A Sunwing Airlines Boeing 737-8HX (C-FTOH/SWG641) from Holguin/Frank Pais, Cuba (MUHG) to Toronto/Lester B. Pearson, ON (CYYZ) reported a possible wildlife strike after landing on Runway 23. An inspection vehicle found a dead possum, intact. No impact to operations.
UPDATE from Operator: After some follow-up with the crew of SWG641, they advised that they had reported seeing wildlife on the runway, not that they had struck it.

A Porter Airlines de Havilland DHC-8-402 (C-GLQE/POE385) from Toronto/Billy Bishop, ON (CYTZ) to Chicago/Midway, IL (KMDW) reported a possible bird strike on departure. One small dead bird was found.

During a runway inspection at Hamilton, ON (CYHM), a dead bird was found on Runway 12/30. A bird strike is presumed. The last aircraft to use Runway 12 landed at 2146Z. No confirmation if they did or did not have the bird strike.

A Porter Airlines de Havilland DHC-8-402 (C-GLQQ/POE459) from Toronto/Billy Bishop, ON (CYTZ) to Montreal/Pierre Elliott Trudeau, QC (CYUL) was taxiing out for departure and reported a bird on the runway. A staff vehicle found a dead seagull. No impact to operations.

A Superior Airways Piper PA-31-350 (C-FVWY/SR631) from Pikangikum, ON (CYPM) to Red Lake, ON (CYRL) reported a possible bird strike at the threshold of Runway 26. Dead bird confirmed by next departure and staff vehicle.

A Skywest Airlines Embraer ERJ 170-200 LR (SKW4071) from Calgary, AB (CYYC) to Salt Lake City, UT (KSLC) reported striking gophers while departing from Runway 17R. Runway inspection found 2 dead gophers on the runway.

A Flair Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 8 (C-FLEJ/FLE799) from Edmonton, AB (CYEG) to Vancouver, BC (CYVR) experienced a bird strike on departure from Runway 02. A Jazz Bombardier CL-600-2D24 (JZA8563) from Edmonton, AB (CYEG) to San Francisco, CA (KSFO) was delayed by 5 minutes while the runway was inspected. A dead bird was found.

An aircraft reported seeing a dead bird on the runway. Inspection recovered a small warbler. No impact to operations.

A Flair Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 8 (C-FLKD/FLE570) from San Francisco, CA (KSFO) to Edmonton, AB (CYEG) reported a possible bird strike on touchdown. A dead owl was found on the runway. No impact to operations.

A vehicle (ST21) found a dead bird at the intersection of Runway 12/30 and 07/25 during a routine inspection. No prior pilot reports. No operational impact.

After a morning runway inspection, the Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) unit called to report that a dead crow was found. No bird strike was reported by any aircraft.

A Jazz Embraer ERJ 170-200 SU (JZA7639) from New York/LaGuardia, NY (KLGA) to Montreal/Pierre Elliott Trudeau, QC (CYUL) reported debris on Runway 24R after landing. A dead bird was found on inspection. Two aircraft were redirected to Runway 24L for landing to allow for an inspection.

Delayed entry as a result of NAV CANADA safety and evaluation quality assurance (QA) review: A vehicle found a dead skunk on Taxiway India at Montreal/Mirabel, QC (CYMX). Airport Duty Manager (ADM) advised. No impact.

Upon departure from Runway 24L, an Air Canada Airbus A330-343 (C-GKUH/ACA407) from Montreal/Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau, QC (CYUL) to Toronto/Lester B. Pearson, ON (CYYZ) reported a bird strike. A dead American kestrel was discovered during the inspection.

A vehicle reported seeing a dead bird on the threshold of Runway 24R at Montreal/St-Hubert, QC (CYHU). The runway was closed temporarily. The runway was inspected and reopened at 2330Z. Impact: A Panorama Fixed Wings Ltd. aircraft (flight PNO704) and a few aircraft on a VFR circuit were rerouted to Runway 24L.

There was a report of a dead bird on Runway 24R at Montreal/St-Hubert, QC (CYHU). Impact: Runway closed until 2010Z.

Upon landing on Runway 24L, an Air Canada Boeing 787-9 (ACA845) from Frankfurt, Germany (EDDF) to Montreal/Pierre Elliott Trudeau, QC (CYUL) reported seeing dead birds on the runway. 3 carcasses were found during the inspection. One departure and one arrival were delayed.

A Chrono Aviation Pilatus PC-12/45 (C-FGFL/NDL654) from Sept-Îles, QC (CYZV) at Bromont, QC (CZBM) reported a dead bird on the runway at CZBM. No impact on operations.

After landing, an Academie Aeronautique Cessna 172N (C-GYBV) from Montreal/Mirabel, QC (CYMX) to Montreal/Mirabel, QC (CYMX) reported a dead bird on Runway 06 at the level of Taxiway B6. A Cargojet Airways Boeing 757-236 (C-FKCJ/CJT619) from Halifax/Stanfield, NS (CYHZ) to Montreal/Mirabel, QC (CYMX), which was short final, received the information and chose to land. Emergency centre notified. The carcass was recovered and the runway re-opened at 0024Z. Impact: an Academie Aeronautique Cessna 152 (C-GPFX), which was in the circuit at Montreal/Mirabel, QC (CYMX), had to conduct low approaches during the recovery of the carcass.

