Incident at KAMLOOPS BC (CYKA) (FOD (foreign object debris))

A Central Mountain Air Beech 1900D (C-FCMR/GLR8595) from Dease Lake, BC (CYDL) to Kamloops, BC (CYKA) reported a dead bird on the runway after landing on Runway 27. The pilot advised they did not think they had hit it, as the bird appeared to have been dead for a while. Airport Maintenance was called to remove the carcass. No impact on operations.

Incident at MONTRÉAL INTL (MIRABEL) QC (CYMX) (FOD (foreign object debris))

During a runway inspection at Montreal/Mirabel, QC (CYMX), an airport duty manager (ADM) vehicle (SAU16) found a bird carcass (American kestrel) abeam Taxiway B6. No impact on operations.

Incident at MONTRÉAL / ST-HUBERT QC (CYHU) (Aerodrome, runway or taxiway shutdown)

A Cargair Cessna 172N (C-GYMA) from Montreal/St-Hubert, QC (CYHU) to Montreal/St-Hubert, QC (CYHU) landed on Runway 06R and reported a blown tire and was unable to exit the runway. The aircraft was towed away; the runway was inspected and reopened at 1639Z. Impact: some aicraft in the circuit had to come to a complete stop and some departures were delayed.

An Air Tindi Beech 200 (TIN511+) reported a cracked windshield enroute from Edmonton, AB (CYEG) to Hay River/Merlyn Carter, NT (CYHY). No emergency was declared. No assistance required. TIN511+ landed without incident at 0606Z. No impact on operations.

A Swoop Inc. Boeing 737-8CT (C-GNDG/WSW270) from Edmonton, AB (CYEG) to Toronto/Lester B. Pearson, ON (CYYZ) advised that it was in the missed approach at 1503Z. WSW270 landed on Runway 06R at 1513Z, without further incident (WOFI). No impact to operations.

The Winnipeg (YWG) flight information centre (FIC) advised it was hearing an emergency locator transmitter (ELT) signal on 121.5 MHz. The signal was weak on the National Voice Communication System (NVCS), but loud and clear through the hand-held radio (NICAN). The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) Trenton was advised.

A Super T Aviation Bellanca 8KCAB (C-GFIL) from Medicine Hat, AB (CYXH) to Medicine Hat, AB (CYXH) phoned to advise of a communications failure at 1728Z. Test count revealed no communication; advisory service provided via phone. The aircraft landed on Runway 27 safely at 1735Z. No further impact to operations.

The pilot of a Swoop Inc. Boeing 737-8CT (C-GDMP/WSW185) from Hamilton, ON (CYHM) to Winnipeg/James Armstrong Richardson, MB (CYWG) reported a possible bird strike on departure from Runway 30. Inspection by maintenance afterwards discovered 2 barn swallows near the Taxiway G intersection. No impact to operations.

A Pacific Flying Club Cessna 152 (C-GGGN) from Vancouver/Boundary Bay, BC (CZBB) to Vancouver/Boundary Bay, BC (CZBB) was observed with a collapsed front landing gear upon landing. The aircraft was able to remain in the landing area. Runway 13 was closed for 1 hour for aircraft removal. Aircraft working in the circuit pattern, and inbound aircraft, were diverted to Runway 07.

Incident at Kelowna

A privately registered Cessna 140 from Kelowna, BC (CYLW) to Kelowna, BC (CYLW) made its first call to the tower approximately 5 miles Northwest (NW), over Okanagan Lake, at 3000ft in the zone. The aircraft did not establish communication prior to entering the zone.
