A loud but intermittent emergency locator transmitter (ELT) signal was heard for approximately 5 seconds on 243.0. No known aircraft in the vicinity. Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) Victoria notified.

Incident at TROIS-RIVIÈRES QC (CYRQ)

An iFly College Cessna 172R (C-FUWO) from Quebec/Jean Lesage Intl, QC (CYQB) to Quebec/Jean Lesage Intl, QC (CYQB) reported a bird strike while at approximately 2200 feet over Trois-Rivières, QC (CYRQ). The aircraft was able to land without issue at CYRQ.

Incident at QUÉBEC / JEAN LESAGE INTL QC (CYQB)

A privately registered Cessna 172RG from Quebec/Neuville, QC (CNV9) to Quebec/Neuville, QC (CNV9) entered the Quebec/Jean Lesage Intl, QC (CYQB) tower class C airspace at 1100 feet, heading east, without establishing communications. Short delays of less than 5 minutes were imposed on a few aircraft waiting to depart. No loss of separation or other impact to operations.

A WestJet Encore de Havilland DHC-8-402 (C-FUWE/WEN3139) from Calgary, AB (CYYC) to Fort McMurry, AB (CYMM) reported a possible bird strike after landing on Runway 26. A staff vehicle inspected the runway and found a deceased bird on the runway.

An Air Canada Boeing 737 MAX 8 (ACA2354) from North Bay, ON (CYYB) to Val-dOr, QC (CYVO) reported a bird strike on departure from Runway 08. An airfied inspection was conducted and no foreign object debris (FOD) was found.

A Swoop Boeing 737-8CT (WSW107) from Hamilon, ON (CYHM) to Abbotsford, BC (CYXX) hit 2 small birds upon landing on Runway 07. No operational impact.

Incident at KUUJJUARAPIK QC (CYGW) (ATM - inaccurate aeronautical information)

The technical operations coordinator (TOC) advised that frequency 122.2 MHz at Kuujjuarapik, QC (CYGW) was unserviceable. Aircraft were departing and landing without the airport advisory service (AAS). Other impacts unknown.

Incident at 12NM W MONTRÉAL INTL (MIRABEL) QC (CYMX)

A privately registered Bellanca 7KCAB on a flight from Lachute, QC (CSE4) was observed entering class C airspace. The aircraft contacted the Montreal/Mirabel, QC (CYMX) tower while it was crossing the approach path for Runway 11 and a Private Air aircraft (FSY298) was established on final. The Bellanca was immediately instructed to proceed north to free the approach and avoid a wake turbulence loss of separation. No impact to operations.

Incident at 4533N / 07314W

A privately registered Diamond DA40 from Montreal/St-Hubert, QC (CYHU) to Thetford Mines, QC (CSM3) changed its destination to St-Mathieu-de-Beloeil, QC (CSB3) due to a fire in the cockpit caused by an electrical problem. No assistance requested. The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) Trenton and the National Operations Centre (NOC) were advised. The aircraft landed without issue at 2255Z. No impact to operations.

Incident at FORT MCMURRAY AB (CYMM) (FOD (foreign object debris))

At 2243Z, a McMurray Aviation Cessna U206G (C-GHGT) from Fort Chipewyan, AB (CYPY) to Fort McMurray, AB (CYMM) landed on Runway 26 and, during the roll out, reported a bird strike. Airport maintenance was notified and recovered 1 American Kestrel. A McMurray Aviation Cessna 208 (C-FKEY) and a privately registered, amateur-built Harmon Rocket II were delayed by approximately 3 minutes.

Incident at THE PAS MB (CYQD)

A Perimeter Aviation Swearingen SA226-TC (C-GIQF/PAG12) from The Pas, MB (CYQD) to Island Lake, MB (CYIV) aborted its take-off from Runway 31 due to a bird strike and taxied back to the apron. The pilot commented that it appeared to be a couple of sparrows. No other impact on operations.

