Incident at WINNIPEG CENTRE / ACC DE WINNIPEG

Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT) reports of an unknown aircraft were received. There were three short bursts at 0201Z, 0206Z, 0208Z. The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) Trenton was notified.

Incident at 36NM WINNIPEG / JAMES ARMSTRONG RICHARDSON INTL MB (CYWG)

A Vanguard Air Care Beech 200 (C-FFAP/VN02) from Winnipeg/James Armstrong Richardson, MB (CYWG) to Poplar River, MB (CZNG) was cleared to FL 200 at 0229Z, and read back clearance correctly. At 0235Z VN02 was observed on the radar climbing through FL210, controller queried the pilot and VN02 descended to FL200. No impact on operations.

Incident at HALIFAX / STANFIELD INTL NS (CYHZ)

A WestJet Encore de Havilland DHC-8-402 (C-GWEF/WEN3428) on a flight from Halifax/Stanfield Intl, NS (CYHZ) to St. Johns Intl, NL (CYYT) rejected takeoff Runway 14 due to a fuelling light. The aircraft returned to the gate. No assistance required.

Incident at GREATER MONCTON ROMEO LEBLANC INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

A Moncton Flight College Diamond DA 20-C1 (C-FNTJ) on a flight from Greater Moncton/Romeo Leblanc Intl, NB (CYQM) to Greater Moncton/Romeo Leblanc Intl, NB (CYQM) reported engine sputter 10 miles southeast of field and requested to return to airport. No emergency declared and the aircraft landed without incident. No impact on operations.

A Jazz Bombardier CL-600-2B19 (C-FZJA/JZA8850) on a flight from Ottawa/MacDonald-Cartier Intl, ON (CYOW) to Greater Moncton/Romeo Leblanc Intl, NB (CYQM) initiated an overshoot, in very windy conditions. No impact on operations.

Incident at TORONTO / LESTER B. PEARSON INTL ON (CYYZ)

A TAP Air Portugal Airbus A330-900 (CSTUD/TAP259A) on a flight from Lisbon, Portugal (LPPT) to Toronto/Lester B. Pearson Intl, ON (CYYZ) on final approach Runway 24R declared a PAN with a flap issue. The aircraft conducted a go-around and held for a short time whilst troubleshooting. The aircraft subsequently requested to return for landing and declared an emergency. TAP259A landed safely at Runway 23 at 0200Z. No impact on operations. Aviation Operations Centre (AVOPS) advised.

A WestJet Boeing 737-7CT (C-FMWJ/WJA1201) on a flight from New York/La Guardia, NY (KLGA) to Toronto/Lester B. Pearson Intl, ON (CYYZ) was instructed to initiate an overshoot to CYYZ Runway 33L due to the preceding arrival, a WestJet Encore de Havilland DHC-8-402 (C-FENY/WEN3513) on a flight from Montreal/Pierre Elliott Trudeau Intl, QC (CYUL) to Toronto/Lester B. Pearson Intl, ON (CYYZ) still exiting the runway at high speed F2.

Incident at THUNDER BAY ON (CYQT)

An Air Bravo Pilatus PC-12/45 (C-FKPI/AB1250) on a flight from Thunder Bay, ON (CYQT) to North Spirit Lake, ON (CKQ3) returned to airport with nose gear stuck down. Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) on standby. Aircraft landed safely, no operational impact.

A Westair Aviation Piaggio P-180 Avanti (C-GFOX) on a flight from Kamloops, BC (CYKA) to Vancouver/Boundary Bay, BC (CZBB) was observed descending below the cleared altitude of 7000ft. Controller caught the mistake, no operational impact.

Incident at EDMONTON INTL AB (CYEG)

A WestJet Boeing 737-8CT (C-GWUX/WJA1532) from Edmonton, AB (CYEG) to Phoenix/Sky Harbour, AZ (KPHX) was instructed to hold short of Alpha at AC reference where an aircraft was under tow on A. WJA1532 was observed going past the hold line at AC. "Executive Tow" was now told to stop in the vicinity of Oscar. WJA1532 was instructed to continue to taxi onto A to AD back into the apron so the tow could continue. No impact on operations.

Incident at SASKATOON / JOHN G. DIEFENBAKER INTL SK (CYXE)

A Mitchinson Flying Service Cessna 152 from Saskatoon/John G. Diefenbaker, SK (CYXE) to Saskatoon/John G. Diefenbaker, SK (CYXE) made a wrong turn while taxiing for Runway 15. The aircraft was observed taxing onto Runway 27, and subsequently onto Runway 15 without authorization. Attempts to contact the aircraft on ground frequency were not answered. Contact was made with the pilot on tower frequency. No impact to operations.

