A China Southern Airlines Company Airbus A380 (B6136/CSN329) from Guangzhou Baiyun Intl, China (ZGGG) to Vancouver Intl, BC (CYVR) conducted a missed approach due to wind shear.

Incident at ABBOTSFORD BC (CYXX)

A Canadian Flight Centre Cessna 152 (C-GMZA) from Pitt Meadows, BC (CYPK) to Pitt Meadows, BC (CYPK) entered Abbotsford, BC (YXX) Class C airspace without clearance. C-GMZA entered the zone at 1.5NM from the North and remained inside the control zone at 3500ft for approximately 3 minutes. No contact was established.

Incident at 5021N / 11057W

A privately registered Cessna A185F on a flight plan from Kelowna, BC (CYLW) to Winnipeg/James Armstrong Richardson Intl, MB (CYWG) was observed at 50 21 11N 110 57 44W at A095 inside CYR229, travelling from West to East, at 1824Z. The aircraft exited CYR229 at 1830Z at 50 22 17N 110 35 38W, still at A095. The Suffield, AB (CYSD) range control Communication Officer was notified at 1826Z and stopped all live fire immediately. Edmonton flight information centre (FIC) and area control centre (ACC) were all aware.

Incident at REGINA INTL SK (CYQR)

A privately registered Cessna A185F from Regina Intl, SK (CYQR) to Winnipeg/James Armstrong Richardson Intl, MB (CYWG) was instructed to line up for Runway 26. The aircraft was observed lining up for Runway 31 at K; the error was corrected by the controller. The aircraft departed from Runway 26 with no impact to operations.

Incident at ISLAND LAKE MB (CYIV) (Aerodrome, runway or taxiway shutdown)

A North West Company Cessna 441 (C-FNWC) from Cross Lake, MB (CYCR) to Island Lake, MB (CYIV) landed and reported getting stuck on the edge of the runway. Runway was closed until 2133Z. One aircraft had to divert to Red Sucker Lake, MB (CYRS) during the closure. No other known operational impact.

Accident at ST-GEORGES QC (CYSG) (Aerodrome, runway or taxiway shutdown)

The landing gear of a Grondin Transport Cessna 310R (C-FMST) collapsed upon landing at St. Georges, QC (CYSG). Runway 06/24 at CYSG was closed by NOTAM from 0050Z to 0241Z.
Update TSB Report #A20Q0053: C-FMST, a Cessna 310R operated by Grondair Aviation, was on a visual flight rules (VFR) training flight from St-Frédéric, QC (CSZ4) to St-George-de-Beauce, QC (CYSG) with an instructor and a student pilot on board. After a simulated engine failure landing at CYSG, the aircraft took off and entered a circuit in preparation for a second landing, this time with 2 engines. During the landing, the aircrafts tail struck the ground, followed by the propeller and the aircraft then slid on its belly the length of the runway. The roll out finished approximately 300 ft after impact, slightly left of the runway heading and with smoke coming from the cabin. The landing gear was up when the aircraft was taken away later that evening. There was no fire or fuel/oil leak. There were no injuries.

Incident at VODUN intersection

A Skynorth Air Beech 200 (C-GCFF/SN851) from Little Grand Rapids, MB (CZGR) to Winnipeg/James Armstrong Richardson Intl, MB (CYWG) was flight planned for the KELTO THREE arrival and started a right turn just prior to VODUN, rather than continue on the downwind track, as per the published standard terminal arrival (STAR) procedure. The controller assigned a vector to correct. No impact to operations.

Incident at SAINT JOHN NB (CYSJ)

A Rockcliffe Flying Club Piper PA-31 (C-FRKG) from Fredericton Intl, NB (CYFC) to Saint John, NB (CYSJ) reported not having three green lights on final for Runway 32. The aircraft circled around to try to resolve the issue and then made a low pass on Runway 14. The flight service station (FSS) and two fire fighters in Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) trucks were able to observed 3 landing gears. The aircraft landed safely without any issues at 1739Z.

At Calgary, AB (CYYC), an emergency locator transmitter (ELT) signal was heard for 58 minutes commencing at 1802Z. The ELT was traced to a WestJet (WJA) aircraft.

A WestJet Boeing 737-700 (WJA672) from Calgary Intl, AB (CYYC) to Toronto/Lester B. Pearson Intl, ON (CYYZ) initiated an overshoot due to wind shear on final. The aircraft returned to land safely on Runway 33L at 0238Z.

An Exact Air Beech A100 (C-FDOS/ET824) from Poste Montagnais (Mile 134), QC (CSF3) to Chicoutimi/St-Honoré, QC (CYRC) declared PAN PAN due to a landing gear issue. Emergency vehicles were deployed. The aircraft landed without issue at 1602Z. A runway inspection was conducted and nothing abnormal was found. No impact to operations.

After departing Winnipeg/James Armstrong Richardson Intl, MB (CYWG), a Missinippi Air-Care Beech 200 (C-GOGT/MA03) reported an issue and advised diverting to Winnipeg/St. Andrews, MB (CYAV). No impact to operations. No assistance required.

Incident at 5647N / 12324W

A person called to advise of an emergency locator transmitter (ELT) activation at 56.7943N 123.4020N. The aircraft was a privately registered, amateur-built Rans S-7 Courier. The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) Victoria advised they are aware of the incident and that the aircraft had crashed. A helicopter was dispatched from Fort St. John, BC (CYXJ) to the site. No flight plan was on file with NAV CANADA. 1 soul on board (SOB), uninjured. The Area Control Centre (ACC) shift manager was also advised. (Duplicate AOR 264340-V1 deleted)

A Skylink Express Inc. Beech 1900C (SLQ7824) from Vancouver, BC (CYVR) to Calgary, AB (CYYC) was instructed to descend to 14,000ft but was observed descending below 13,500ft. The aircraft was then instructed to descend to 13,000ft. No impact to operations.

Incident at 4NM PITT MEADOWS BC (CYPK)

A Pacific Flying Club Cessna 152 (C-GZSA) from Vancouver/Boundary Bay, BC (CZBB) to Vancouver/Boundary Bay, BC (CZBB) was inbound to Pitt Meadows, BC (CYPK) for one stop-and-go departure to CZBB. At 4NM final, C-GZSA squawked 7600 and communication could not be established. Landing clearance was given via light signal. After landing at Pitt Meadows, BC (CYPK), C-GZSA re-established communication, and departed to CZBB at 1750Z. No impact on operations.

At Medicine Hat, AB (CYXH), a vehicle (TK398) was working on Runway 03/21, near the threshold of Runway 21, with access to the full length of the runway when a Cessna 208B (C-FEPL) from Edmonton, AB (CYEG) to Medicine Hat, AB (CYXH) reported inbound for Runway 27. The flight service station (FSS) attempted to contact TK398 to provide a hold short instruction. There was no reply from the vehicle. FSS flashed the runway lights, no response. C-FEPL was advised of the vehicle on Runway 21. The pilot had the vehicle in sight at the threshold of Runway 21 and elected to land on Runway 27 while the vehicle had full access to Runway 03/21.