A Transwest Air Saab SF340A (C-GKCY) from Prince Albert (Glass Field), SK (CYPA) to La Ronge (Barber Field), SK (CYVC) reported multiple bird strikes while landing Runway 36. The airport staff removed the remains of 6 small birds. No impact on operations.

En route to Pembroke, ON (CYTA), a Government of Canada, Department of National Defence Boeing CH-47D (HAMR11) from Petawawa, ON (Heli) (CYWA) to Pembroke, ON (CYTA) requested to be rerouted to CYWA without specifying a reason. No urgency. HAMR11 returned and safely landed on the ground. No impact.

Incident at 58NM TERRACE BC (CYXT)

While on an IFR photo flight, a Kisik Aerial Survey Inc. Piper PA-23-250 (C-FKSK) from Terrace, BC (CYXT) to Smithers, BC (CYYD) was observed climbing to FL189 after having received clearance to FL180. After being queried, the pilot indicated descending back to FL180. No operational impact.

While en route, a Pascan Pilatus PC-12 (PSC187) from Rouyn-Noranda, QC (CYUY), QC to Montreal/St-Hubert, QC (CYHU) lost the function of its 2 transponders. No urgency. PSC187 continued its flight normally. No impact.

Incident at EDMONTON INTL AB (CYEG)

After landing on Runway 12 and exiting onto A1, an Air Canada Airbus A320-211 (C-FNVV/ACA179) from Toronto/Lester B. Pearson, ON (CYYZ) to Edmonton, AB (CYEG) turned left onto Taxiway Alpha prior to contacting ground control for authorization. No impact to operations.

Incident at TORONTO / BILLY BISHOP TORONTO CITY AIRPORT ON (CYTZ)

During a low approach for Runway 26, the pilot of a privately registered Cessna 150F from Toronto/Oshawa, ON (CYOO) to Toronto/Billy Bishop, ON (CYTZ) requested a left turn out, citing engine issues. The pilot then declared an emergency and was cleared to land on Runway 08. The aircraft landed on Runway 06, no injuries or operational impact.

After departing from Runway 01, the pilot of an Air Creebec de Havilland DHC-8-101 (CRQ703) from Kingston, ON (CYGK) to Moosonee, ON (CYMO) reported a possible bird strike. Airport personnel inspected the runway and discovered a dead American Kestrel. No impact on operations.

At approximately 1715Z, an aircraft that was squawking 1200, with no mode C, proceeded through a portion of the Edmonton, AB (CYEG) control zone. The aircraft was spotted in the zone, at a low level. No impact to the operation.

Incident at NAUJAAT NU (CYUT) (ATM - operations)

The operator advised that the operation hours of the CYUT community aerodrome radio station (CARS) were extended until 170400Z. NOTAM issued.

The aircraft elected to go around and returned for landing after a runway inspection. Inspection found an intact seagull. No further impact on traffic.

At Whale Cove, NU (CYXN), there were missed weather observations during published hours. Observations were missed at 1200Z and 1300Z. The station was called, with no answer. An aerodrome special meteorological report (SPECI) was issued at 1329Z.

Incident at PRINCE ALBERT (GLASS FIELD) SK (CYPA) (Aerodrome - power failure, ATM - inaccurate aeronautical information)

At Prince Albert (Glass Field), SK (CYPA), there was a commercial power loss at 2125Z. The backup generator was online. The mandatory frequency (MF) 122.3 MHz was unserviceable (U/S) and switched to the backup radio. The Technical Operations Coordinator (TOC) was advised. MF 122.3 was serviceable and commercial power was restored at 2218Z. TOC advised. Minimal impact to operations.

Incident at ABBOTSFORD BC (CYXX)

While a Chinook Helicopters Ltd. Bell 47G-2 (C-FKGU) from Abbotsford, BC (CYXX) to Abbotsford, BC (CYXX) was outbound from the airport, they failed to maintain a listening watch on the frequency. The controller tried to call C-FKGU multiple times to pass traffic regarding 3 different aircraft. C-FKGU finally came on the frequency when at the edge of the control zone. They said they read the tower 5x5. No operational impact.
