Incident at RIMOUSKI QC (CYXK)

A privately registered, amateur-built Vans RV forgot to call back off the runway once on the ground at Rimouski, QC (CYXK). A CYXK attendant confirmed that the aircraft was on the ground and that it had exited the runway. When departing, the aircraft communicated its intentions on frequency 122.1 MHz, but did not establish contact with the flight service station (FSS). Once in the air, the aircraft established communication with Mont-Joli, QC (CYYY) radio (RDO) and confirmed that it was not receiving communications on the ground. No impact.

Incident at RIMOUSKI QC (CYXK)

A pilot on the ground at Rimouski, QC (CYXK) called to report that a privately registered, amateur-built Wagaero Super-Cuby from Rimouski, QC (CYXK) to Rimouski, QC (CYXK) was "no radio" (NORDO) and that it was going to join a downwind for Runway 25 to return to land at CYXK in five minutes. The flight information station (FSS) asked a Service Héliporté ML Inc. Cessna 172M (C-GPMO) from Rimouski, QC (CYXK) to Rimouski, QC (CYXK) to fly westward after its touch-and-go to avoid a conflict. The pilot on the ground called back a few minutes later to say that the Wagaero Super-Cuby was on short final at the same time as a C-GPMO also on final. Incorrect estimated time of arrival (ETA) for the Wagaero Super-Cuby. C-GPMO confirmed having the other aircraft in sight and had to pull up to avoid it because the Wagaero Super-Cuby was taxiing to leave the runway after landing.