A privately registered Piper PA-28-161 from Calgary, AB (CYYC) to Gowganda/Gowganda Lake, ON (Water) (CPL6) had a flat tire and was required to be towed back to hangar. No operational impact.

A Montair Aviation Cessna 172R (C-GGPP) from Red Deer, AB (CYQF) to Red Deer, AB (CYQF) reported a bird strike while on climb-out from Runway 35. No remains found and no impact on operations.

Incident at RANKIN INLET NU (CYRT)

A Calm Air Aerospatiale ATR 42-320 (C-FECI/CAV211) from Rankin Inlet, NU (CYRT) to Whale Cove, NU (CYXN) advised that it was returning to land two minutes after departure due to a bird strike during the climb out. No assistance required, no impact to operations.

A Cargojet Airways Boeing 767 200 (CJT584) from Vancouver, BC (CYVR) to Hamilton, ON (CYHM) on the final approach Runway 30 executed a missed approach due to wind shear.

A Compass Airlines LLC (N637CZ/CPZ5817) from Vancouver, BC (CYVR) to Seattle-Tacoma, WA (KSEA) was issued an altitude restriction but failed to read it back. Pilot failed to comply with the restriction on departure Runway 08R.

A Pacific Coastal Airlines Beech 1900C (C-GPCY/PCO752) from Campbell River, BC (CYBL) to Vancouver, BC (CYVR) reported a dead bird on Runway 08L after landing. Runway closed for foreign object debris (FOD) recovery. No indication if the bird was struck by an aircraft.

An Air Canada Airbus A330-343 (C-GHKW/ACA843) from Dublin, Ireland (EIDW) to Toronto/Lester. B Pearson, ON (CYYZ) declared a medical emergency and requested to divert to Goose Bay, NL (CYYR). Aircraft was cleared as requested and landed at 1635Z. No traffic or impact to operations.

At 0112Z, a West Wind Aviation Aerospatiale ATR 42-300 (WEW503) on a flight from La Ronge (Barber Field), SK (CYVC) to La Ronge (Barber Field), SK (CYVC) reported bird remains on Runway 36. Airport Manager (APM) advised. Bird remains removed at 0138Z.

Incident at NORMAN WELLS NT (CYVQ)

An intermittent emergency locator transmitter (ELT) signal was heard faintly. An inbound Kenn Borek Air Ltd. Beech 1900D (C-GHUE) from Tulita/Fort Norman, NT (CZFN) to Norman Wells, NT (CYVQ) was requested to report if anything heard. Aircraft identified their ELT was unintentionally deployed and they would advise maintenance. Edmonton (CZEG) flight data was advised. No impact to operations.

A Canadian Utilities Limited Dassault Falcon 7X (C-GCUL) departed on a VFR flight from Edmonton/Josephburg, AB (CFB6) to Calgary Intl, AB (CYYC) and climbed into class C airspace without a clearance. No impact to operations.

A 1630408 Alberta Ltd. Piper PA-44-180 (C-GILY) on a flight from Edmonton/Cooking Lake, AB (CEZ3) to Edmonton/Cooking Lake, AB (CEZ3) was issued alternate missed approach instructions to fly runway heading and climb to 5000 above sea level (ASL). C-GILY was observed on radar climbing out of 5000 with conflicting traffic above, a Can-West Corporate Air Charters Ltd. Beech 200 (CWA921) on a flight from Slave Lake, AB (CYZH) to Edmonton Intl, AB (CYEG) on descent that was cleared to 6000 ASL. C-GILY was instructed to descend immediately to 5000.

VN06 initiated a second missed approach due to the same indication and returned to arrival for another approach. VN06 requested assistance 10 miles final with Tower. Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) responded. VN06 landed safely.

The aircraft checked in climbing to 2,000. The controller cleared the aircraft to 3,500 but the aircraft climbed to 4,000.

Checked telephone at random via National Voice Communication System (NVCS) and received no dial tone. Tried non-NVCS handset with same result. 5th floor break room and fax lines also unserviceable (U/S). Notified technical operations coordinator (TOC) and provided the affected phone numbers.

A Flair Airlines Boeing 737-400 (FLE102) on a flight from Toronto/Lester B. Pearson Intl, ON (CYYZ) to Edmonton Intl, AB (CYEG), on final for Runway 20 in Edmonton, reported a green laser strike that lasted over one minute. Edmonton city police advised.
