Shortly after departure, a North Star Air Pilatus PC-12 (BF708) on a flight from Thunder Bay, ON (CYQT) to Thunder Bay, ON (CYQT) reported an aircraft issue and advised returning to CYQT. The aircraft landed at 1725Z with no impact to operations.

A WestJet Boeing 737-700 (WJA1416) on a flight from Calgary Intl, AB (CYYC) to Orlando Intl, FL (KMCO) required emergency medical services (EMS) callout to the gate due to a medical emergency.

Incident at TORONTO / LESTER B. PEARSON INTL ON (CYYZ)

After landing, an Air Canada Rouge Boeing 767-300 (ROU1629) on a flight from Fort Lauderdale Intl, FL (KFLL) to Toronto/Lester B. Pearson Intl, ON (CYYZ) exited Runway 24R on Taxiway C4 and was instructed to taxi D hold short of E which was read back. An Air Canada Airbus A320 (ACA1401) on a flight from Bahías de Huatulco Intl, Mexico (MMBT) to Toronto/Lester B. Pearson Intl, ON (CYYZ) landed Runway 24R and exited at C2 and was instructed to taxi E and D which was read back. ROU1629 failed to hold short of E and continued taxiing in front of ACA1401. There was no risk of collision.

First contact with the tower occurred when the aircraft was 3 miles final for Runway 25. The aircraft was 1 mile in trail of an IFR Pilatus PC-12 when communication was established.

The aircraft initiated a left turn towards the YYJ VOR without clearance. No operational impact.

A Jazz de Havilland DHC-8-402 (C-GGMZ/JZA8274) from Nanaimo, BC (CYCD) to Calgary, AB (CYYC) aborted takeoff due to a bird on the runway. No strike reported. Operations delayed 10 minutes for runway check.

At Port Hardy, BC (CYZT) Vehicle (TK80) requested a voice NOTAM closure of Runway 08/26 due to hydraulic fluid leak. Airport performed runway inspections and assessment of spill. NOTAM Runway 16/34 voice NOTAM closed. Area Control Centre (ACC) advised of both runway closures. Fire department and city sweeper brought in for cleaning purposes.

Incident at EDMONTON INTL AB (CYEG)

Pilot initiated missed approach for a Summit Air British Aerospace Avro 146 series RJ100 (C-FXRJ/operating as First Air flight FAB239) on a flight from Yellowknife, NT (CYZF) to Edmonton Intl, AB (CYEG) on area navigation (RNAV) approach to Runway 20. The aircraft reported "lateral navigation (LNAV) issues" and requested an instrument landing approach (ILS) approach to Runway 02. The flight landed Runway 02 at 0821Z. No impact to operations. It was reported that the issue was with internal avionics.

An Air Canada Embraer ERJ 190-100 IGW (C-FNAI/ACA441) on a flight from Ottawa/MacDonald-Cartier Intl, ON (CYOW) to Toronto/Lester B. Pearson Intl, ON (CYYZ) overshot Runway 23 at 1304Z due to an unstable approach, grounding 220kts at the market. The aircraft landed at 1315Z and taxied to the gate without further incident (WOFI). Incident at SIKNI intersection

Simultaneous independent arrival operations on the 35s. A Jazz de Havilland DHC-8-102 (JZA7990) on a flight from Lethbridge, AB (CYQL) to Calgary Intl, AB (CYYC) received a traffic collision avoidance system (TCAS) resolution advisory (RA) from traffic on the adjacent localizer. The adjacent traffic was in the normal operating zone. JZA7990 was landing on Runway 35R. JZA7990 followed the RA and climbed.

Incident at 17NM TORONTO / LESTER B. PEARSON INTL ON (CYYZ)

A 677276 N.B. Inc. Cessna 340A (C-GBLJ) on a flight from Toronto/Buttonville, ON (CYKZ) to Fredericton, NB (CYFC) checked in climbing to 3000 feet and the controller advised the pilot to maintain 3000 feet which was read back. The mode C disappeared momentarily, but C-GBLJ was next observed climbing through 3400 feet. When queried by the controller the aircraft descended immediately back down to 3000 feet.
