The aircraft informed the air traffic controller (ATC) of a hydraulic problem in engine no 2. No emergency declared. WEN3510 aircraft landed without incident on Runway 06R at 1922Z.
UPDATE from Airworthiness: A Civil Aviation Safety Inspector (CASI) looked into this occurrence. The aircraft reported a #2 engine hydraulic issue. #2 hydraulic system filter manifold blanking plug ruptured. Replaced and tested ok.
UPDATE TSB #A19Q0149: C-FWEP, a WestJet Encore Bombardier DHC-8-400 (WEN3510) was conducting an IFR flight from Toronto/Lester B. Pearson Intl (CYYZ), ON, to Montreal/Pierre Elliott Trudeau Intl (CYUL), QC, with 49 passengers and 4 crew members on board. While the aircraft was cruising and immediately prior to its descent at approximately 115 NM from CYUL, the message HYD SOV 2 displayed and the master caution light illuminated. The crew then noticed that the quantity of hydraulic fluid in system No. 2 was at 0%. The crew followed the associated checklist and declared an emergency. The aircraft landed safety and, after no damage was observed during an emergency vehicle inspection, it was towed to the apron. There were no injuries.

Separation was reduced to 2.5 NM and 400 ft while the requirement was 3 NM or 1 000 ft.
UPDATE TSB #A19Q0147: C-FDRH, an Air Canada Airbus A320 (ACA410), was flying from Toronto/Lester B. Pearson Intl (CYYZ), ON, to Montreal/Pierre Elliott Trudeau Intl (CYUL), QC. N813AE, an Envoy Air Embraer E135 (ENY3383), was flying IFR from New York/LaGuardia (KLGA), NY, to CYUL. While the two aircraft were preparing for final approach on runways 24R and 24L, separation was reduced to 2.5 NM horizontally and 400 feet vertically, whereas the prescribed separation was 3 NM or 1,000 feet.

Incident at MONTRÉAL / PIERRE ELLIOTT TRUDEAU INTL QC (CYUL)

An Air Canada Boeing 777-300 (ACA892) from Montreal/Pierre Elliott Trudeau, QC (CYUL) to Rome, Italy (LIRF) rejected its takeoff for an unknown reason and cleared the runway without incident. Impact on operations: an Air Canada Airbus A320-211 (ACA426) from Toronto/Lester B. Pearson, ON (CYYZ) to Montreal/Pierre Elliott Trudeau, QC (CYUL) was instructed to overshoot Runway 24R, then landed at 0234Z.

Incident at 67NM VAL D'OR QC VOR/DME (YVO)

While en route, a British Airways Airbus A380-800 (BAW297) from London/Heathrow, United Kingdom (EGLL) to Chicago/OHare, IL (KORD) reported a medical emergency involving a passenger on board and requested to divert to Toronto/Lester B. Pearson, ON (CYYZ). Coordination carried out. A few minutes later, BAW297 told the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) that it was continuing its flight to KORD. After a few moments and after coordination with Toronto, BAW297 was redirected to CYYZ. No impact.

Incident at MONTRÉAL / PIERRE ELLIOTT TRUDEAU INTL QC (CYUL)

A WestJet Boeing 737-7CT (C-GMWJ/WJA596) from Toronto/Lester B. Pearson, ON (CYYZ) to Montreal/Pierre Elliott Trudeau, QC (CYUL) reported a bird strike while landing on Runway 06L.
UPDATE from Airworthiness: A Civil Aviation Safety Inspector (CASI) looked into this occurrence. Upon inspection, Maintenance found evidence of the bird strike just below Captains L2 window. Maintenance cleaned impact area, and bird strike inspection carried out. Radome inspected. No faults found. Aircraft was returned to service.

During an inspection of Runway 24R, an expansion joint was found, which forced a Chartright Air Learjet 45 (C-GNSC/HRT237) from Toronto/Lester B. Pearson, ON (CYYZ) to Montreal/Pierre Elliott Trudeau, QC (CYUL) to land on Runway 24L. No impact on operations.

A WestJet Encore de Havilland DHC-8-402 (C-GKWE/WEN3534) from Toronto/Lester B. Pearson International, ON (CYYZ) to Montreal/Pierre Elliott Trudeau, QC (CYUL) received and read back clearance to land at 2323Z. At 2326Z, WEN3534 rejected its approach, due to confusion after communications with a VFR aircraft, an Académie aéronautique Cessna 172 (C-GIGW) from Montreal/Mirabel, QC (CYMX) to Montreal/Mirabel, QC (CYMX). No impact on operations.