A Pascan Pilatus PC-12/47E (C-FUAM/PSC366) from Montreal/St-Hubert, QC (CYHU) to Montreal/Pierre Elliott Trudeau, QC (CYUL) reported a dead animal on the runway when it landed on Runway 24L. A rabbit was found on inspection. Impact: the departures of an Air Creebec de Havilland DHC-8-102 (CRQ5771) from Montreal/Pierre Elliott Trudeau, QC (CYUL) to Chibougamau/Chapais, QC (CYMT), and a Provincial Airlines de Havilland DHC-8-102 (PVL1902) from Montreal/Pierre Elliott Trudeau, QC (CYUL) to Quebec/Jean Lesage, QC (CYQB) were delayed, and an Air Canada Airbus BD-500-1A11 A220-300 (ACA396) from Calgary, AB (CYYC) to Montreal/Pierre Elliott Trudeau, QC (CYUL) was redirected to Runway 24R for landing. No other impact on operations.

Upon take-off, an Air Creebec de Havilland DHC-8-101 (CRQ5808) from Chibougamau/Chapais, QC (CYMT) to Eleonore, QC (CEL8) reported seeing a dead bird on the runway. A vehicle (MOB1) confirmed the carcass of a white partridge on the runway.

A Sager West Contracting Ltd. Stinson 108-3 (C-FKPZ), conducting circuits on Runway 16 at Nanaimo, BC (CYCD), reported a dead seagull 200ft from the threshold of Runway 16, on the centreline. A vehicle (ST22) reported and removed the remains of a seagull. There had been no reports of a bird strike at any time. No impact to operations.

During a routine inspection of Runway 08L at Vancouver, BC (CYVR), a vehicle (OPS21) discovered a dead bird. No operational impact.

A BP Aviation Ltd. Cessna 172N (C-GCAW) from Penticton, BC (CYYF) to Penticton, BC (CYYF), landing at 1919Z, reported a dead hawk on the runway, south of Taxiway B. There had been no reported bird strikes beforehand. Maintenance was informed and attended. No impact to operations.

While backtracking for a departure from Runway 26 at Prince Albert (Glass Field), SK (CYPA), a Transwest Air Ltd. Aerospatiale ATR 42-300 (C-GWWD) reported a dead bird near the threshold. A vehicle (ST31) removed the remains of a ring-billed gull.

After landing on Runway 16, a WestJet Encore Ltd. de Havilland DHC-8-402 (WEN3281) from Calgary, AB (CYYC) to Penticton, BC (CYYF) advised that it may have struck a bird south of Taxiway B. The runway was inspected and a dead bird was found. Pilots were advised.

A Jazz de Havilland DHC-8-402 (JZA8236) from Vancouver, BC (CYVR) to Terrace, BC (CYXT) reported a bird strike upon landing, at the threshold of Runway 33. Maintenance found a dead crow on the runway.

A Central Mountain Air Beech 1900D (C-FCMR/GLR8595) from Dease Lake, BC (CYDL) to Kamloops, BC (CYKA) reported a dead bird on the runway after landing on Runway 27. The pilot advised they did not think they had hit it, as the bird appeared to have been dead for a while. Airport Maintenance was called to remove the carcass. No impact on operations.

At Kamloops, BC (CYKA), an aircraft taxiing for departure advised of a dead bird on the runway. No report of a bird strike from any aircraft. No operational impact.

An Alkan Air Ltd. Beech 1900D (C-GNAJ) from Terrace, BC (CYXT) to Nanaimo, BC (CYCD) received a "Loss of global positioning system (GPS) navigation" message at approximately FL110. There was no warning prior to the failure. The aircraft switched to dead reckoning, and reverted to its second on-board GPS for navigation. The anomaly resolved itself after 05 seconds.

At Port Hardy BC (CYZT), the Airport Manager (APM) advised of a clean-up of a dead bird on Runway 08/26. No impact to operations.

A Jazz de Havilland DHC-8-402 (C-GYJZ/JZA7955) from Montreal/Pierre Elliott Trudeau, QC (CYUL) to Toronto/Billy Bishop, ON (CYTZ) reported a bird strike upon arrival on Runway 26. A dead bird was found floating in water prior to the runway threshold. No reported damage.

A Thunder Airlines Ltd. Mitsubishi MU-2B-60 (C-GYUA/THU890) from Moosonee, ON (CYMO) to Sudbury, ON (CYSB) departed and saw a dead bird on the runway. A vehicle (Staff 23) went to collect the bird. Advised it was a gull. THU890 advised it was just observed, they did not hit the bird.

The tower initiated an overshoot of a Lake Central Airways Cessna 441 (C-GAGE) from Westchester County, NY (KHPN) to Toronto/Lester B. Pearson, ON (CYYZ) for Runway 06L, due to a Greater Toronto Airport Authority (GTAA) inspection vehicle finding a dead bird on the runway. No aircraft had reported a bird strike. C-GAGE landed without further incident (WOFI) at 2105Z. No other operational impact.

A Gama Aviation Beech B350 (N860UP/GAJ860) from Rochester, NY (KROC) to Toronto/Lester B. Pearson, ON (CYYZ) reported a dead bird on Runway 33L after landing. No operational impact.

A Skylink Express Beech 1900C (C-GSKM/SLQ726) from North Bay, ON (CYYB) to Sudbury, ON (CYSB) reported a dead bird on Runway 08 on departure.

A Thunder Airlines Beech A100 (C-GNEX/THU05T) from Thunder Bay, ON (CYQT) to Thunder Bay, ON (CYQT) reported a possible bird strike on a planned rejected takeoff exercise. Vehicle found 1 small dead bird on the runway.
